((I just realized how awkward it is that Sunset doesn't have anything with her))

Dusk walked with Sunset out of the library and down back to his house. It was 2 stories and quite small. Yet large enough for four people to live in. From the door there was a hall with a kitchen off to the right. and living room to the left. The living room was where Dusk spent so many hours reading, so it had a huge bookcase, couches fireplace, and a window seat. Further down the hall was an office where Dusk did most of his work. He worked for a newspaper. Righting columns, he could just sit and read. Upstairs were three bedrooms. Dusk's room, and two guest rooms. Dusk led her to one of the rooms "This room was here with the house, not really anypony ever stays, so its unused. Might be a little dusty" he added. Vi scurried into the room and began to dust off most of the things with her tail. "Vi is the best" he said to himself. He then fished a house key out of his pocket and handed it to Sunset, "feel free to come and go as you please. Am going to make some dinner, and it should be ready in about half an hour. Any questions?"

After a bit of walking and chatting, the two reached Guardian home. It wasn't a very big house, nor a small one either. It was a cozy two story house that was styled just like any other house. He unlocked the door and entered his home. The entrance led into a small hallway that branched off to the left and the right. To the right was a simple kitchen with a table big enough for four. To the right was the living room. It had a couch, love seat and a small fireplace. In front of them were a set of stairs that led to the second story. On the right side were two doors and on the right one. The first door led into a bathroom, and the second one to a spare bedroom. The one on the right led into Guardians room. "Welcome to my humble home Soaring." Guardian said as he went into the kitchen, "Just make yourself at home."

Sunset was in complete shock when Dusk gave her a key. 
I-I-I can? she'd meant to say it aloud, but she was so bewildered that the words wouldn't fully form.
She followed him to the guest room and was about to say that she could handle dust, but was cut short as Vi scurried around the room, dusting with her adorable little tail.
As soon as Dusk asked if she had any questions, she remembered something.
"Um, n-no questions, b-b-but... Um... I-I have a s-saddlebag still at th-the orphanage... I-i-it's got m-my sketchbook and books..." she mumbled. Sometimes, those seemingly unimportant things in her tattered old saddlebag were what kept her sane. She didn't want them getting thrown out.

"We can head over to retrieve your as soon as you want. Or i can go for you if y-you want. What's your preference?" He said. He looked around the room finally glad it had been put to use by somepony. he was so glad he had managed to convince Sunset to stay, Vi was great company, but conversations were hard with Vi. He was also thinking about dinner, 'I wonder what she likes' he thought

Sunset shook her head slightly.
"N-no, it's o-okay, I-I'll come wi-with you... I-it's a little hard to f-find... M-my bag, I mean..." she mumbled. Knowing orphanages, they would probably want paperwork so she could move out, even though Dusk wasn't actually adopting her.
Her stomach rumbled slightly, reminding her of her hunger. She blushed slightly. 
"M-maybe on th-th-the way b-back, w-we could get d-dinner somewhere..." 
She realized how that sounded in two different ways and her face burned red as her sky blue eyes widened.
"I-I-I mean... l-like... I-I-I-I don't know... I-I-I m-mean... w-we don't need to g-go to a r-r-r-restaraunt or anything..." she stammered nervously.
((Edit OOC: Oops, it seems I missed him saying that he was cooking dinner. Sorry.)

Dusk blushed a little "No i get it, am hungry also, ive been hungrier but, ya i would prefer to eat also. Should be go get your stuff then." Vi jumped down and into Dusk's mane, and looked at Sunset offering his paw. Dusk again led the way down the road to the orphanage, dropping back closer to Sunset whenever they past people. He knew where to go, he had pasted it many times before on his way to work. Even though most of the time he works at home, he still occasionally had to go in. On the way he thought about a restraunt to go to hmmm. He arrived at the door "You ready?" he asked.

Sunset noticed that Dusk came closer to her whenever somepony passed them, but it was fine because she used that as a means to hide behind him. 
As they arrived at the orphanage, she was getting nervous. She tried not to show it, though, and nodded, following him in.
There was a mare sitting at a desk, and as she heard them come in, she spoke, not looking up.
"Hello, are you here to adopt a foal or leave a foal?"
Sunset winced when the mare asked if they were leaving, but forced herself to speak.
"Um... N-neither... Ki-kind of..." 
The mare, upon hearing Sunset's quivering voice, looked up.
"So you've returned from your all-night-and-dayer in the library. Please, do not do that again. This orphanage is responsible for you, we do not wish to get yelled at by the workers in PBIO."
Sunset winced again, ears flattened, and backed away.
"S-s-s-sorry..."

