I'm sure you've heard this before, but doing nothing about it won't make it better.

I have a lot of blue shirts and khaki pants that I wear to work. I've actually gone to Walmart in my work clothes and people have asked me where things were thinking I work there just because I was wearing a blue shirt and khaki pants

Happened to me too wearing a red shirt in Target.  You should have directed them somewhere anyway.  "Milk?  Yeah, that's over by the fishing equipment."

Oh great, stumbled onto something about dental issues, and now I'm freaking out.

 Wonderful.

What's wrong?

I almost had it filled. But the dentist didn't want to do it on me because I was apparently showing signs of being about to actually pass out.

Posts about deadly tooth infections is what's wrong...

I actually just Googled it. Starting pay at Walmart is actually $9 an hour. That's  not half bad considering US minimum wage is $7.25. Plus, that's better than what I was looking at because I was hoping for $8 an hour.

I've always wanted to go there and ask where impossible things were. "Can you help me find the kosher ham?"

I think I'm just mentally weak, honestly.

It's like everyone around me has built up this tolerance to things, and even when given ample opportunity, and trying my hardest before, I can't seem to build up the same tolerance.

That's probably not bad in OKC.  NJ has a very high cost of living.

I feel like that query should be responded to with some sort of innuendo.

Hey, we all get scared sometimes.  Do you have a regular dentist?

I get the feeling Base doesn't go to the dentist. Ever. Unless it's a serious emergency. Not that it's a bad thing, necessarily. It just freaks you out. It's part of who you are.

Yeah, the cost of living in Oklahoma City is actually very low compared to other parts of the nation. I live in one of the popular parts of town in a building from 1929. Really cool part of town. And the rent here is really great, too. Somewhere else, a place like this could be rented out at quadruple what I'm paying.

No, haven't had one in a long time...

I just meant in general. I've never built up a high pain tolerance, I break very easily under stress. I literally used to work on a farm with my grandparents during summer in the past, yet still have basically no work ethic...

I had to build up a lot of tolerance. As a child, I had to learn to survive. I've had too many brushes with my own death that I guess I don't really fear dying anymore.

My life wasn't that hard...Or maybe it was, I don't even know anymore. The only things I remember are the good things, or the parts that ended with me in pain of some sort.

The rest is just some large blur of events I don't care about, and don't want to remember.

I'm lucky.  I've never needed any dental work, besides braces.  I'm not really the person to talk about going to the dentist.

I don't fear health professionals either. The bad ones you hear about on the news are few and far between. Most of them are just honest people. And there's a reason they have to do so much studying and then they go through so much rigorous training.

I know it's not as easy as telling you to relax, man. But I think you just need to relax and know that the dentist is not going to kill you.

Speaking of dentists, I should probably brush my teeth real quick.

The fear stems from a dentist I had as a kid, who is the reason for one of the most painful experiences of my life, and the reason I had to get a tooth removed.

I've been to good dentists since, but they still scare me every single time.
