Critical Sat at their booth discussing the matters at hoof. The new couple met at the age of fillies. Critic found that adorable. He gave a small chuckle at the thought. 'Ah, young love. So pure and innocent. Brings a smile to my face.' Critic took a sip of his drink. And began to let his mind wander. He let it wander to his travels, The temple of the sun, The colonization of the moon itself, and various other planets. But, his mind wandered to the thing he had to start thinking about.

Mr. Critical Began to weigh the consequences of Aixi's proposal. She wants to pass the knowledge of her people unto me. For if she were to fall, her people, will be lost with out a trace. However, agreeing to this will allow Aixi to see all of Critic's secrets. His failures. And what he calls his greatest secret, The Deed to Come. Even thinking of that sends chills down his spine. Critic sat there pondering and pondering. When he came back to reality, Violet was asking if she could join our motley crew of adventurers. Critics mind has made a decision. He will go through with it. For Aixi, and her heritage. He shall speak of this to her when things are more private.

Seeing the two ponies together made Aixi happy, but she felt so lonely herself. She looked back and forth between Critic, Night, and this new comer. Finally picking up her glass AIxi swallowed deeply allowing the bitter sweet cider to sooth her. Jack was always her best friend she thought as she pounded back the glass and slammed it down onto the table. "That one was for you Blue!"

A roar of 'hear, hear and aye' erupted from the table. Aixi smiled at this, she did enjoy drinking with other ponies for once.

The table went back to it's original state of hushed separated whispers. Looking over she saw the new filly down Nights glass, saying he couldn't have any more. This bothered her, and she dared the mare to tell her the same thing..... Aixi knew how she would handle that... and it would not be pretty. Grace and subtleties never had been her thing.

@

Mr. Critical

Off pondering her own world Aixi was brought back by Violet, she was asking to come along. "Critic honey I really need  another drink." She said before answering.

@Night Song,

Diverting her attention back towards the new comer Aixi answered, "You may come along if you wish, But I can not baby sit you, Your life will remain in your hooves. If this is alright with you, you may come along. I only ask that you give it some thought. You have until sun up to be at the INN if you are not there we will leave without you."

@@PurplePony,

Critic poured another glass for Aixi and the others. Except for Night Song. If he wanted another glass he is foing to have to pour it himself. Critic didn't want to bring upon the wrath of a magic user. Not after that bout with the Next Nightmare Moon in this worlds distant future. Oh crap, spoilers.

Critic and the others continued to drink and discuss and honor blue blur and then drink some more... plus more drinking. The others were probably feeling a strong buzz by now. Critic had a high metabolism, even more so than any normal pony should. It would take  a lot more alcohol to get him to start messing with his senses. By Now, the only ones with clear-ish minds were probably Criic and Night Song.

After a while, Critic spoke.

"Okay, where should we begin our little journey. Shall we go along the to the closest town, following the roads, or take a train?"

A path to the objective was what Critic was looing for. He needed to focus. He tried to stay focused but unfortunately Aixi was nuzzling his mane again and it was really distracting for him.

@@PurplePony,

Violet smiles at Aixi, "Don't worry about me Aixi, I can take care of myself." she turns to Night Song, "Isn't that right sugarcube?" she says muzzling him.

Night Song blushed a little, "yes, that's right. Don't worry Aixi, Violet is actually a very strong mare." He says as he muzzles her back.

"Oh but Violet, this is a very dangerous thing we are doing, you will need to tell your family that you may not be coming back, and then you can find me at the inn." He says, more serious than anything.

Violet sighs, "I..I know Night Song, but if you're going to die on this 'journey', then so shall I!" she hugs him tightly.

"Oh and violet?"

"yes love?"

"No more alcohol for you either, and you should go now, while you're still level headed."

"I...ok my love." She says, smooching him then leaving the pub and flying off to tell her family.

Night Song sighs slightly, "I really wanted to have a drink in Blue's honor...besides, I only got drunk once!"

He looks at Violet's glass, "no, best not to, it'll upset her."

He slumps in his chair.

"So, I think we should take the train, for now at least. I'd be happy to pay for a private carriage, so we can discuss things away from prying ears and eyes."

