Casting a sideways glance at Percy, Symphony tried to think of the best course of action.

 

'I should probably make some excuse and leave soon, before things get out of hoof.'

 

"Yeah, I guess it has been." She smirked with a shrug. "I don't mind hanging around for a while if you don't."

He tilted his head and eyes down for a moment, considered it, and darted his eyes back up at her. He smiled happily, "I'd li-" he cleared his throat, "I'd love that..." His smile maintained, the thought of company...or possibly a date, was very appealing to him when he considered how long he had been on his own.

Vincent walked through the streets, trying to think of something to do, something outside of his usual routine. Got to the library? Nah. Go get drunk on the only pony drink he found acceptable (a whiskey called Wild Pegasus, although another brand called the Bucking Bronco had a kick) Maybe later. It was way too early to go get drunk, what kind of wierdo would be hitting the bars already? 

 

It was quite awhile before he spotted something that caught his eyes: a rather colorful ice cream shop. Ice cream wasn`t something the Griffin Kingdoms had in abundance, but he`d had it before and he`d loved it. He though a moment, and even though he probrably shouldn`t have, he walked on in, smiling contently as the door chimed to announce a customer.

Virvidian Shade was a pegasis with a Sweet Tooth.

He did care about ice-cream.

So he visited a newly opened (To him) ice-cream shop. He waited behind a griffin, who was here first.

He slowly went through the doors. He then said a warm "Hello! I've never met a griffin in person before! You seem cool." He said,  smiling.

He continued to wait behind the griffin while smiling happily.

He already knew what he would pick:

Chocolate ice cream and  With an scoop of cookies & Cream.

Sabel smiled cooly as she sipped the water, flicking her wings at both of them.  "I can handle myself just fine, thanks.  I just...  Wasn't expecting that much of a kick.  Look, I'm already feeling better."  She finished her water and set the empty glass down, looking at Percy and Wind with a grin.

 

"And I'm not staying anywhere.  I'll just crash on a roof or something, not like I haven't done it before.  As long as whoever owns the building doesn't know I'm there then it doesn't hurt anything."  The cocky female griffon shrugged and stretched, amusing herself by inspecting her talons.  "A lot cheaper than renting a room someplace, anyways."

Vincent heard the bell ring signifying someone else entering the ice cream place.He wasn`t sure what to get. He supposed mint wouldn`t be a bad idea... although something else might be interesting... hadn`t tried sherbert yet... He blinked as he heard the voice behind him, smirking.  "Most ponies havn`t. Bet you weren`t expecting to run into one at an icea cream place." he joked with a light chuckle.

He said, with a complete honesty.

'Damn, Its cold.' He said, Wrapping his neck, softly in his scarf.

"I like you. I will pay for your icecream, And you don't owe me a single cent."

He smiled.

"Oh! Stupid me! My name is Virvidian Shade, Or just Call me Virv."

"A roof?" A look of doubt formed on her face. "Better idea: you stay with one of us tonight, then we'll find you something better tomorrow."

 

She grinned mischievously. "I mean sure, roof, great. But since we've both got, you know, ceilings, you might as well stay somewhere warm. The offers there anyway."

Raspberry Swirl looked up as not one but two customers entered the shop - a pegasus and a griffin!  She quickly made her way behind the counter, tossing her cleaning rag in the sink as she trotted by it, and cheerily grinned at her two customers.
 
"Hello there!  It's a fine afternoon for ice cream, isn't it?  What can I get you?" She hoped she didn't sound too eager, but she was rather bored from sitting there alone all afternoon.

Percy spoke flatly, with a blank face, "I've got enough room for all of us...Sabel could have the bed...let's be honest, she looks like she could use it. Wind, you could have the couch, aaaand, I'll take the floor. That's if you either of you want to come along, that is."

"You sure tough guy? You don't sound too thrilled with the idea." Symphony said, leaning slightly against the griffin with a somewhat puzzled expression at his sudden deadpan tone.

 

"It's a fair walk back to where I'm staying I guess, I wouldn't mind taking the couch if you think you can put up with me." She added.

He chuckled and leaned back against the mare a bit, "Well, I've not really had company before, so...not exactly used to inviting somepony over. It's not a mess or anything, just new to me." He smiled down at her, "Hope you don't mind the size of the couch, it won't be the most comfortable thing...but cushions might be better than carpet." He continued smiling for a moment, before adding, "Now...putting up with you...hm, might be a chore, but I think I can manage." he smirked.

She jokingly aimed a swipe at Percy's side. "I'll have you know that I'm quite a charming guest, thank you very much!" Came the reply, laced in mock-indignity before she shifted back to her normal tone of voice.

 

"It's got to be more comfortable than some places I've been - I sleep like a filly anyway."

Sabel frowned slightly, her wings flapping as she sat upright on the couch.  "I dunno, I don't want to impose.  I guess I wouldn't mind staying at your place for a night, but I'm not kicking you out of your own bed, forget it."  She looked from Percy to Wind, then back to Percy.  "I'm fine, really!  I'm not some cub that needs babied, I haven't slept in a bed since I left the nest."  

