I haven't played Zoo Tycoon since the first game and I absolutely adored it. This one looks like everything it was and better and I like the idea of walking around my own Zoo instead of just the birds-eye view.

Imma have to break out my old Zoo Tycoon!

Someone told me that it's a Kinect game but from what I saw in that demo it seemed completely optional. I hope it is. I've never used Kinect but I will always love a controller over a motion device.

Should be interesting, although I have tried to play Zoo Tycoon 2 and that game was just kind of meh. 

 

I absolutely adored the original game though. I shat a couple bricks when I got the complete collection for Christmas one year. So many well spent hours.

I always heard that. I never played it so wouldn't know for sure but this new one looks like it has everything that made the first one great and more and that intrigues me.

 

I hope it works on Windows 8. It worked on 7!

I didn't have the dino expansion pack, unfortunately. How I got the game in the first place was, well, you know when you borrow something from a friend and they forget about it so it's pretty much yours? Yeah.

I think a lot of us were quite guilty of that actually....... 

I remember setting up several elaborate traps that involved people getting eaten. Especially with the T-Rex and Great Whites.

I don't even remember how I got the game. Maybe it was one of the ones my dad sent me trying to make reparation for not being a part of my life for the first fourteen years. Didn't really help but I got games out of it. xD

 

But yeah. I had both the dino and marine expansion packs. I don't think I have either now though so I'm stuck with the standard game.

 

There was a point where I spent more time organizing my zoo to look pretty (with infinite money cheats, of course!) than getting new exhibits.

And of course I can't download Extinct Animals or Marine Mania for ZT2, the two expansions I still don't have, and can't find physical copies in any store anymore.

Pleasepleaseplease, whoever is in charge of the Zoo Tycoon games, give us a new multi-platform, digital download Zoo Tycoon game with dinosaurs and marine animals. One of the most awesome game series I ever played and I can't even get the full games with all expansions anywhere. Who the hell thought this would be a good idea?

 

"I have an idea, let's make the first 2 games and all expansions CD-only, with no digital download so that it'll become harder and harder for players to find a full copy of the game as time goes on. And then we'll make a sequel, but make it xbox only so ps3 and pc gamers won't be able to play it. GENIUS!!"

 

I am really pissed off right now. I love Zoo Tycoon, but the developpers are being complete dicks.

I do know that situation yeah. I left my Gamecube Megaman Anniversary Collection at a friend's house so never got that back. I also did the same with my babysitter's Tetris Plus and my best friend's Megaman 8. Never on purpose, mind you!

Is it just that they don't have the resources for multiple ports or are they just being exclusive?

 

You would think a game like Zoo Tycoon would at least also be on PC though being a PC series from the start.

It's seriously an Xbox exclusive...that seems like a strange idea. I'll be getting an Xbox One though so whatever.

Zoo Tycoon? Well, now that is some good news that I wanted to hear since we won't be getting another Rollercoaster Tycoon. I guess, I'll have to settle with the Zoo Tycoon which is awesome!

I never really gave Roller Coaster Tycoon a real shot. I think I still have it so I should do that. At the time I was WAY too obsessed with Zoo Tycoon to like it though. It was too different.

I just found my game. I guess I do still have one of the expansion discs though it doesn't say which it is so I'm wondering if this is just two versions of the same game. I recall having the non-expansion version before the complete collection.

 

Aw well. As long as I can boot the game all is well.

I remember playing Zoo Tycoon a LONG time ago.

 

Best thing to do was open all the gates and let the animals fight to the death with each other.

Or spawn a ton of dinosaurs and block the Zoo's entrance so nobody can escape.