@@Night Song,

"Excellent. We'll make preparations in the morning then."

this was excellent. Critical has always loved travel. Whether it was going to Canterlot to see the screening for a new film, visiting the princesses, or traveling to another planet entirely. 'This is perfect.' He thought to himself. 'A train has plenty of doors the tardis should be able to replace. She shouldn't be fueled up by now, but short range materialization and trans-matter substitution should be no problem. I get a great view of the country, and I have my equipment close by if needed.' Critic sat at the booth with Aixi and Night Song while Violet was off doing... something. But, what caught Critic's attention was that Night Song was eyeing Violet's glass. He wanted another drink, and he knew it too. He really shouldn't. He wouldn't want to cause tension between a new couple. That would be, as rarity would have put it most likely, monstrous and ghastly.  or something along those lines.

Thinking of the two made Critical think. Would he ever be so lucky to find love. Or would he remain alone for the rest of his days. It would be difficult. Do to over exposure to temporal radiation, he does age severely slower. Almost on par with the royal sisters. This made Critical think. 'Well, there is... no, no. She just lost somepony dear to her. It would be extremely rude of me. Besides, Aixi would most likely want to stay friends. That's how it always is. Mr. Critical, permanent resident of the friend zone.' Critic let out a small sigh. He noticed that both his and Aixi's glasses were empty. He poured some for them both, and they were gone within seconds. Night Song looked down. He really wanted some. And like that, Critic did the unthinkable. He looked around the pub and didn't see Violet in sight. He carefully slid the bottle to him. 'What ever happens, happens.' He thought. 'If things get out of hoof, ill just take care of it.'

@@Mr. Critical,

Night Song takes the bottle and says "This one's for you brother." and takes a large swig of it, "that hit the spot" he gives the bottle back. Feeling slightly tipsy he says, "Blue would want us to celebrate his life." He walks over to the stage and switches on the karaoke machine, chooses the song he knew to be Blue's favorite and says, "This one is dedicated to a dear friend and brother, who has unfortunately departed from our lives. See ya on the other side Blue Blur.." and starts singing into the microphone, and even though he was a little tipsy he still sung like a professional.

Violet comes back from talking to her family and sees Night Song on the stage singing, she smiles, she always loved his singing, but she also knew him long enough to know that the little sway he had was due to alcohol, she sighs..

"Critic, did he have any alcohol? Even though I told him not to?" she thought of saying to Critic, but chose to scold Night Song later on in private. Besides she had an idea of how to teach him a lesson for drinking behind her back.

She turns to Aixi and Critic, "He's got such an angelic singing voice, doesn't he? Oh and my family is alright with it, they're not exactly happy I may not be returning, but they understand this is something I have to do, and I am grown mare."

@@Night Song,

Critic looked to Violet, after looking to Night Song's inebriated courage.

"I have no clue. I turn my head for a minute and the next thing I knew, it was slightly lighter than usual. Besides, it doesn't look like he's hurting anypony."

Critic, Aixi, and Violet looked the stallion on stage. He was swaying heavily, as if gravity itself was his natural enemy. After gaining his balance, he began to sing. Though he was completely smashed, he still sang with the voice of a professional. How he wasn't slurring like a sailor on afriday night was one mystery Critic will never understand. Like how the pink mare back home talks to empty space, or when he was transported into that comic book. The Mare-vengers, thought was the name of the title.

Critic and the two mares watched Night Song's performance. It was soothing with pure emotion, with a hint of sadness. Yet slightly upbeat in a way. Like he was wishing Blue happiness in the next life. It almost brought a tear to Critic's eye at the shear effort and emotion being displayed. It was far more than his sister ever put into her parts in some of her movies, that's for certain. After afew minutes, Night Song concluded his performance. The house was alight with applause, Critic could have sworn he saw one of the tough looking town guards in the back, crying his eye's out. Night song came stumbling back to the booth with the others.

@@Mr. Critical,

"W..well how did I do?" He asks with a slight slur, grabbing Violet by the waist and smooching her lovingly.

She could taste the alcohol on his lips and on his breath, she sighed, but then a devilish thought crosses her mind and a sly smile crosses her face.

Aixi and Critic notice and look at her inquisitively, she winks at them.

"well love, you did something I told you not to do, so....I'm going to have to punish you, but that will come later. I am amazed at how you could sing so professionally, even when drunk."

"I'm not drunk! J..just tipsy, my dear." he sits down with a thump on his chair.

Violet shakes her head, and sits down next to him, then her stomach growls.

