Ten, although very sleepy, felt like he had one last thing to do. He gingerly slipped out from under Riza's wing and stood up shakily. He walked outside the tent and quietly watched the conversation going on with the three ponies. <I must be hallucinating, who is that?> he shook off the thought and quietly slipped into Rain's tent to dropped a small brown package on her sleeping bag before ninja-ing back under Riza's wing and falling asleep.

Rain had found a little stream along the way and excused herself to dive in and wash off, leaving the other two to talk to one another as she splashed around.

Six heard a splash some ways off, he couldn't see though, he stood up and slowly walked until he came across a stream, still not finding the source of the noice, he called out quietly, "Who's there?"

(lol, nice ninja'ing) *Riza felt the movement under her wing and uncociously pulled her wing closer and dragging Ten over so that they were right up next to each other. Riza extended an arm over Ten and hugged him close.*

Rain heard Six's voice and perked up. She flew out, her wet mane and coat sticking to her. "Guys! Over here!" she said, and she landed in front of Six.

"WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU?" she yelped worriedly, hugging him quickly as she remembered she was soaking. "Oops, sorry..." she muttered, leaving a big water stain where her legs had been.

She heard the other two. "Right here!"

"I don't know how to put this in words..." she sighed. "Six, I never meant to hurt you like that. But Shadow needs me more than you do. He'll die without me. And I can't do that to anypony."

She sighed and looked down. "It's not that I don't like you, Six, but it's more like....a brotherly love. With Shadow...I feel more like a protective figure, even if he protects me more than I do him."

"It's not a question of loving one of you more...because I feel different about each of you. Can you understand that?"

She looked at him. "You're kind, and brave, and strong, and one of the most talented ponies I've ever met. You don't deserve a selfish washed-up mare like me."

Rain closed her eyes and turned her head. "You;re lucky you have no one to love anymore, Six," she said sharply. "It hurts way more than being alone, okay?"

She rose suddenly. "I didn't CHOOSE to fall in love with anypony. This journey was supposed to make me an adventurer! I wasn't lying to you at the time. I really DID mean it. But I'm more mature now, and I can't just desert somepony and kill them. It's not right!"

She noticed the tears falling. "Oh god, please don't," she said, also tearing up. "You don't want a mare like me, Six, okay? You deserve so much better...I'm indecisive, headstrong, stupid...you need somepony that can make you happy. And I don't think I can make you happy! If things were different...if Shadow wouldn't die..." she hung her head. "Oh I don't know, okay? I'm sorry I'm so worthless."
