She felt Shamrock's tail wrap around her. It was warm, comforting. She didn't see where they were going, but felt safe in her embrace.

"Y-you must be so happy, being surrounded by ponies that care about you..."

She began to cry soft, gentle tears.

"I've never really had a sense of family. I-i spent my whole life travelling... Th-the only pony I really knew was my dad..."

She sighed, rubbing her forehead into Shamrock's neck.

Moonlight Knight walked into the tavern scanning the room as he entered. He had just gotten off from his shift at the castle and needed a little rest. Moonlight walked over to a table and examined the room carefully. "Its been such a long day." he said to himself as he looked towards the door. "I wonder if any pony will show up" he pondered.

Saying goodbye to his new found friend, Seth closed the door. "So how was catching up with Sole?" the wolf asked, seeing the tiredness in Luna's eyes. 

 

The princess levitated the sheets off the bed and got in. "Well, he's just like his father; always cracking joke." Hearing the mention of the chaotic god made Seth tense up for a second. Noticing this, Luna face turned apologetic. "I am most sorry about bringing it up-"

 

"Don't worry, you didn't mean to." Seth interrupted before yawning "It's getting late and we both need to leave early tomorrow anyway. Why don't we just get a little shut eye."

 

"You are probably right" Luna agreed

 

As Luna pulled up the covers, Seth found a nice piece of floor and curled up for sleep.

 

"You are sleeping on the ground?" the princess called, seeing Seth's actions.

 

"It's a wolf thing. Plus, you have the only bed." Seth answered.

 

"That didn't stop you last time we were here." Luna replied, giving a "get over here" look.

 

Seth only could chuckle as he jumped atop the bed. "Last time you wanted me to stoke your mane until you fell asleep." Seth reminded the princess, earning a soft blush from Luna.

 

"I always was one for tradition." Luna said, patting the spot right next to her.

 

The two slept in harmony, each enjoying the others warmth through the night.

In the morning, Luna flew Seth back to Ponyville since he didn't have any other way back. When they arrived, Seth commented, "I remember being the one to carry you home last time we were at the empire."

 

"What happens at the griffon kingdom stays at the kingdom." Luna reminded him, placing a hoof on his mouth. 

 

"Well, I hope to be in Canterlot within the week. Until then, my princess." Seth said as he bowed before the goddess.

 

"Goodbye, my wolven warrior." Luan called as she flew off towords the equine capital. when she was no longer in sight, Seth walked back to tavern.

Getting behind the bar, Seth got the order and pulled out 4 shot glasses and filling them with Everfree rum.

 

"Let's see if you can take this." Seth said to the newcomer.

Instead of going straight back to the tavern, Sole had decided to fly around equestria's night sky; relaxing himself as his wings caught the warm night air. But when the sun began to rise he decided to go back to the tavern to see if Seth was back yet. And maybe for a drink too, he was feeling a little thirsty.

Moonlight smiled at the barkeep. "What have you got today Seth?" He asked as he made his way to the bar. "Its been a long day. I had to fly to the outer villages making my rounds and taking requests for ensuring their safety." Moonlight sighed "Its hard work protecting Equestria."

"For drinks, I just got an import of Pterolykos rum if you two are interested in some wolven drink. For news, I just got back from the griffon capital from a diplomatic conference. The princess and I took care in dealing with that, so no threat there. All in all, it was a really great night." Seth said, laughing slightly at the irony he added.

Moonlight looked at Terra "I've Heard rumors about it being the Griffons" he stated "But those are only rumors." He shook his head. "That's why I have been flying all around the outer villages ensuring our defenses." Moonlight looked around the tavern. "Princess Celestia has requested that all Royal guards be on high alert in case of anything."

"Sorry i am not good with keeping names. Though i suppose i will have to take care of that. Well... Pterolykos? Wolven drink huh? No offense but i haven't heard of many wolves that speak... then again i have a unicorn friend with zebra-like stripes. It's kind of complicated there's this relation of hers with a third cousin removed zebra but... yea i'll stop talking and get that drink."

