note i had this question perfectly explained but then my battery died "dam you battery   so im going to make this quick.

 

i am a 15 year old girl in 10th grade 

i carry a derpy lunch box to school to spread awareness of the real controversy about the soccer moms ( or whoever ) removing a character because shes disabled not the whole she was created by the fandom thing.  

 

to make a long story short my classmate says the lunch box is "for little girls" and that bronys are weird she dosnt know i watch the show.

But anyway, personally I don't think it's going too far. And even if the show is for little girls, that doesn't automatically classify it as bad. Just try to ignore them. And so what if bronies are weird? None of us are actually "normal", brony or not.

Personally, I wouldn't wear or carry anything pony-related around school, just because I live in a semi-rough area, but I'd have no problem wearing MLP merchandice shirt outside of school. I really don't understand all this controversy surrounding Derpy. It seems TV shows aren't allowed to do anything anymore that doesn't involve making the cast totally-perfect-in-every-way  mary sues.

I see nothing wrong at all with carrying or wearing around merchandise of things that you like, or mean a lot to you. I'm a guy, and over half of the shirts I own for example have characters from various franchises and things that mean a lot to me on them. Carrying around a nifty lunchbox is no different, and I see no reason why you should be faulted for that. Heck, while you may get those few that give you a hard time about it, you may find just as many, if not more people who will be like "Wow, that's so cool, I really like _____ as well!", at least in my experience.

 

I don't really know how to comment on the bit about the derpy controversy though, but hey, if it's something you strongly believe in, then by all means, have at it!

I don't think carrying a lunch box is going too far. However, in 10th grade teens can be very focused on becoming adults and pursuing things that make them feel older and more independent, and sometimes they express that by being "against" things they associate with childhood and vulnerability.

 

They might come back to cartoons in college.

I fail to see how carrying a lunchbox with ponies on it is hardly considered "going to far" especially if it is Derpy.It's not like you're offending anyone around you so if anyone does and uses the weak argument saying Derpy is offensive to disabled people simply refer to other people who act similarly to Derpy.

I think its just fine.. I mean I'm 23years old.. male.. and I work a hard job down at a farm... well I use a Rainbow Dash belt... some days I wear a old MLP shirt and I use a MLP backpack.. Rainbow dash.. its really cool! So that's not far at all...
