immblueversion 331 November 26, 2013 Share November 26, 2013 I did something bad today. I saw an old man in a wheelchair at the end of a ramp leading up to a bus. I stopped and asked him if he needed help getting up. Before he could respond, I walked up the ramp, thinking I'd miss the bus. But there was no bus for several minutes. And all that time, I didn't go back down to see if the man was still there. Soon the bus came, and the old man in the wheelchair was pushed up by another old man. The two said something to each other as they passed me. I couldn't hear what they said, but I'm sure what they said was meant for me to hear. The man was pushed past my bus. I got on and drove away, but I couldn't see him, and I never did again. Even after watching the show and learning to better myself, I still did something like this. So you may tell me I screwed up. You may forgive me, or berate me. You may even tell me your own stories if you'd like. But please, don't make the same mistake I did.
Derpaholic 1,155 November 26, 2013 Share November 26, 2013 (edited) Where does this notion that becoming a brony magically turns you into a saint come from? Just wondering. There's more hate and intolerance in the MLP fandom than any other fandom I've been part of.You feel shitty for doing what you did, and that's a good thing. It means you have shame.Look, we all make mistakes, and mistakes are an integral part of life. It's up to you to learn from them, and not to repeat them.Besides, this reads like an honest, human mistake to me. twilight24 323 November 26, 2013 Share November 26, 2013 I lightly scrapped my wrists because I was going through depression and I had traded most of my electronics away. (long story) I thought it'd show people how upset I was and when I showed it to my friend at school I made her cry. That still kills me a little and I am still beretting myself. I once made fun of a kid named Daemon. I called him names and would tease him along with the others. I was bullied very badly and I thought he was a jerk. I still think all he needed was a friend, like me. I could've been that friend. I still wonder about him... I have cheated in past relationships with flirting with other girls online. It's still a problem I must deal with. But you know what? I'm learning to forgive myself and let go. And even when we make mistakes, think of them as life lessons to learn from. You're a good person Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Scootalove 10,689 November 26, 2013 Share November 26, 2013 The lesson here would be, to learn from your mistakes so you don't make the same mistakes. You will have to move on, to learn from the mistake. 3 Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
Not_A_Replicant 109 November 26, 2013 Share November 26, 2013 (edited) Bronyness doesn't change human nature, and thinking that it does isn't smart. Just because you like My Little Pony only will slightly change the way you think. Don't listen to these other Bronies that tell you, "Oh, I was the worst person on Earth untill I watched MLP. It has bettered me so much." A TV show is not going to change a person's point-of-view that much. Where does this notion that becoming a brony magically turns you into a saint come from? I'm probably one of the most intolerant Bronies you will ever meet. Two things I can't stand, Darwinist and homosexuals. I just don't like that word "tolerance." I don't know if I have a misconception about it or what. To me it means that you have to accept everybody and that we all have to treat everyone the same and you can't judge anyone at all. And that everyone is exactly the same. I just don't think that that is a good mindset. Otherwise your labelled as a narrow-minded bigot who acts holier-than-thou. Zygen 6,066 November 26, 2013 Share November 26, 2013 Well, yes if course, i've always done stupid stuff and things i regret and bad stuff and what not, before and after being a brony. Its part of the other thing i am, a human, and humans make mistakes and screw up all the time. All part of life. Whether or not i'm a brony does not change this. Sure the show has good morals and stuff, but i'm still gonna make mistakes, and thats that. Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig! Oh wow, you are well on your way to becoming a full-fledged bigot, my friend. To tolerate other people means letting them live their lives the way they want to live their lives. Homosexuals don't choose to be gay, they're born that way. How does their sexual orientation impact your life by even one iota? They're not looking to hurt you, and they're most CERTAINLY not doing anything wrong. Sure, you can judge other people, but please, do it in your own private time, or if you absolutely insist on being vocal about it, at the very least judge people who DESERVE to be judged. Ya know, murderers, rapists, child-molesters... "Tolerance" and "acceptance" are not the same thing. You can get by in this world without accepting other people, but not without tolerating them. Over and out. Edited November 28, 2013 by Bron-Yr-Aur
LightsCameraAction 100 November 27, 2013 Share November 27, 2013 I can honestly say that the show has not made me a perfect little angel. I love and tolerate all the time, but sometimes you are going to do bad things, and you won't be able to take them back. It happens to the best of us. In fact, I have a plan in place to do something bad, but I am going to go through with it. There are a few kids on my hockey team that pick on me with everything I do. I am going to beat the shit out of them the next time they do something. I have the go ahead from my family, and the little prick won't even know what hit him if he does anything. Anyway, off topic. The point is, just because we like a show that supports being a good person doesn't mean we are perfect.