 

What is wrong with me?  Sabel really wasn't sure why she was getting so irritated at the subject - her friends were just trying to help after all.  I don't -want- the concern, they're just being nice...  Argh, why does it feel so weird then!?  "I'll take the floor.  See, I'm not even that dizzy anymore, sitting down for a couple minutes helped."  To demonstrate the griffon stood up from the couch, gritting her beak only a little as she put pressure on all four feet.  "See?  Room's not spinning anymore."

As the stallion behind him announced he would pay, Vincent raised a brow. It was a... strange thing to offer to someone you just sorta met. He smiled though, but shook his head. "Thanks. Really, thanks, but I`d really prefer to pay for my own." Griffin`s didn`t enjoy feeling like they owed someone something, it made them feel dependent, and most wanted to be as independent as possible once they 'left the nest'. He saw the mare come up to the front counter, giving her a brief smile.

As the mare spoke, he let out a brief chuckle. It seemed ethier she was always enthusastic about ice cream, or she`d been bored out of her skull before. "Heh, suppose so. Is a hot day. I`ll have... a bowl of Cotton Candy flavor. I`ll be eating it here, if that`s alright." He had some time to kill, and if the mare was truly so bored as he expected, maybe he could chat her up while he was there.

"Okay. I understand!" He smiled.

"Do you have chocolate and Cookies and cream? I would like it on a cone, and i will enjoy it here." He said, taking out his somewhat big wallet. "I play music, and such. It gets food on the table, and i love it, I donate 1/2  my profits to a charity known as Alex's Lemonade Stand. I do this whenever i can split it evenly, the leftover money goes to myself." He said, trying to also woo the ice cream clerk.

He grinned at both Sabel, and Wind. He looked back to Sabel, and knew why she was behaving that way...all Griffons had a tendency to be stubborn creatures, sometimes more often than not. He shrugged, knowing it wasn't worth the argument, and looked back at Wind. "Alright, troublemaker here gets the bed," he smiled at her, to show he was joking, then looked back at Sabel, "and you'll get the couch, and I'll take the floor." He made sure she couldn't argue it this time, "And don't say you don't need the help," he grinned, "You still look very worn out from something. You're not hurt, are you?"

"Vengeful Celestia!" Chuckled Symphony, placing a hoof on the Griffins shoulder and giving her a playful shake. "Just say 'yes' or we'll still be here come tomorrow!"

Sabel rolled her eyes and sighed.  It was still too much charity for her tastes, but she couldn't refuse now.  That would just be rude.  "Alright, I'll take the couch...  And I already told you I'm fine!"  She did her best to put on a friendly, if somewhat annoyed, smile.  Why won't they just drop it already?  She had already decided they weren't going to find out about her leg.  It was her own fault, and she didn't want the pegasus to feel bad about it.  I'm the one who was sloppy enough to get taken down by a pony.  "So where is this place of yours, Ace?"

Percy smiled at Wind, "Well, you needed a break from being such a tightplot." He laughed at her for a moment, and sighed, "It really has been fun. Now let's head out, huh?" He lead the two of them outside, and grew a mischievous grin as he darted his eyes at Wind, swooping her up and throwing her on his back, then taking flight. "Hope you enjoy the view, hon'!" He chuckled, looking back at Sabel, "C'mon Sabel!"

"Huh? Wha...!?" The crystal mare managed to say before being lifted off.

 

'I'm going to kill him. I actually think I'm going to kill him.' She thought.

 

It had been just over two years since she had last flown: and even then it was on a fractured wing at that - in terrible agony. The wind through her mane was something that she had never quite forgotten but a memory was so much duller than the real experience...

 

'I'm still going to kill him...' Her internal monologue continued.

 

She had never been so big on flying but after so long... it was something she would have never thought was particually important to her until she had been unable to do so any more. Even then, circumstances meant that there were more pressing issues at the time - it was only later that she had chance to lament the permanent injury.

 

'Stupid griffins with their feathers and their flight and stuff.' Her mind grumpily conceded as she determinedly kept her smile as reserved as possible.

With a laugh Sabel took off after the two of them.  She could keep up just fine in the air, and she flew in close to Percy and Wind.  She rolled so that she was flying upside down for a moment, mostly just because she could, and she flew over Percy so that her head was hanging down next to Wind's.  "Pretty nice, isn't is Sparkles?"  The young griffon laughed and rolled away again before she could crash into anything, pulling up just a little behind and under Percy.  Doubt he'd drop her, but may as well be in place to play catcher.  Never know when a clothesline might jump out of nowhere.  She snickered to herself at her own joke, following along quietly.

Percy looked back at the mare, she looked like she was trying to hold back smiling, so he simply smiled happily at her, in hopes that she was actually enjoying this. 

 

In time they arrived at Percy's apartment, he flew in through the balcony door, which he left unlocked for just one reason. It was better than taking the stairs. "Welcome to the home!" He set the mare down.

"It's been a while!" Symphony, tried to shrug casually. "Pretty fancy moves there, for a cat." She teased as she watched Sabel.

"Huh." She gasped slightly as they landed. Still deciding on whether Percy deserved the extent of her wrath, she cuffed him gently on the side before looking inside. "Nice place you've got here."

He leaned against the mare, "Hope you liked the flight more than you do the apartment...I did that for you..." He smiled at her, not particularly expecting any sort of 'thank you' or acknowledgement for his deed, but more so, a sarcastic comment in return. He'd be happy with either.