Dusk stepped. "Hey knock that off" he said. "I can see why she doesnt want to be here. Were here to get her things, then we will go." he said. He had delt with many bullies, and standing up for others gave him courage. He turned to Sunset. "Lets go get your things" he said in a quieter voice.

Soaring glanced around. "Oooh. This is nice." She commented. "Hey... uhm... I-I was wondering i-if you w-would be......" She lowered her voice to that of a mouse's. "My.... my..c-co-olt-f-f-fr-friend?" She stammered, blushing so hard she looked like Big Macintosh. "B-but if you don't want to... I-it'd be okay." She whispered. "I'm so sorry." She squeaked almost silently. She hid her face in her mane, her blush overwhelming. She fluttered her wings a little. She was so embarrassed. 'This is my worst mistake. I can't take it back, and I'm gonna get rejected!' Soaring's mind wailed.

 Guardian was in the kitchen putting on a fresh pot of coffee and was preparing dinner by cutting up some carrots. Upon hearing Soaring ask if he wanted to be her coltfriend, he accidentally cut through the cutting board out of shock. His face grew redder than a tomato and his heart accelerated. 'This is it!' he thought. He took a deep breath, stopped what he was doing and ran to Soaring. He stopped in front of her, kissed her on the cheek and whispered in her ear, "Yes." and then just as quickly as it happened he was back to making dinner, shaking from what he has just done. 'IDIOT!' he screamed in his mind.

Soaring blushed more than she had ever done, ever. She stifled a shout. 'Gah... he just... he... kissed... me.. YES! YES!!' Her mind squeaked. "O-oh, my Celestia." Soaring flew upward a smidge. She blinked and smiled brightly. She fluttered into the kitchen. She landed. "You kissed me."

This comment seemed to confuse Sunny even more but she quickly shook her curiosity from her head before trotting up next to Bayonet. "What are you talkin about? You are very pretty there Bay. I can't believe you're surprised other ponies hit on you," She sweetly said with a wink, hoping it would bring a smile back upon her face.

Guardian tried his best to advert his eyes from the happy mare, but it was proving difficult. "I-I did....didn't I?" he said, his voice a little shaky. Just then, the coffee maker made a noise to indicate it was ready. He trotted over to his cupboard and brought out two coffee mugs. He set them down and poured both, "How do you like yours?" he asked, his blush never leaving his muzzle.

"You did." Soaring said. Then she smiled. "So... We're a c-couple now?" She asked, her blushes starting to leave her alone. "How do you like yours?" Guardian had asked. "Any way, I'll drink it." She replied. His blushes were so cute, she couldn't help but blush herself.

"Yes, we are a couple." he says. He takes a jar off of a shelf and, with years of doing so, he takes off the lid, takes out three pieces of sugar cubes, and tosses them into his cup along with a spoon that stirs itself from the momentum, but doesn't spill any. He goes back over to the cups and slides one over to Soaring. He takes a small sip of his and sighs in contempt.

Soaring smiled. "Oh, good." She said. She poured a bit of coffee into her cup. She was thirsty, she hadn't eat or drank since midnight yesterday. She popped a sugarcube into the coffee and took a sip. Mmmm, this is awesome. Everything is perfect.' She sighed happily, coffee always lifted her spirits, but today they already were. She watched her sugarcube floating and slowly melting into her coffee, kind of like her loneliness in a sea of content. Soaring glanced up at Guardian. "You know... y-you're the best thing that's ever happened to me." She squeaked, hot with embarrassment.

((I'm aware... She's just too shy to tell ponies what she wants, and to do what she wants. Like Fluttershy, she's a pushover. Now I think I'm gonna go watch an episode of Fluttershy or two. xD)

Both Sunset and the mare were taken aback when Dusk stood up for the timid Pegasus. Sunset blushed when he said he was going to make her happy. She wasn't sure it was possible... But it was nice to hear that somepony finally wanted to achieve that goal.
"I see. You don't seem to be adopting her, but there is still paperwork. She can go get her things, you stay here and fill it out," the mare said.
Sunset shyly nodded and turned to go up to her room, but turned her head back to look at Dusk. She gave him a tiny, grateful, timid smile.
"Th-thank you... N-nopony's ever c-c-cared  o-or stood up f-for me before..." she said, her voice soft, then turned and started up the stairs to the rooms.
After Sunset left, the mare turned to Dusk, staring at him expectantly with her piercing blue eyes.

