Happy not Halloween CTaM.

Trying to help my dad set up a new TV, and running into the usual problem with him. He either doesn't know what he's talking about, or he does know what he's talking about, but is so bad with words and explaining things that it sounds like he doesn't, and I can't ever tell which it is at any given time, either way it sounds like he's speaking gibberish.

In this case, he didn't know what he was saying. The problem is the TV isn't recognizing that the Cable box is plugged in, and his solution was to...Cut one of the end prongs off the power cord? That has nothing to do with the Cable box, and did nothing.
