We have squirrels, ponies, etc and as a subscriber I can make my own.

So the pilot wanted a bird.

He wanted something special.

I know that geese can be found flying quite high and wondered what held the record.

 

A bit of internetting later and I had found the Ruppell's Griffon Vulture.

The highest recorded flying bird.

How was it recorded?

An aircraft at 37000' ingested one into an engine.

Poor birdie.

 

Maybe something else has flown higher, but if it's not recorded ir doesn't count.

I suppose it would be possible for a bird to be caught in an updraught in a storm cell (Cb) and be carried upwards to higher height, but you could argue that it didnt get there under its own steam