Seth looked a little concerned for a second as he took out a bottle of rum and pored the two glasses.

 

"Look, you two deal with security in Equestria, so I can trust you." Seth got closer, lowering his voice. "I wasn't told why the conference was called, I just knew i was needed. When I got there, I was told that there have been some griffon terrorists in the kingdom. They were in the borders, so that's probably where you got the rumors. I was needed because the griffons have requested some of our wolven troops and gear could be sent to deal with them. Now the only reason I'm telling you this is because I want you two to be ready for whatever this may be. I'm not sure what's going to play out, but it might lead to Equestria. II just can't be sure."

 Shamrock nuzzles the top of her head. "I know how you feel. When I was a filly I was a orphan till I was six. I had no one and I was treated like vermin.Then my da found me in a box behind his boxing gym. He was the first pony to ever show me kindness. And it is nice to have ponies that care about me. And you'll have the same thing one day. You already got your da." She stop and lifts her chin up with a hoof to look in her eyes caringly. "And now you have me." She says with a loving smile.

Moonlight smiled at Seth and nodded his head. "But i can't have too much though." He stretched his neck and rubbed his sore wings. I still need to head back to the Castle to report in." Being a head knight meant never sleeping and always patrolling. "I can never take a break" he said with a chuckle.

Moonlight shook his head. "I knew that there was more than what i was meant to hear." He looked at Terra and then back to Seth. "I am going to have to speed up the training for the new recruits, and double the guards at the outer villages." Moonlight looked at Terra and nodded. "Are you up for the task?" he asked him with a grin.

"Y-you were an orphan? That sounds terrible..."

She held a look of concern on her face. She nuzzled her in the cheek, closing her eyes.

"W-when I was a filly, my parents were very poor... w-w-we lived in Canterlot, in a very small home. M-my mother left him, and he lost the house... I discovered I was excellent at chess, and started to enter tournaments for money. We could barely afford food... but at night, when we had to sleep outside, he-he held me so tightly... I felt safe. That no matter what, I would be protected."

She shivered a little, and cried, grabbing Shamrock in a comforting embrace.

"I-i still remember those nights... They were so cold... but at least I have you now."

" Thanks." Brechard picks up the first shot and drinks it. He shivers as the rum lands in his empty stomach. He continues to drink the second and third shots but stops for a few seconds before drinking the fourth. Already feeling slightly tipsy he orders two pints and passes Seth some bits.(Im guessing the rum is pretty strong so ill do something about being drunk later.)

".. damn it... out is raining like hell.. stupid Pegasus... they could have informed me... io had to raise all the bulkheads!!! bah... Stupid Claudsdale and buck them and all of their burocracy.. just because i am banned from living there they could just have told me about the storm.. bah.. Seth... please.. i need something hot.. my tail is a brwon and yellow piece of ice.." he said getting closer to the counter

StarShine felt sorry for the stallion. She walked up to him and said "Sorry.. I'm having a really bad day.. I just snapped at you.. And here.." She gave him her coat that was warm and fluffy. She pulled up a seat and sat beside him. She put down her book and removed her glasses. The cute mare blinked shyly and said "I'm StarShine... And you are?"

"uh it looks like some kind of strange note.. may i politely ask what is that and what does it means?"

Hearing the request, Seth walked into the back room and brought out what could be described as a bunsen burner on steroids. Plugging in the hose to a socket under the bar, the wolf pulled out a lighter and lit the heating implement.

 

"I use this to cook meat the old fashion way when there's no one in the bar. It's slow, but it just gets the job done right." Seth turned to the mare. "Need anything else while I'm here, miss"

The beautiful mare said "Yes! A non alcoholic cider! Please! And may I say! That coat looks just the right shade! Wait.. I AM GETTING AN IDEA!" She whipped out her book and started to draw an item. When she was finished it was a cute little leather collar for wolves. She smiled as closed it. She started writing down words to a song.

She smiled and closed her book. She looked around and everyone was staring at her cause she just starting making up words and singing them.