(I actaully didn't mean to type that i would make her happy, Oh well it worked out)

Dusk started on the paperwork. 'Yes i finally got a smile' he thought. He hadn't seen a single one. he finished the paper work and waited for Sunset. After a bit he stood up, "am going to go find her" he said to the mare, and walked down the hallway. He was actually nervous someone would bully her or convince her to stay, he wanted to be close, just in case.

Guardians heart skipped a beat when he heard Soaring's words. "I-I-I am?" he stuttered out. His blush intensifying by ten. These feelings that he was getting from just being around her were all new too him. He has never been so close to anypony, even before he left for four years. He took another sip of his coffee and smiled. "I know we just met and now we are a couple, but...for some reason, it feels like I have known you forever." he said looking into her eyes.

As Dusk did the paperwork, the mare narrowed her eyes at him. 
"Are you some sort of miracle worker? None of my business, but I've never seen her smile. Nor have any of the workers or orphans here, or the ponies on Prince Blueblood Island, and most of them have known her all her life. None of us have seen a single smile from her. Just tears and a mane covering her face."

Meanwhile, Sunset trotted up the stairs and found her room, trying to ignore the stares of the younger fillies and colts, as well as workers. She went to her bed - a cot in the corner. Given that it was a larger and more inhabited orphanage than the previous one she had lived in, she had to share, and she had gotten the cot, rather than a bunk. She let out a squeak as her roommates glared at her as she entered.
"J-j-j-just getting m-my st-st-stuff..." she whimpered. Looking around her tiny space, she gathered her few belongings and started out the door.

Soaring smiled. "You are." She felt as if she could walk on air. Without her wings. Soaring was so happy, she had forgotten what loneliness was. Guardian's words surprised Soaring. "Known me forever? I feel that way too! Maybe we have a connection. Like the Mane Six. But if we do, what could it be?" She asked, taking another sip of coffee.

Dusk turned to the mare. " I guess I just actually tried, did you ever do that" Dusk snapped. Dusk tried to sit down, soon his energy made him stand up and begin to walk around. He began to walk down the hall, looking at all the ponies in their rooms. He then went up the stairs.

@, The mare was yet again taken aback, and gave Dusk a suspicious glare as he sat down, then got up again and left the room.

As soon as Sunset closed the door, her roommates - who were only two or three years younger than her - started talking again, loud enough for her to hear.
"Did you see her? She looked all shy and sad, like always. Pathetic."

"Yeah! Nopony here likes being an orphan, she just has to suck it up. Besides, she's the oldest pony here. While that's even more pathetic, she should stop moping around and help the little brats."
"Yup."
Sunset sighed, ears flattened.
"I can hear you... and I'm sorry..." she whispered, staring down at her scarred hooves. "I'm sorry for being so pathetic and useless..."
Tears pricked her eyes but she tried to fight it as she walked down the hall, turned towards the staircase... and bumped into Dusk.
"S-S-S-sorry," she squeaked, trying to wipe away the few tears that had gotten loose before he could see them.

Dusk looked down"Its fine Sunset dont worry..." Dusk saw the tears. "Oh no, Sunset what happened." he said. "If you don't want to say anything, we can just go." Dusk said kindly. He had a feeling someone had been mean to her again. "Lets go Sunset, lets go get some dinner." He led her back out in to the enterance, and looked at the mare. "Need anything else?"

Sunset whimpered softly and nodded, following Dusk down the stairs. When they got to the lobby, she stayed beside Dusk  to try and remain unseen by the mare. 

 

The mare looked up at Dusk, and smirked when she saw Sunset; the way she was trying to hide her face completely behind her mar=ne, ears flattened, head low, though she wasn't mentally laughing at Sunset in particular, in fact it was the stallion beside her.
Looks like somepony just erased their earlier work, she thought, not realizing that wasn't the case at all.
"No, there's nothing else," she said, cold eyes fixed on the both of them.
