  1. There's a rumor that the new changeling in this image is a reformed Chrysalis. If it turns out to be true...best get as used to it as you can now.
  2. According to Box Office Mojo, they reverted the foreign gross from $10 million to $4 million, bringing the numbering for the total worldwide gross down to just barely under $20 million.
  3. I sat next to a mother who was glued to her phone for the first 10 minutes or so. But then it started to pick up, and she started texting semi-frequently to not at all. In the end, she had the same reaction I've seen from other videos made by general audiences: cute and serviceable.
  4. Rotten Tomatoes has announced a consensus: at 64% Fresh (currently outdated), My Little Pony is "fine for its fans". https://editorial.rottentomatoes.com/article/blade-runner-2049-is-certified-fresh/
  5. I'm seeing a review listed for the Washington Post, but it was taken down for being "inadvertently published", probably because it's too early. The title calls it "a gentle, animated adventure with positive messages".
  6. Now we're starting to get more mixed reviews than good. Thought I'd just leave this here in case anyone's feeling down about that: https://www.digitaltrends.com/movies/best-rotten-movies/
  7. That review...gave the film one-and-a-half stars. And you know what else? The exact same review with the exact same author gave it a D+ on another site. http://www.myajc.com/entertainment/movies/little-pony-the-movie-delivers-nostalgia/dx5bKECWRRu4BdMAnqAXRN/
  8. This is only semi-related, but someone from "The Wrap" compiled a list of 10 recommended episodes for people to check out before the movie if they're curious. Gotta admit, some of these choices are unexpected; they even include the original 1984 "Rescue at Midnight Castle" TV special (not that I'm complaining about that), though it does mention that it's separate from the 2010 series (then again, its accompanying image is from the 1986 movie). But when you get down to them, they are very easy for newcomers to get into, which is what I think the writer had in mind. So I have no complaints. https://www.thewrap.com/top-ten-little-pony-episodes-ranked-photos/ Oh, and a review from a bona-fide news article from someone who is actually deeply familiar with the show: http://www.sfweekly.com/film/the-world-of-my-little-pony-friendship-is-magic-gets-epic/
  9. I, too, was familiar with Tempest's backstory. While while I find the execution of that story somewhat flimsy in "Stormy Road", the general idea still comes across as a more solid version of Starlight's story.
  10. Of course it's not a bad score. We're saying that "good" is the lowest critics are giving it so far.
  11. For the lowest review so far, this critic is pretty open to the idea of adults getting some enjoyment out of it. Best part was when she called the Storm King "a cranky cross between Darth Vader and Lou Grant of 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show.'"
  12. Like I said, I'm already planning on seeing it in theaters. I'm even gonna take a friend.
  13. This isn't a review, but... It's not something that bodes well: https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/business/international-business/hasbro-inc-mkm-raises-doubts-over-my-little-pony/articleshow/60939792.cms Bottom line is, the movie is expected by investors to lose $6 million before toy sales come in. I'm no financial person, but we really, really, REALLY should try going to theaters for this one.
  14. Kinda like Discord. ... ...wait... No, the reason the Storm King's isn't redeemed is because he's a bona fide psychopath.
  15. So, I too decided to watch this movie online. Just had a lousy ass day and I needed a pick-me-up. And you know what? I want to watch this again on the big screen. Twice.
  16. Quote from the C+ guy in the comments: "I don't think it was bad enough to warrant a lower grade. It has just too harmless and innocent to give a lower grade."
  17. Nobody really is. But it sure is getting better reception from moviegoers than anticipated.
  18. I believe I mentioned this before, but good word of mouth would go a long way in stirring up interest.
  19. How about some of the bigger YouTube reviewers? Which ones would you like to see take a crack at this movie when it comes stateside? I'd love to see Andre looking at this movie. He checked out the original Equestria Girls and got through it okay. (I'm fond of EG myself, but you have to admit it wasn't MLP's finest theatrical outing.) AniMat is guaranteed to be checking it out, since he he almost exclusively reviews every manner of theatrical animation, and he already found the trailer promising. Though it's kind of amusing that his exposure to EG led to him calling the Mane Six the "Equestria girls". I can see Chris Stuckmann looking into it if it gets enough good buzz. I'd really be surprised if he decided to watch it either way, though. Then again, he also watched the "Max Steel" movie on a whim. (*shudder*)
  20. Actually, I expected this fully. Newcomers don't tend to hold MLP up to the same lofty standards as fans do, and those who go in with expectations lower than dirt are more likely to be impressed with what they find. It's how this whole fanbase started, and now it's likely to draw in new admirers the same way.
