Recently I have been very into photography and have just purchased a Samsung NX300 Smart Camera. And I would be pleased to hear some feedback on good scene, photo topic ideas. Or areas O could be looking at for starters. Or in general what anypony thinks about this ^-^

In life when you are given gratitude.

Be accepting and thankful of it.

Because someday you just may be able to pass it on to others...

Well, as an amateur photographer myself, I'm also interested in hearing what the community thinks.

I've found that landscapes are easy to feel good about for your first couple of outings. Especially if you go for a simple sunset or some rolling hills, you don't have to worry about light bouncing off of faces, background colors matching skin/clothes, etc. Landscapes are pretty hard to mess up, though they are challenging to get "right."

EDIT: Night shots can be cool too, though they require a bit of knowledge about how your camera works and a steady tripod. Here's a shot I took after about two dozen test shots with only a mediocre lens (I really need a telephoto lens...)

Hmm... that would a good viewpoint. Though would be able to find alot more suitable landscape shots up north from where I am now. Hopefully I don't forget to pack my camera when I go up north to visit my grandparents for new years xD.

They live on the lakeshore of Hayward,Wisconsin. (When they come up from Florida) So their is a good amount of wide space there. And the snow covered pines could possibly be a good perk for a landscape photo... Thanks for the viewpoint jack ^-^

Edit: Hmm. Do you by a chance know what your ISO was set to for that shot? Because that looks amazingly well stood out :o

I like taking nature shots myself. It's always there, and unless you're taking pictures of wildlife (which can also be really cool), it isn't going to get annoyed at you and move on. You also sometimes come across that one spot that just looks amazing, almost like those nature wallpapers you see online.

Of course, urban shots work fine too. I've got some interesting ones in the past like someone biking in a snowstorm, but most of my favourites were ones that I just happened to stumble upon as I wandered aimlessly through a natural area. It's just a nice place to start and there's plenty of opportunity.

Well I wouldn't consider myself a professional by any means but I've had some experience doing photo shoots, landscapes, etc. I've got a nikon D7000 and  Canon film camera, I can't remember what model. Personally I would figure out what you want to do, people, places, things, etc. Then just start practicing, take as many photos as you like, but don't look at each one, check the first few to make sure you have to everything right where you want it, then just enjoy taking photos, If you have any questions feel free to pm me. I suck at night photography tho, I can show you some shots I've done myself also.
