Steel grabbed a blanket and wrapped it around luna them he worked the fire till it was large enough to heat the room to the point that steel was uncomfortable he was used to the cold steel sent a thought to Grell asking him to make sure lunars guard was with her and ready

Grell smiled "welcome to my room midnight " grell moved so midnight could see the room it was dim and lit by a torch the was placed on the opposite wall a few candles had been lit around the room the melted wax pooling in the skulls the candles sat in I'm the center of the room instead of a bed was a coffins and a heavy curtain coved the right wall he heard steels thought "I'll be right back" he teleported into lunars room he stood on the bed behind lunar...

Storm didn't notice the other pony. He was watching Shadow. He was going over things in his mind. Stormwing decided the guard wasn't going to hurt him or Lunar. "I guess you're alright, Shadow..." He gave him a slight smile. He still was not aware of the pony behind Lunar...

Almost instantly Shadow has his sword drawn and in the direction of the new pony. A million thoughts rushed through his mind every second, who was this, what did he want. Shadow's scholarly intrigue would've gotten the better for him if it weren't for his sense of duty.

 

"If you weren't wearing that armour I would've killed you straight away, even so you have three seconds to tell me who you are before I cut your weight by half!"

Grell laughed and made the armor disappear he hated armor he didn't need it "oh come now you think you can handle the council of nine" grell said teasingly he magicked a scythe the blade was one the ground under lunars head dark twisted lines began to apper on grells legs

Shadow would never think about hurting Lunar, but this had to be done. As quickly as his reactions would let him he grabbed Lunar with his magic and forced her away from the new pony, more towards Stormwing.

 

"Assassins, always so cocky aren't they?" He readied his blade and began to summon his magical strength, before charging the alleged member of this "council of nine," though he was no fool, Shadow was not going to rush into combat all berserk, that would leave him open. He used his magic to propel himself over the pony, before making a very quick and precise swing with his sword towards this newcomers neck.

This happened all too quick for Storm. It took him a second to process what was going on. But when it happened, he twitched. Not visibly, but a little. Something had snapped. He cracked his neck audibly, then grabbed te nearest thing he could, which was a steel bar, meant for decoration.

Lunar growled. "ENOUGH!" she rang out in a royal Canterlot voice. "I HAVE HAD JUST ABOUT ENOUGH OF THIS USELESS BICKERING!!!!" She stomped her hoof down, sending a minor shock wave throughout the room. She hated conflict and this was quite enough.

 

Midnight jumped, hearing her voice across the hall.

 

Luna blinked, feeling Lunar's alicorn powers start to take over. -Great... Someone done made her mad...-

Grell laughed again he loved toying with the new recruits the twisted lines shot up his bad yams stopped at his face his body shimmered and split into nine versions of himself he levitated up and circled shadow "by order of the council of nine I command you to freeze " the original said dark lines shot from each grell and all hit shadow forcing him to stop moving "relax it's just a test and you passed I'm grell Luna's guard " grell said allowing shadow to move again the other grells going back into him

Lunar growled. "I SAID STOP!!!!!!" She used her magic, it ten times stronger than before, and teleported Grell and his council out of the room. The air around them was whirling around her, picking up objects in its whirlwind. Her eyes were pure white and glowing, her wings open and her panting heavily with adrenaline.

He... He froze me? Shadow said, too shocked to even hear Lunar.

 

I'd rather not show this side of myself yet, but... I... No!

 

Shadow began to call upon not his inner control, but his inner hatred, his inner darkness. Such a spell was risky to be sure, but by very definition would be more powerful than he could achieve without it.

Lunar looked at Shadow. She used her magic and unfroze him. She flew up into the air, using her magic to fix all of the things that were broken in her room. Her eyes started flickering, and when they finally went back to normal, she passed out and fell onto the floor with a loud THUD. She was still new in using her alicorn powers; she never really used them due to Luna always being there to protect her.

