The plague in the Conversion Bureau

In the Conversion Bureau series, is there any kind of consensus on the plague that afflicts the world? Does it have a name? What are it's symptoms? I'm writing my very first fanfiction and I'm using TCB as the setting. I would like to stay as true to the technical parts of it's fanon since I'm going to be tearing the misanthropy in it to shreds.

I don't think there is a mention of a plague in any of the conversion bureaus stories I have read. However I'm not a 100% sure of that

I heard it alluded to a couple of times in various descriptions and on the official guide on EQD. Forget about it, it's cool.

What's a conversion bureau?

A series of fanfics where Equestria exists on Earth and opens up said service to convert humans into ponies so they can live in Equestria.

Eeep! I'm not sure I want to read about humans having ANY contact with Equestria! As yet the only two fanfics I've read were "My little Dashie" (only read a few paragraphs before quitting on it) and the infamous "Cupcakes" which as a veteran author of several guro/vore stories (Original works, not fanficion), I thought to be poorly written and not all that big of a deal.

Do you mean 'red mage plaque'? Or is it 'red magic plaque'...?

It was caused by the thaumatical energy radiation from Equestria's shield. Very deadly in close range, could easily cook your flesh and skins in a short time. Even if you could escape after being exposed, there's a good chance that you will get the nasty cancer-like disease, which is red blotches on your skins, hence the name

I wouldn't completely disagree with your apprehension. Though not for the same reason I think you're getting at. Despite showing the ponies to be just people with hooves in the series, just as flawed and "human" as we are, Equestria is made out to be the garden of Eden. While that may be comparatively true, most iterations cast humanity in an overwhelmingly negative light. We're talking "James Cameron's My Little Pony" at LEAST! That being said, the premise IS intriguing. It's interesting to see how individuals and groups react to the option of becoming a pony and living in this mysterious and magical world. Not to mention the fact that it's sovereign is, for all intents and purposes, a goddess. The amount of misanthropy is a bit disheartening coming from a brony, so I want my first real contribution to the community that has given me so much to be a reconstruction of the premise.

Fillies and Gentlecolts we have a winner! Thanks! I'll need to make some adjustments now to one of the characters afflicted with the disease. . . Pray that my anti-brony brother doesn't get wind of this. I don't think he'd ever forgive me for his *cough* portrayal.

Have you ever read a book called "Tinker" by Wen Spencer? It has a very similar theme. Elf-Home breaks through just outside of Pittsburgh. There is even a character that gets transformed (Permanently) into an elf. She gets royally pissed when she discovers it ruined her fondness for beer!

I loved "Tinker" Here's a link with a synopsis and an excerpt from the first chapter.

The sequel "Wolf Who Rules" picks up directly where Tinker left off. Here's a link with synopsis and except for it too.

I bought "Tinker" on a whim while cruising a used book sale. I loved it so much I did something unusual for me. I ordered "Wolf Who Rules" off of Amazon. I usually like going to physical brick and mortar book stores. Both were well worth it! I love the character of Tinker. She's a young genius something like you'd find in an anime series. The books were quite a fun read. If you look, you can probably find both as Ebooks too.

(I did!)

You're portraying your brother as a red plaque victim?

If there's anything you would like to ask about TCB universe, I'm pretty sure those weirdos in TCB thread at ponychan would love to answer.

A) It's a happy ending. (That's all I'm saying. )

2) Well if there are weirdos on that thread, I think I'm better off getting my info here.
