Dude, with all due respect, by making everybody use only one of two different weapons, and have to be U.S army, you`re extremely limiting the potential for variety.

Oh, well, RPers are imperfect as storytellers. I might join this if I wasn't too occupied just because HOLY-CANOLI AN RP WITHOUT PONIES!! Y'know, shock value. That kind of thing.

Then what would you like to see, I can add the: M2 Flamethrower, Trench gun, Browning 1919, Springfield, and a US Army Medic. Sound good?

That`s much better, thank you very much.

BTW, if this RP kicks off, will it only cover D-day than? Not going past it. Just wanted to know before I thought of signing up.

Its still with poines :P I made this RP (started brain storming) on June, 6 which was D-Day because I thought it would be respectful to those who lost their lives on that beach.

That`s much better, thank you very much.

Nope! we can do, USMC, 101st, and the wars they fought in, it will be HUGE. I just need time to study the battles first so im not guessing.

Actual RP is here http://mlpforums.com/topic/67425-d-day-june-6-1944-roleplay/ I did not make the new changes (new weapons) yet, I dont have alot of free time anymore.

Name: Line 'Storm' Walker

Rank: PVT

Blood Type: A-

Branch: US Army

MOS: Infantry

SS#: CD 9451 0221

Backround : Walker had no interest in joining the military when the war had first come around. His interest in what Germany was doing over in Europe was something he felt that they should stay out of...

Of course, they couldn`t have stayed out of it forever. The war ended up coming to them, and after hearing of Japanese planes bombing thier harbors, learning of the destruction... he had to sign up.

A side note appears in the Earth Ponies file, a psyche report:

While Pvt Walker appears all and all mentally sound, it should be noted that during training exercises he appeared to have a deeply rooted hero complex. During combat exercises, he could be seen putting the mission at risk to save squad-mates/ 'civilians'. While this could be seen as admirable, it is possible that, if put in charge of a unit, he could make a poor decision, ending in the failure of the mission/destruction of said unit. It is in my opinion that he is kept out of any form of command position.

How`s this?

Why can't I be a Canadian? The Canadians were at D-Day, they landed on Juno beach. It'd be much easier to roleplay since I'm canadian myself.

I understand, alot of great men were in D-Day from different country's. But this is Omaha Beach. If you want to enlist, then enlist but if you want me to do something like that then give me the battle and everything, i'll watch some videos and do some research and see what im able to pull out of my ass ;)

There were only 3 countries that landed on the beaches at d-day. Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Name: Aatos "Bow Quiver" Järvelä

Rank: PVT

Blood: AB-

Branch: US Army

MOS: Infantry

SS#: EC 1839 0973

Background: Järvelä was born in April 13, 1917 at Vaasa, Finland. He had a father (1887~) and mother (1891~), along with three siblings: one older brother (1916~), and two younger twin sisters. (1922~) His father worked as an architect.

They were living in a very tumultuous time. There was conflict between the Finnish government, and in 1918, the Finnish Civil War broke out. Fortunately, the White Finnish troops won, and the Russians were the least of their problems for now. Though Finland went through reformation after the civil war, his father and older brother decided to move to the United States. They originally planned to stay for a few years in America to get rich before they returned to Finland. In June 1929, they moved to the United States and boarded passage to New York.

That's when the bad news struck them, and struck them hard. Within a few months in the United States, the stock market crashed and the United States went through a Great Depression. Despite this, however, they did decide to stay. America was everything they thought of; despite the Depression, the buildings and streets were modern, automobiles were going around the streets, and it was technologically advanced contrasted to their homeland. They even tried to bring their other family relatives to America. His father eventually found an architectural occupation.

Aatos, then living at Peekskill (north of New York City), graduated from Concordia College in 1939; he gained his US citizenship in 1940. At the same time, World War II broke out, and though the United States was not involved in the war until the bombing at Perl Harbor, the Winter War occurred, which was a war fought between the Finnish and the USSR. Angered by this event, he had considered going back to Finland to help his people fight against the USSR, but changed his mind when he saw that the Finns have defeated the Russians in early 1940. Added by the fact that several of his people were killed in Stalin's Purge, he had developed a strong hate against Russians, going to the level that he insulted and discriminated them.

During this time he worked as a writer, though he mostly wrote about historical events and poems. When he wasn't writing, he would sometimes go hunt with his Lee-Enfield Rifle. (imported from the British Empire) However, in 1941, Pearl Harbor was bombed, enraging the American populace. Aatos was later drafted into the U.S Army in 1942; his actions were at first watched in fear of betrayal, since the Finnish supported the Axis during the war.

Now, in 1944, Aatos chosen to be deployed at Normandy, France. Whatever the enemy might bring him, he's ready.

Weapon: M1903A3 Springfield. Experience with carbines and rifles, weak at light machine guns and sub-machine guns.

Other Notes:

  • Before the civil war, there was technically no Finland; it was considered to be part of Russia.
  • Finland supported the Axis until 1944, but mostly to take down the USSR. They didn't have very good relations with each other before and during the war, honestly. After that, Finland began to oppose the Axis and take down Nazi Germany in the Lapland War. They still went against the Allies, however.
  • If you're asking, the Finnish completely owned the Russians in the Winter War and also owned the Germans in the Lapland War. And the funny part is that they had MUCH less troops than the Nazis and the USSR.
