Well, if you think about it, cut down to real life the ponies in a way already are robots...maybe more accurately part of a computer program.

I have a firm belief, that if there was a way to travel to different universes, that we could in theory find Equestria, and the ponies.

That's a very good theory, Smash. I toyed with it a while ago as well.

 

I believe we could more feasibly make fully-immersive Matrix-like virtual worlds in the near future, hopefully before this century is out. We'll one day have an advanced virtual world that looks like Equestria and we could all be together while we let the robots do the work in the real world.

One aspect of that, that keeps playing in my mind, is if such a thing was possible, would it be similar to the mirror used in EQG, where we would travel to that universe, and become that respective species?

My feeling is it would appear exactly how it's pictured, but three-dimensional. That, and we would all probably be ponies.

If we're talking about real universes bound by the laws of physics, then I think we'd be the same as we are here. I think that would be more feasible through an outside actor such as magic or technology (whatever exists in said universe).

 

If it's Equestria, and that's how its magic works, that's probably what would happen. It wouldn't be the universe itself but the magic inside of it.
