gaming Thoughts About Amnesia & Outlast

Are you sick and tired of being sick and tried about people talking about nothing but First Person Shooters? Well I've got good news for you! I'll be talking about two horror games that will be released around September 7-11 for both games.

 

I've pre-ordered both Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs and Outlast since I'm a fan of horror games, so I thought I'd make a thread and discuss both games since they're both in the same genre and how they both have similar gameplay. I've watched a gameplay demo of Outlast and I'm actually quite impressed, something way better than Amnesia: The Dark Descent. I hope A Machine For Pogs will have major improvements because if they don't, it might just get knocked over by Outlast.

 

From the "Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs Trailer", it contains a short clip of gameplay at the end, which seems a lot of fluid and better animations, but what I'm afraid of is the fact that its just a cinematic render. Most games do that so it looks good but when you play it, it's not like that at all. Outlast on the other hand seems to have motion blur and pretty fluid gameplay since there's a gameplay video for it and its pretty decent, you can even look down and see your body and legs.

 

Outlast seems to have living human beings in it, at least in the beginning of the game. The monster in the demo looked like he could easily tear you apart but whenever you bump into him, he'll just throw you away. There is this scene where at the end of the demo, the person you're playing as had his torso completely ripped off his body as if it was nothing. I'm pretty sure he's not the only monster in the game since I remember seeing a different looking one in one of the trailers for the game.

 

The gameplay for both games look rather similar, but Outlast seems to have better visuals, graphics and textures. It also looks less tedious and bigger maps are loaded compared to Amnesia: The Dark Descent, but since that was an old game it would only be fair to compare it to the new Amnesia, A Machine For Pigs. Outlast also has outstanding animations from hiding in lockers to opening in doors and squeezing past tight areas. (That's what she said.)

 

Theres so many long-waited games coming out during September-October! I'm so excited I could explode and explode again!

I havent seen anything about the new amnesia, personally the first wasnt that scary, it instilled a decent sense of dread but all of that just died when you get a good look at the monsters they're just to wacky and goofy looking for that sense of fear to continue to be there. Justine was much scarier and more intense just from the suitors (I think they were called) on there own. Outlast looks bucking fantastic though. As long as they stick to a decent atmosphere that actually makes the player uncomfortable and Freaked out they should be great but if most scares just come from cheap jump scares like so many other horror games I weep for the genre.

Amnesia not scary? Let me guide you through the wonderful world of custom-made stories. I still stand with Amnesia being one of my most loved games. I don't regret anything about it. Althought the main story isn't scary, i have to agree on you with that.

 

But the custom stories? Man, i should of made a collab showing all the times i went flying backwards into my chair whilst playing them. .

But fix the hiding, you can crouch in a dark corner, face the wall, and put off your lantern. Makes it so pretty much neither a Gatherer or Brute even notices you, they can even bump into you and they won't notice.

 

But still, my undying love for Amnesia has Always been there, i'm a big fan of it. Can't wait!

Ill give you that I actually didn't play any of the custom stories so till I play them I won't debate that but from what I have seen in gameplay on the Yetube I will agree with you there they look a TONNE scarier than vanilla

I'd have to admit that Amnesia is really a scary game that could keep you relaxed for one moment then, scare you while your relaxed. So, I could say that a game like that deserves respect.

I'm too scared to play scary video games alone. That's why I watch people play it, or play it with friends.

Outlast did look pretty good. I have also watched the gameplay demo for it. I wonder how the game itself will be... 

 

I didn't know that there was going to be more Amnesia until I read this... O.o

 

Well, I'll be thrilled to watch people play both games, 'cause they look good