*She whinnied out of her trance realizing her leg was in pain. She arched up nearly falling on her back but managed to pull forward, landing on all 4 hooves before turning around to see Skylar curled up next to her...a smirk or gentle looking smile on his face, she could just barely tell seeing how dark it was...but she noticed his leg was bleeding...feeling the same pain she had in her own*

 

What happened...? *she asked firmly, then saw evidences, pieces of a timber wolf and a quick scruffle...* Oh no.... *she backed away, limping slightly on the pain of her back leg. Even though she had no evidence of a bite mark or injury, Skylar pain was very much her pain and vice versa...their life force connection still there and strong...their fears wrapped around each other in their emotional/life link.*

 

Gah...*limps to him and helps him up* Come on Skylar...no more surprises...We best keep moving to avoid anymore unwanted attention...you silly brave stallion. I know where the Diamond Dog pack is...they aren't far from here, a few minutes walk...*She noticed the expression on his face, it was of fear and concern as well as a hint of him thinking "Maybe we should go back..." but she shook her head and tried to ignore his worries, knowing her duty to others called first.* Come on lil'bro...we're almost there, *she put herself underneath him, supporting the weight of his injured leg while he walked on his three good hooves as they moved onward...*

 

*Soon after the trees were giving way to more rock, dirt and vines...there was a stentch of mildue and wet dirt, follow by the smell of...wet dog. The smell filled their noses, stinging their senses the closer they came to the dogs territory. Finally they made it to an open bald spot of the forest, it was surrounded by cracked rocks and dead trees. The ground was riddled with large piles of dirt and holes, a clear sign it was a location of a Diamond Pack. She put Skylar down, allowing him to stand on his own and approached the nearest hole she came to*

 

Hello? *she flicked her large ear out of her hood to listen...all she heard was an echo...* Hello? Is any dog there? I come in peace... I'm... *she hesitated to say her name, fearing of what kind of audience she would get from it* I'm here to help...*she continued* I know of the troubles of the Diamond Dog Packs...Concerns have brought me to assist you... I am...*she gulped firmly then stood up straight as she called out* I'm Princess Lightning Bliss, Alicorn of Unity, negotiator and peace maker for all beings who need my assistance. I come in peace and to service you in your time of need! *Her horn seemed to respond to her confidence, it glowed lightly under her hood...before the ground began to growl underneath their hooves*

*A growl echoed in a hole not far from behind Skylar...then as quickly as it came...a pony sized, large gray diamond dog with white spots, wearing a white vest, burst forth from the whole...grabbed Skylar by the neck and held his other paw, armed with razor sharp claws, to his neck*

 

Ous tresspass on mi pack's grounds....ous stupid ponies... *he snarled and firmly held Skylar tightly to his chest* We no wants ous kind here...be gone....

 

*She turned clamly to face the pack leader Shard, knowing exactly who he was thanks to her senses. The leader was giving off feelings of fear, anger and frustration...fear for his pack of what she and Skylar were bringing to him...to him...he was putting his life on the line for the sake of his pack*

 

Oh noble...brave Shard... *she pushed her hood back and opened her wings, revealing her true alicorn form* I come to you in peace, I bare you no harm or force...

 

Why has ous come then? *he snarled* Ous ponies no care about packs! Ous see us as ruffians! Bandits! Wes try to survive in forest...wes look for gems for food, and moneys to survive outsides forest...Dragons steal from us packs! We fights them...wes try to make them find new nests...theys breath fires on us...

 

Please...calm yourself *she took a step towards him calmly*

 

STAYS BACK!!! *He howled pulling Skylar up to him, the stallion too weak and frighten to do more then stay calm, feeling Blissy was trying to stay just as calm* WES NO WANT PONIES HERE, PONIES NO CARE ABOUT PACKS!!! *Then by hidden command, more male dogs burst forth from their holes, surrounding her and Skylar at once. Shard released Skylar forcing him over to Blissy's side as the dogs, holding out their claws viciously and their teeth exposed, circled around them* OUS NOT LEAVE? OUS BE PUNISHED FOR NOT LEAVING PACK GROUNDS!!!

