I like the show because of the way it is. I actually liked the darkish mood on season 4 opening but that's pretty much as far into the violent and dark mood if like to see.

If anything, I would not mind seeing a few drama episodes that are sad. It would be cool to see of they made an episode that was actually sad

Well your original post before you edited sounded that way. I personally wouldn't want the show to have more darker episodes. We already have a few dark episodes and that is good enough for me, adding more would just ruin the show for me and it would not be the same show I loved when I first joined this fandom. As many have stated the show is as popular as it is today because of the way the show currently is, changing the show may make it less enjoyable for a lot of the current viewers. Just look at what Twilicorn started, some change started a huge controversy.

If they wanted dark episodes, they should literally just make another show. Call it My Little Pony: Darkness is Magic. Point being, don't change the current show to make it dark but maybe add something else if that's what they want. But I highly doubt they'd do that. Or, they could release official mlp books that are a bit more dark or use the comics to do that. They have a show that is pretty much perfect. They added other things like a movie, comics and books. They could use the other media to do dark things. Hasbro as a business could do that with having minimal whiplash from angry fans and parents.

I would prefer if it was a little less corny and maybe a bit more for older people like mixed in some more detailed and intense romance, drama, detail and what not but nothing drastic. I mean I don't watch it to be serious.

Keep it the same! It would be ruined if it changed towards an "epic and more violent" tv show! I'd rather watch the Walking Dead! Make a new TV show for that, I would say.

I'm agreeing with a lot of people here, I don't think the show should change. While I do enjoy the occassional serious moment on MLP:FIM, it becoming a more "serious" show is just...not my cup of tea.

Remember, even though a HUGE amount of the fans of the show is bronies, little kids DO still watch it! Trust meh! I HAS MAH RESOURCES!

I think the show is just right for everyone right now, and I really don't think they should change that~

I like the show as it is. Besides they do add a little bit of serious in there now and then. A more serious MLP should stay in the fan-works as thats the place where it would have its following anyway.

If your want that, go and watch something that is meant for ogre and violence. Not MLP. I mean, if you really love seeing ponies killing each other, you should be grateful that some people have animated fanfictions such as Cupcakes, and the variation of that, Smile.

They wouldn't do this, ever. How ever aware of the Brony fandom and what they do Hasbro are, they wouldn't invest in that. To be honest, I don't know who would?

I like the show for what it is. The fact that the show doesnt need violence or stuff like that that to be epic is amazing, and for more epic stuff... they have already made some pretty darn awesome episodes and if a kids cartoon can make a 18 year old cry, then I'd say mission accomplished

Friendship is Magic captivated me without trying. The old formula worked perfectly. If they do start to make a conscious effort to appeal to me on some level, it's not going to work out so well. The show's innocent nature is a key part of what drew me into it. Remove that and everything else starts to unravel. Don't try to fix what isn't broken. If I want a change of pace, I'll watch another show.

Dude, I think the fact that it's NOT for adults and NOT action all the time is part of its appeal.

 

Nice little escape, you know, dude? I mean, kinda brings back feelings of nostalgia. Like the time I was 6 and bought a few Barbie dolls so I could play with my 8 year old cousin and her friends.