Night Song giggles slightly, "someone's stomach sounds like an angry timberwolf. Oh I was going to get as all some nummy food, wasn't i?"

He gets up and counts his bits, "let's see.. yes, this should be enough for now."

He walks over to the counter, orders a few meals, pays for them then brings them over.

He had bought a basket of curly hayfries, some salad and a large platter of fruit..

"Only the best for friends of our dearly departed Blue Blur."

@@Night Song,

Critic accepted the fries. He loved these things. If only he had some cheddar. But, free food is free food, so Critic couldn't complain. He began to eat them at a steady pace, while Night Song and Violet ate them like their lives depended on it. Aixi was in between. She ate fast, yet slow. That didn't seem possible to Critical though, but he just kept eating. He looked to Night Song and Violet every once in a wile to make sure they weren't choking on anything. Every time though, Critic caught Violet giving a certain look to Night Song. Like she knew something he didn't. Then again, Night was so smashed, you could smuggle a parade in front of him and he wouldn't be none the wiser. What a light weight.

We continued to eat. The hayfries were the first to go, we all started for the fruit, with an occasional nibble at the salad. We were really digging into this thing. Violet poured herself some of what was left of the AJ Daniels and slapped Night Songs hoof every time he tried to get some himself. It stifled a chuckle from Aixi and Critic. Celestia only knows what would happen of he had more. Probably get up on stage and start singing show tunes. Within minutes the platter of food was gone, and the group was satisfied with their intake. Nopony wanted to move, just to let their massacre of the food trey to sink in and ease itself.

He smiles again, "Um...did I do something stupid?" He asks

Violet chuckles, and points to the half empty bottle of alcohol, "you tell me love."

He looks at it, "Well.. I wasn't drunk, just tipsy. Besides, it's not like I hurt anyone. And, I'm sober again."

@@Night Song, @@PurplePony,

"The next town will be fine. Get's us out of the train.

Critic gave a nod at her decision. Well, doesn't seem that bad. Gives Critic more time to admire the sights. His thoughts returned to the ponies and the booth of the pub. He was a bit tingly from the alcohol, but it would fade within a few minutes. Today was an odd day. The tardis crash lands in this small town, he met some new ponies, that chase with that hooded figure, the death of a new friend, and here. Drinking and merriment in the name of our departed comrade. Oddly enough, Mr. Critical has had weirder nights. Now, he was sharing it with ponies he'd be proud to call his friend. 'Twas a good night.' Critic thought to himself.

Well, well. Drinking to and with friends. You've come far, Critic.

'indeed I have, lovely. Amazing how life plays out.'

Indeed. So tell me Critic. Are you Seriously, contemplating the proposal of this odd mare. She will pass her peoples ancient knowledge down unto you. But, she will know everything. And I do mean, EVERYTHING.

This ment nothing to Critic his mind was dead set. He knew what he was going to do.

As long as you do them for the right reasons, you may do as you wish.

And with that, the consciousness of the tardis had left him to his thoughts once more. But, not alone this time.

Aixi glanced around the table, she had not said much this evening, more important matters were preoccupying her thoughts. 'Crtic would know everything, he would see the dumb idiot that I am. Not only that but he would see information exchanged between their people, information that dated back to the very beginning. In the wrong hooves all of her information could be used to destroy everything she had worked so hard to keep going. The same argument could be made for the other side though if she passed on being the last of her kind the world would slowly consume itself'

Aixi looked over to Critic and wondered if she made the right choice.

Aixi fumbled around her room, as she began to carefully round up her possessions. She carefully grabbed three old looking paper scrolls and placed them into the bag she had gotten earlier, along with those Aix tossed in a pendant that had been passed down to her family for generations. Aixi sat on her bed admiring her last possession. She held her delicate crown in her hooves, a nostalgic feeling came over her as she remembered her coronation. 'It was one of the proudest moments of my life.' She thought happily.

After a little bit of time she placed her crown in her bag as well.  Aixi was left once again to her thoughts as she curled up in the center of her bed and put her bag at the foot of the bed. She looked up into Luna's night sky. 'Goodnight, morning comes all too soon.' She thought as she lay her head down.

"hey, Aixi. Um... Ive been thinking for a while."

She continued, "No doubt I have frightened you. In all honesty I didn't think I would get an answer this quickly. I am both grateful and humbled by your trust, you obviously have secrets that you don't want out there and I promise you that they won't ever even get the opportunity too." Aixi smiled at this, Critic looked confused again.