Grell teleported back In alone "hmmm interesting now relax all of you" grell said he couldn't send thoughts like steel "it was a test shadow passed I'm grell Luna's personal guard"

Steel heard lunar and walked In as she feel he caught her "let her sleep I'll explain later welcome to the guard shadow" steel said

Inside Shadow would've been relieved of not having to use his darkness, if it were not for the soul-searing pain within him.

 

What were you thinking? He thought to himself as he too fell to the floor, grasping his head in pain as the Darkness still threatened to corrupt his soul. Not only could've you killed or hurt yourself, but everyone else in the room! Even Lunar!

 

Once he came to some form of consciousness, he forced himself towards Lunar, limping. he had to know if she was alright.

Lunar was panting hard, a look of both pain and exhaustion on her face. Her wings were limp and her ears flat against her head.

 

Midnight came rushing in. "OH thank heaven's you're okay! I was worried!" She ran up to Grell and hugged him tight. She blinked, letting go, blushing madly. "Eheh I-I mean uh..."

 

Luna walked in. "Is Lunar alright? I felt her aura suddenly get weaker..."

Steel sighed as he laid lunar on her bed "she's fine she's just not used to using her alicorn power so she needs to rest as do you I can feel the dark power inside you me and grell both have a form of dark power as well I have a demon living inside me grell has the council of nine" steel said to shadow

Grell was surprised by midnight "I'm fine just testing the new guard" grell said

A look of anger was across Shadow's face. Now is not the time to discuss my past! Get a hold of the situation!

 

"Testing the new guard?" Shadow met eye to eye with Grell. "Look at what's happened to Lunar!" He calmed himself down, getting angry was so easy after letting himself slip into... Hatred.

 

He grabbed his sword and dragged his still aching self to beside Lunar. He turned to Luna "I felt it too, although never anything like this before," he answered before turning to Steel "are you sure she's alright?"

Midnight sighed in relief. "Thank goodness..." She nuzzled him lightly. "I would have cried if something happened to you..."

 

Luna nodded, raising her eyebrow at Grell and Midnight. -Hmmm... Is he actually getting out of his shell now...?-

 

Lunar's eyes opened a little. She coughed, groaning in pain.

Steel nodded "yes I'm sure she'll just need to rest" steel said "now relax I sent him to test you as head of the guard i wanted to see how you would react to an intruder with grells strength"

Grell nodded he let midnight muzzle him be didn't react to it "I'm not worth i" grell whispered to her them he turned his attention to shadow "I had assumed steel would have alerted her to the test" grell said

Midnight continued to nuzzle him.

 

Luna sighed. "Apparently he didn't. She hates conflict, so when a lot of it happens around her, she goes wild..." She looked at Lunar.

 

Lunar coughed again, looking around for Stormwing. She was in a lot of pain. She needed him.

I'm in no condition to help her now, I can't even control myself! Stormwing has this, and the others will keep her safe.

 

Without another word, Shadow sheathed his sword and walked out of the room, remaining just outside the door as he faced his current predicament. Get a hold of yourself.

Storm was laying in a corner. He got up slowly, shakily. He walked over to Lunar. He gently kissed her forehead. "It's okay, honey. I'm here." He laid down, kissing her forehead again. "Stormy's here." He rubbed her back and nuzzled her, trying to keep her calm so she could rest.

Lunar smiled weakly, nuzzling his chest. She was happy he was there to make her feel better. She had tears in her eyes as she coughed again.

 

Midnight looked up at Grell, blushing a little. She shook her head, continuing nuzzling him.

 

Luna sighed. "Let's let her get some rest," Luna said, taking Steel out of the room.

He nuzzled her. "No tears." He gently wiped the tears away from her eyes. "No more of that fancy magic, either. Let Luna train you in it first." He gently got under her again, then carried her to the bed and set her softly down. "It's naptime." He kissed her forehead. After that, he went to the door and closed it so she wouldn't be disturbed.

Lunar coughed again, watching him. She wanted to be with him forever. He was the nicest pony she had ever met; he was even nicer than Luna is sometimes. She weakly motioned for him to come lay down in the bed with her. She wanted him by her side at all times.
