  1. 1. What should happen after 1 million is reached?

    • Start over at 1
      29
    • Keep counting to infinity (count to the next million(s))
      105
    • Count back down to 1 (then back up)
      52
    • Other (pm or mention if you'd like)
      15

Did anyone else hear that the reason the DSi had no GBA slot was because it would have been 3mm more?

Do you all think that was a good move or not?

Half-Half, to be honest. It removed retrocomptability, which was useful for a few games of the DS, but I don't really mind it because I have a normal DS.

Originally the DS, and the GBA were supposed to be side by side consoles, but the DS did so well they killed the GBA.

They still could've boosted sales massively by including the slot in later DS revisions.

So anyway, how many times is it possible to upgrade existing hardware to make a new console? The Sega Genesis is basically an much-upgraded Master System, which is why it was backwards compatible if you used the Power Base Converter.

Backwards compatibility is more expensive than it seems, even when technically the console has power.

It could have stayed, but for whatever reason, they removed it when the DS-i was released

It's easier now then it was in the past. Now a days they are using emulators to support old games. EX: The Xbone is getting an update that allows it to play 360 games.

Good point Lighty. After all, the original backward compatible 20GB PS3 cost $499. They cut the price by removing the PS2 hardware.