"Now is not the time to merge with one another. At least not in that way,"

Aixi chuckled lightly before starting back up again, "I fear that all of my information would cloud your judgment. This would interfere greatly with our mission. For now I only wish to know that you consent to this practice. For now I would like to respect your space and your thoughts."

Aixi got off of her bed and stood in front of Critic. "I will never think of you any differently, you have proven to be a worthy friend."

Night Song couldn't sleep, he constantly tossed and turned in his sleep. He opens his eyes and sees Violet next to him, he smiles and kisses her on the cheek. He was glad that she decided to forgo the 'punishment', it had been a very tiring, sad day, and if the look on her face was any indication as to what the punishment may have been, he wasn't really in the mood for it. He kisses Violet and again and strokes her mane gently, "maybe later my love" he whispers as he gets up from bed, letting her sleep.

He walks over to the vault and opens it, takes out Blue's old armor and sighs, putting it on, he uses a little bit of magic to make it fit properly. He looks himself in the mirror, "well, it fits, and it doesn't look half bad. I still don't feel right wearing this, but I'm honored." Night Song says to himself, taking the armor off and putting it away. He walks back to the bed and snuggles up to Violet.

Feeling him snuggle up to her, Violet wakes up, "mm.. oh hello darling." She says sleepily, "couldn't you sleep love?"

Night Song shakes his head, "N..no, I cannot stop thinking about Blue."

"Please love, you know Blue wouldn't want you losing sleep over him, please honey, try and get some sleep."

Night Song sighs, "Very well dear, you're right.." He snuggles up to her, burying his face in her mane and closes his eyes.

@@PurplePony,

Critic lifts Aixi's head up from her bow. He never really liked ponies bowing to him. Especially royalty. It made him feel... uneasy. But Critic didn't like Aixi bowing before him even more. She was one of his first friends. One He actually wanted to call friend.

"I ask nothing of you. This is my gift to you. Seeing you happy is reward enough."

He gave her a small smile. He wasn't exactly used to giving a smile before today. But he managed to muster one for her. He staired into those eyes of hers for what seemed like an eternity. Only to pull away after feeling a bit awkward. He really liked Aixi, though he couldn't bring himself to admit it. Love was a foreign concept to him, and he knew not of what to make of it.

After pulling away, Critic rubbed the back of his head, trying, and failing, to act casual. After darting his eyes around for a while, He gave her a hug and made his way to the door.

"I uh... I-I got a room a few doors down. Its at the edge of the hall, If you need anything, don't hesitate to knock. My door is always open to you."

Aixi was quite shocked to see the stallion act the way he had. She could not recall the last time some pony just waved a favor off. She smiled, attempting to mask her true emotions. She watched as he left, closing the door behind him.

A small puff of air escaped Aixi' muzzle. Silently she made her way back to her bed once more. Her thoughts were relentless as they tore at her. When sleep finally did claim her she tossed and turned violently in the covers of her bed.

'Hello.' reverberated throughout Aixi's mind as she shot straight up in bed. Sitting Aixi rubbed her face, her body was dripping with sweat and her face was soaked in tears. She couldn't remember what she had been dreaming about but it was clear to her that it was not just about to let her crawl back under the covers and sleep peacefully.

Aixi looked at the dimming night sky and noted that sun up would be in approximately one hour. She sighed, "I suppose I should take a shower, and make sure everything is in order before I meet up with my friends." she announced to no pony in particular.

~

A little time later

Aixi grabbed her only bag and swung it around her neck. She trotted about her room doing a once over to ensure not a thing had been left behind. Once satisfied that she was not forgetting anything Aixi trotted out of her room and headed for the lobby. There was not much time before sun up and Aixi had no intentions of waiting for any pony who had slept in.

Critical made his way to the edge of the hall, the last door at the very end. Slipping the teeth of the tardis key into the lock revealed his home. He didn't open it to wide as to let other ponies see if they would be near. As he shut the door, he made his way to the red couch. he jumped and landed on it with a *thump. He couldn't stop thinking about her. He was nuts about her. And since he was in the confines of the tardis, he could let those emotions show. He was almost alone now. When he opened his eyes he saw the blue mare in the center of the console look to him, a glint of satisfaction in her face. He looked to her in annoyance.

"...What?"

"Oh, don't you what me. I know what you're thinking about."

