movies/tv Anime/TV shows you TRIED to like but really didn't?

After my thread on videogames you tried to force yourself to like, I can't believe I didn't think of making one about anime/TV shows until now.

So, what anime/shows have you TRIED to like but really didn't enjoy it?

Personally, I couldn't get into Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan). It's a personal thing. I liked it, but I didn't enjoy it as much as I should of. At some point I felt like I was forcing myself to watch.

Another that I tried to like is Fairy Tail. Wasn't my cup of tea. Forced myself to episode 50 and gave up.

I always liked Science Fiction. And since I'm a huge Star Trek and Stargate fan, I thought checking out Battlestar Galactica would be a good idea. I wanted to find another franchise that I could possibly like, since Star Trek won't have a new show for a while and Stargate probably never. After I read some articles and stuff, I found the concept quite interesting, so I started watching.

And I watched... and watched... and watched... Halfway through the first season, I realized that it wasn't as appealing as I expected. The whole thing was not as interesting as it could have been. The camera was not the problem (one of the most criticized things about it) and also not the ideas. But the actors and the style... *sighs*

It was an interesting concept, but soon I was bored as hell. So I stopped watching after I finished the first season and the season two opener. I just wanted to be sure that it didn't improve in a way that was more appealing to me. It didn't and so I don't like it. I simply can't.

I tried to watch any shoujo anime like Shugo Chara, Toyko Mew Mew and others, but I find them borning with little no action. The next thing I knew, I decide to watch shouen anime like Fairy Tail and Soul Eater. I enjoy it more than Shoujo anime.

Oh, I also tried to get into Adventure Time because it was so popular. I watch the first few episodes and stop somewhere between episode four. It wasn't my cup of tea because I miss the old Cartoon Network shows like PPG and Ed, Edd n Eddy.

For TV shows, The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad. The first season of Walking Dead was very good, but the second season was so awful I gave up. Breaking was decent, but Walt isn't a very likeable person.

As for anime, Code Geass and Death Note. The first season to CG was okay, but the second season was pretty bad. I like to call Lelouch Ledouche. And Death Note is plain stupid. The series is so pointless it boggles the mind.

I tried to get into Soul Eater. It is a good show, but it did feel like I was forcing myself to watch it. Every now and again I watch another episode, but it's not a regular thing for me.

As for regular TV shows, I know a bunch of people have started watching Littlest Pet Shop, as well as MLP, but I was literally so turned off by the first two episodes, I didn't want to watch any more of it. I've watched a couple more episodes since then, but I'm still not feeling it. The only thing really keeping me coming back is the theme song. It's rather catchy. :)

Oh, and The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad. I only watched a few episodes of The Walking Dead, and I may continue at some point. As for BB, I liked the concept, but I never got into it.

I tried really hard to get into Adventure Time.

I KINDA see why people like it, I like it's creativity and the designs are kinda cute, but..
IT'S JUST SO BORING!
The animation looks really plain, I don't really find the jokes that funny (It kinda feels like "Oh look! A random thing! LAUGH!" to me), the characters just feel really flat (Apart from Jake to an extent, but I mainly say that because I love John Dimaggio).

I think the only episode I really liked was the episode which had George Takei as a talking heart.. But that's just because George Takei is awesome :P

But still, I can see the appeal it has for other people.. But it's just not for me.

Have a nice cold pint, and wait for all this to blow over..

Neo Ranga. This anime is all over the place. It looked cool on the front but it really isn't all that great. I can't bring myself to finish it.

Also, any non-animated TV show. I don't know why but in 99% of all cases I cannot bring myself to care about TV shows of any kind that are not cartoons or anime. Exceptions include stuff like That 70s Show or Burn Notice.

POKEMON  I am soory. I just could not survive the way they talked like. "pikachu dodge it" when i was 6 I even asked "why do they scream the order to everybody isn't it very stupid?" the games was nice, but the tv program made my head hurt. :(

Grew up with games instead.

A bunch of these new sitcoms on Sky1 come to mind as TV shows I tried to like but really didn't: to name two

Spy- This guy gets recruited to MI5 by mistake: I like the concept but I found one of the characters annoying enough to not want to watch it anymore.

Trollied- This has quite subtle humor in a way, it’s not a big roll on the floor lol sort of sitcom. It’s more of an observational realistic sort of sitcom (in a way). I appreciate that sort of humor and thought it might be good, but I didn't really ‘get it’, and watched something else half way through episode two.

As far as sitcoms go: for UK sitcoms I don't think you can get better than BBC or Channel 4 made stuff myself.

As for anime: I can't really name any as I'm not really into it

Death Note. I mean, the first 13-15 episodes or so were really good, but after a plot twist and the introduction of a few new characters, the entire thing got boring and utterly stupid.

The format of the series definitely changed after that point. I only ever read the manga but I don't think the anime was any different.

I won't say I didn't like the second half but it was so utterly different I had to get used to

L being dead. Since there wasn't really anyone around to openly challenge Light anymore there wasn't nearly as much hijinx and it just turned into more of an action show

I tried watching Naruto and I just couldn't get into it. I mean I liked it but I wasn't really inspired to keep watching it. I also tried watching Star Trek which I thought would be pretty good. Nope, I just didn't enjoy it.

Oh an by the way all of you talking about Death Note in my opinion it did the opposite of what you said it did in the second half. It added some cool, interesting characters, made the plot a lot more interesting, and was actually really good. I don't see how you can call it "utterly stupid" and definitely not boring. It was so interesting that I watched the last 15 or so episodes in a row.

I know L was great and him being dead did kind of put a damper on things but it was kind of cool to watch Near work from the shadows trying to stop Kira. Also Near is voiced by the one and only Cathy Weseluck who voices Spike and the Mayor

Phineas and Ferb (Or however you spell it)

I tried to get into it because my friend kept talking about how amazing it was, but I just can't stand it personally. It makes absolutely no sense to me, and personally I find it kind of stupid. The two main characters are like, ten or something (I don't know for sure) and somehow they're able to make all these inventions that most of the time are impossible to make? I just don't get what's so good about it...

I tried watching Supernatural, but really didn't like it at all. Its been so big the past few years, but I just can't get into it.
I'm also a huge fan of Gundam, and I've seen most of the series', but there's something about Seed that I hated :L

loved Death Note. The first few episodes were simple enough, and after that it gets ridiculously over the top, but that just made me love it even more. All the plot twists and new characters made it better for me haha.
After I watched all of the episodes and films, I consider Death Note my favourite anime.
