With the Ponies ability to control the stars and moon.

Since unicorns and alicorns can control the movement of a star and moon. Wouldn't that mean the Ponies could use them as super weapons if ever wanted to take over the universe? (Using teleportion magic to go from planet to planet.) Such as sending a star hurtling towards hostile alien planet (thus melting and distorting it.) Or at least threatening to, if they don't surrender?

 

I imagine if they from a canon like universe, they would not be insane genocideal monsters that go around the universe smashing stars and planets into enemy worlds. Not only would they have committed xenocide on a sapient alien species, they also would have wiped out all life on the planet.

 

Also I imagine if Ponies could have such power, there would be others in their universe that would have the same power, to act as a counter balance. Overpowerd is boring you know in fan fiction, and also mutlverse. There's always a counter to everything.

 

Also their power to control the movement of the stars and moon only be their own star and moon. Otherwise they could abuse it.

 

And if the Ponies decide to try to have an interdimensional empire, their magic over the suns and moon might not work in some universes.

  That's a pretty fun thought, and I guess you're "right".

Luna/Celestia is there to make sure things like that wouldn't happen, I would think that would make sense atleast.

Also... Ponies are too nice to think about interstellar dominance. And don't get me here on the villains! The villains want to take over equestria, maybe they would aim higher AFTER that took over equestria, but then they would have to completely rule over equestria first. Which we all know, ain't gonna happen!

Thats one thing I never got. They raise the sun and moon... so where do they go when they're aren't in use?It would also imply that they revolve around the earth and not the earth and moon around the sun. The first models of the solar system were like that. Until folks started realizng that model didn't make sense.

 

Equestria's Solar system has this whole diskworld thing to how it works. maybe its sun and moon are very small?

 

I like to think that the world in Equestria must be in some kind of unstable orbit round it's sun (possibly Discord's fault) so they use magic and the nearby moon to realign everything. This appearing to common ponies as her raising the sun. It would aslo explain why ponies have to manage weather when normally the sun creates winds that carry it about.
