movies/tv Doctor Who? Recommended?

No, I have not watched Doctor Who. Yes, my boyfriend does.

 

I was just asking, is it a good show to recommened? The way the show is, it doesn't seem like my taste in TV shows, but I've known people who I looked at and say "Oh, that person would NEVER watch Doctor Who" for how they are and how their taste in TV shows are.

 

Like, whats so good about the show? Yes, perhaps I should watch it. My boyfriend doesn't care that I don't watch it, so its not like I NEED to watch it because he does. Infact, I know some terms, some things, and some info about the show, but I don't really know the entire plot. My boyfriend does say, I SHOULD try it out, just to see if I like it.

 

I just want to see every other pony's opinions. Is it a good show? Why is it a good show? Why should it be recommened to me?

 

 

It obviously is a good show, hence the merchandise everywhere. Mainly Hot Topic.

 

I suppose I just might have to watch it. Besides, I thought My Little Pony was just some dumb little girl show until I've actually watched it and realized, ITS NOT! Yes, little girls do watch it, as my 10 year old cousin LOVES My little pony, but I SORT OF judge it xD now, Im so addicted to My little pony!!! Ahhhh!

I, personally couldn't really get into it. I just found it boring and uninteresting. But you should check it out for yourself and form your own opinion. It's extremely popular so there must be something I'm missing.

I really like the show (despite the fact that I think one of the first companions is whiny, emotionally weak, and doesn't help the Doctor at all) but I felt it slowly got better. There are tons of little things that I love looking for and there have been some HUGE plot twists that I didn't see coming.

Doctor Who is a wonderful show! While it may seem like it would just be silly and not worth watching, it is actually an incredibly emotional show, with brilliant humor and wonderful writing. Once you've started watching, you won't be able to stop yourself from singing along with the very cool intro!

I definitely recommend it as it is a great show. I only started watching it about a month ago myself on netflix and I am very pleased from what I have watched so far. If you like science fiction sort of stuff like Star Wars or stuff along that nature you may like this. It has a good amount of comedy and adventure within' it and enjoyable characters as well. 

 

I say you should check out at least one episode just to see if you would like it or not? Who know you may or may not but I say definitely worth a shot.

Tell me about it the first time I watched an episode of this show back in 2012 I was literally laughing at myself for watching it and literally said to myself why in the world are you even watching an episode.... low and behold I liked it  :okiedokielokie: ....

I say watch it. I mean, there are some characters that you might want to kill yourself with a shovel, but some you'll love forever, even after they leave for good. Heck, my icon is of one of my favorite alien races and everyone things it's weird, but I love them for who they are and how much of an impact they had on me.

 

My old roommate was not interested in the new series whatsoever, however, we managed to get him to watch some of the classic stuff and he loved it (particularly since it was Tom Baker as the Doctor and he's just lovable). You might just need to find the right Doctor for you (that sounds a bit creepy, but sometimes you need to be introduced at the right time with the right characters).

I've seen a few episodes, and while I'm not a fan, there is an obvious draw. It can be quite funny, but it is extremely British. The humor can be quite dry, and if you aren't from there, a bit strange. It can also be quite scary, which was a bit strange for me as it too is technically a kids show. Give it a try. If you don't care for it, you'll at least get brownie points from the BF for making an attempt.

It's actually not a kid's show in the traditional sense. Rather it's a show to appeal to kids and adults alike. The spinoffs The Sarah Jane Adventures and K9 we intended as kid shows.

Well, believe me, I'll be the first to say that it's a frightening show. Particularly the Weeping Angels are brutal, and discovering of The Beast. Anyway, while I will try to get my kids to watch it one day, I will have reservations, believe me.

 

Even writing for the Weeping Angels for a Doctor Who/MLP fan-fic made me worry if it was too dark. I showed it to my friend who simply said, "At least the Angels didn't snap someone's neck in half."

 

So yeah, I totally see where you are coming from.