*Suddenly a large black shadow descended on top of the pack and Blissy and Skylar...the smell of dragon reeked in the air...* YOU DOGS THREATEN THE PRINCESS OF PEACE WHEN SHE HAS NOT LIFTED HARM TO YOU??? FOOLISH DOGS!!!

 

*She immiedatly recongized the thundering, heroic roars of her husband* Night Lights!

 

*Roars as he lands on the grounds, making the dogs whimper and cower in fear, unable to retreat into their wholes since the large wyvern blocked them with his massive body* LIGHTNING BLISS HAS COME TO SERVICE YOU!!! NO HARM WILL COME TO THE DIAMOND PACKS...BUT SHOULD YOU WISH FOR VIOLENCE... YOU SHALL HAVE IT WITH ME, NOT WITH HER!!!

 

OUS BRING DRAGON TO KILL US!!! *Shard howled in terror* WES DIE...WES DIE FIGHTING!!!

 

NO!!!!!! *she leapt in front of Nights defense just before the male dogs started to charge at him, throwing their lives away in belief this was their last battle for life. Her eyes suddenly burst with a white light of power out of her control, her horn bursted with ribboned or rainbow powers as they swarmed around all the dogs, herself and Night Lights...As if by her instinct to keep the peace...the magic gave off an aura of sereinity and peace...wrapping all beings in a comforting blanket...As the blanket comforted all the dogs in the are as well as herself and Nights...she began to speak to Shard on a level bound plain of magic*

 

Shard...oh brave...noble shard... your feelings for your pack's safety is strong...you were willing to die to protect them from dragons if you had to...Knowing this Shard...you know a war is not what you want...you wish for your pack to be safe...and to have equal access to the precious treasures you so badly need...Oh brave...noble...reasoning Shard... I believe in my heart you don't wish to harm others or risk your family...If you will allow me... I can help you and the dragons of the forest...to come to an agreement...one of equal value...and profit, so that both sides may live in harmony...and may even prosper together... *The leader dog listened closely to her gentle innocent words...tears flowed through his eyes as he felt and believed in her...agreeing almost instantly of not wanting to fight nor die...or let others die in his pack anymore.* Withs fear...buts strong beliefs in ous...Alicorn of Unity...wes accept your help...please helps us?

 

*Her power suddenly diminished and she along with the dogs floated down to the ground* Well....that wasn't...so...ha-*she fell to the ground, her strength drained, as Nights catched her on the end of his beak*

 

She ok? *he asked the great dragon body guard of Blissy*

 

She'll be fine...*he smiled* My name is Night Lights by the way, guardian to Lightning Bliss and her husband, it's a pleaser to meet the leader of the Diamond Dogs of the Evergreen forest.

 

Pleasure es mine *he placed his paw next to the dragons beak smiling in unity, calm finally restroed for now*

 

*He smiled and turned to Skylar, tucked firmly next to his back leg* @Skylar? My goodness it's been a long time!

(Sorry guys, I don't have the time or patience to read all of that and catch up. I'll say sole just arrived.)

 

Sole walked through the door and noticed how there were significantly more ponies here then last time he was here. He only caught something about the griffons and a possible attack, before sighing. He couldn't deny his kind was pretty wild and warlike, but it seemed as if equestria just loved to blame the griffons every time they get attacked. He quietly sat down in his same seat in the corner and pulled his hat over his eyes.

Seth was a little unsure how to process this. Was she trying to hit on him, or was this a norm for ponies. After mulling over the thoughts, Seth noticed a familiar griffon friend walk in. opening a cabinet in the bar, the wolf pulled out a bottle labeled in wolven. He picked up two glasses and walked over to his new friend. Placing the glass on the table, Seth pored both a drink.

"A symbolic token of my gratitude for what you gave me last night." Seth said, remembering the events after Sole left. "I owe you a life debt for what you gave me. By the code of the wolves, I would be honored to give my life for you."