Critic's face emulated that of a tomato. He thought to himself. 'confound this mental link.'

"How about no. Oh, my little colt is fallen for someone. Brings a tear to my eye."

Critic rolled his eyes and walked his way to the bedroom. He lay on his enormous mattress, just lost in thought.

Next morning.

Critic awoke to the familiar sites. He made his way to his kitchen and looked through his stock of food. Opening his fridge he found his stock. But what caught his eye were some blue alien fruit he was quite fond of. Bobo fruit as they were called. They were cheap, but amazing. Fruit with enzymes that could bond with saliva to mimic the taste of the food you are craving at the moment. But, the numbers were few, so he just grabbed some strawberries and made his way to the main lobby. As he made it to the console he saw the blue mare again, smiling upon eye contact. Critical knew what she wanted the say, yet she remained quiet. Critic left the room and made his way to meet his comrades. In the distance, he could hear the familiar wheezing of the de-materialization process. He made it to the lobby and found Aixi, already waiting.

A minute or two later, Violet arrives downstairs at the lobby, wearing her armor with a small smile, "H..how do I look?" she asks, showing everypony. "I..I hope this ok, i..it cost Night Song a fortune."

Night Song kisses her, "you look wonderful darling, and it's practical too." He smiles then turns to the others, "Well I'm starving, shall we go and have something to eat for breakfast before we start our journey? It isn't good to travel on an empty stomach."

Aixi never liked waiting, it seemed pointless and always proved to be a waste of time. She was very glad to see that it didn't take terribly long. The other mare was decked out in armor, it looked good but the notion of Armour always made her laugh. 'They fight to live,' she thought as her dark humor took over, 'We fight to die. that is how we differ.'

Night song suggested they get breakfast. This irritated Aixi, although she understood that he didn't know the details.... it still irked her slightly. 'We can not spare a moment so frivolously she thought, especially right now.' Aixi thought to herself.

With that thought she began to walk forward waving a hoof. "We can eat and rest more on the train. Now is not the time to go about lollygagging. We have a lengthily journey ahead of us and if we wish to accomplish anything I suggest we move forward."

She was nearly out the door when she realized something. The town was still somewhat unfamiliar to her. "I have no idea where I am going," she thought.

Aixi timidly turned around and glanced around the group "I um.... I don't know where I am going." Aixi trailed of stammering somewhat embarrassed.

'Gosh I am supposed to be the leader!' Aixi thought to herself, 'I will have to learn as well.' She smiled as she waited for some pony to take the lead.

Critic rolled his eyes a bit. He made sure the others weren't looking and placed his hooves on his temples. Focusing his thoughts, casting them out like a net. Until he found who he wanted to talk to.

'Hello Lovely, Could you tell me the directions to the train station?'

She was in his head, he knew that for certain. But she was feeling a bit insulted for such a trivial task. After a few seconds of silence she spoke, no longer in her sultry voice, but in that of annoyance.

Exit the door, make a left and then a second left to the first road you see. Keep walking until you come across a market place. Take a right and keep going until you find what you're looking for.

'Thanks lovely.'

Critic walked up to the others, telling them the directions. Finally, their quest could begin. The team of misfits had arrived to the station, relived they each got their tickets and placed their luggage on board. Finally being able to sit down, Night Song and Violet got up and made their way to the dining car for some late breakfast. Which just left Aixi and Critical to do whatever it is they wish to do.

@Mr. Critical

Aixi Turned to her friend. Why don't we find a car? I would like to relax a bit more."

Critic followed her and after a few minutes of searching they found a private car. Aixi tucked her bag over head and sat down.

The two were alone again. Aix looked at Critic. Something bothered her. She began shuffling around. "Critic," She said looking towards her friend.

"How do you plan on protecting yourself? You don't have a thing. You need to be able to protect yourself at all times." She continued on not sure if she were perhaps insulting him, but she cared about him, and didn't want to see any more blood shed.

Critic smirked, this irritated Aixi slightly. "This is a very serious matter. This is no joke. The less I have to send off the better." She said as she glared at Critic

The smirk annoyed her so greatly. 'He had nothing! how was he supposed to defend himself? He would be of no help to me. Perhaps I chose the wrong pony.' She thought

No sooner had she thought that a wave of guilt filled her and she knew she was wrong.

"I don't know if you need it but I do have a weapon for you Critic. If you would like, it is yours."
