I can produce THE true southern American accent like you wouldn't believe.

But I watch so many Russian car crash videos that I'm pretty familiar with cyka blyat. :derp:

Я говорю немного по-русски

I speak a little Russian. I'm not learning it for long, half a year, maybe one year.

According to the app I'm learning Russian with I should know around 600 words now. I can form simple sentences, read Cyrillic somewhat fast and understand spoken words, if i know them. I'm also starting to understand how the grammar works.

I think it should be enough for a tourist, but ofc i want to master the language :D

Here's what I know about Russia:

Bad drivers

It's cold

Vodka

You don't invade Russia. Nobody has ever successfully invaded Russia. If anyone says, "Let's invade Russia," you fire that man.

They are still at war with Japan, technically. World War II is technically ongoing. Or something like that.

The cars are bad. At least those from the 60s. I remember a Top Gear episode where they covered communist cars. Jeremy Clarkson was talking about the Lada Riva and how it had "aluminium" drum brakes. He said "aluminium has about the same braking properties as cheese.

That's about it, really.

I speak German, English, French and Russian. And little pieces of a few other languages.

As for dialects, I speak both Erzgebirgisch and Sächsisch ; but none of the two perfectly. My dad was Saxon and my mom Erzgebirgisch, thus i kinda mixed both dialects xD

Yup, big difference. Not only in dialect, but also in culture.

@rdluvrd00d44 re: bad drivers

Make dash cams law in the USA and then say that again :P

But i always find it funny talking to people from elsewhere in Germany and user everyday words and they are like "what's that?" And then you realise that word you've always used is not German but Erzgebirgisch xD

Like when I say Bemme, that's a slice of bread... I think in standard German it's called a Stulle. Or "Schmiech" for "Zollstock" xD

So ridiculous xD

Anyway, i need to sleep, cya tomorrow

Dash cam owner here. Basically in any urban area, you will encounter no fewer than five bad drivers a day. Hell, I walk around the campus I work at and it doesn't even surprise me anymore how many close calls I have while I am in a crosswalk. I almost got hit by a truck. I would've if I didn't look behind me at the last second. It's not that hard to look out...

But yeah, I film bad drivers somewhat frequently.

There she be.

That thing has nearly saved my skin a time or two. Fortunately, I'm attentive enough and my reaction time is still quick enough that I've been able to avoid every near miss.

I feel like you should qualify for a discount on your insurance premium or something like that for having a camera. It would incentive more people to get them and I'm sure if you have a dash cam, you're more likely to drive safely. I mean, you aren't just recording everyone else. :P

Tldr: I didn't say only Russia had bad drivers and dash cams are great.
