Editors/Pre-Readers Wanted

Alright, now that that troll has been dealt with, its probably safe for me to start this thread.

I've been reading and writing for most of my life; I wrote my first Kirby fanfiction when I was ten years old. I actually managed to get some recognition in my final years of highschool, when I wrote some moderately high-profile stories based on cancelled series such as Kappa Mikey and Mega Man Legends. But when I entered college, I stopped writing all fanfiction because I just didn't have time for it.

I've written some original works since then, but mostly left writing by the wayside. But now I want to change that. And what better way to get back into the writing habit than by integrating ponies into it? So I started work on a fanfiction currently titled "The Glowmelon Mystery", which I've recently completed half of.

Before I continue on to the second part of the story though, I want some feedback on what I have done so far. As I said, its been a long time since I've written, and my work is probably pretty sloppy. Plus, I've only been into ponies for two months now, and don't know as much about the world and characters as some of the members here would know. Which is why I am humbly requesting that a person or two read what I have done so far, so I can know what I should change or avoid doing in the future. Punctuation, capitalization, characterization... all those "ations", really.

I thank you all in advance. If you are interest in helping me out, say so in this thread and I will PM you with a link to what I have currently done.

Edit: To be specific, here's what I'm looking for.

1. Someone who is willing to read the story (duh)

2. Someone who can find punctuation, captilization errors, and the like

3. Someone who would know if a character was acting too OOC

4. Someone who would know if I am portraying the world incorrect

Even if you could only help with numbers 3 and 4, your help would be welcomed.

A mystery? I like mysteries quite a bit actually. If you want me to, then I would love to help you out.

You didn't mention what you were looking for in an editor though, so I am not sure that I would be a good fit.

On the plus side, I do a lot of writing (mostly sales copy and technical stuff though). I also spend a lot of time editing as well (all kinds of things for just about everybody that I know).

The only downside is that I haven't actually read any fan-fiction before. I don't have anything against fan fiction, I just never really ran across anything that interested me.

Just going from the title though, I am interested in your mystery. Perhaps i could help?

  • 3 weeks later...

I'm a writer, and I rarely have mistakes or anything regarding grammar and punctuation.

I'm not saying I'm better, I'm just..

Nevermind. Forget this entire conversation ever happened.

I'd like to help. I could help with all four points.

Twilight Sparkle is best pony, and I'm willing to explain logically for that to be true!

By the way, mine and Twilight's personalities have a lot of similarities, maybe hardly any difference. I checked.
