Oh I know why my PS3 froze. I was in a heavily populated area with lots of cops trying to kill me with invincibility. Lots of explosions and stuff. I think it just tried doing too many calculations and locked up. You put 40 NPC's in a PS3 game and you're bound to drop frames. If I spawn 300 bandits in Skyrim on my PC, the game will probably run at 5 FPS if it doesn't crash. 

 

And of course your PS3 lasted longer than your laptop Rising. Anything that's portable will degrade faster than something that isn't. A laptop usually lasts me about 2 to 3 years. I can probably make my desktop computer last til 2018 or even more. Desktops run cooler and they don't get thrown around like a laptop does. And since they're modular, things like the speakers, monitor, keyboard, etc are much easier to replace. Internal parts like hard drives, RAM sticks, CPU are also easier to replace. If the CPU goes out in my laptop, I've got to scrap the whole thing. It will never work again. The CPU is attached to the motherboard; not plugged into it. Same thing happens to my desktop, I shell out $140 for a new CPU.

 

Same thing goes for a PS3 except that you can't fix it. But it doesn't get thrown around like your laptop does. You never really move a PS3 so odds are it'll last longer than a laptop ;)

 

I've had my current laptop since around August 2012. The battery isn't charging anymore so I can't take it anywhere anymore. I can't find a replacement battery and the battery itself may not even be why it isn't charging. But nobody's carrying spare parts for this laptop so I can't fix it even if I tried. I'd have to buy one like it and salvage it. But what's the point in that? It'd cost me just as much to do that and I'd have to go through the trouble of parting it out so I might as well just replace it, ya know? Laptops are a bitch to take apart :derp:
