Seriously though I'm sure this traveler is a plot device, designed to get Rarity worked up into her usual dramatic frenzy, only to ultimately come to a more grounded conclusion about... I dunno, being true to yourself or something.  I'm personally looking forward to this episode because we get to see a Rarity at odds with Applejack episode.  Those are always good for continuous laughter.

I'll agree to wait and see, and hey, it could make for a very funny episode.  On the other hand, I hope that the writers do not return to this well down the road (i.e. having two other Mane Six characters fight over somepony).  I'm also hoping that this is a one-off episode, because any long-term romance would undoubtedly affect that pony's relationship with the rest of Mane Six (e.g., having to divide her time between him and them, on top of her job) in a negative way (most likely).

It's fine with me, ever human feels attraction, so if it's written well, than all it can do is strengthen the emotional connections and relatability we see in these characters.

Rarity already had a crush on Prince Blueblood back in season 1 and we saw how that turned out. Just because Rarity has another crush dosen't mean she will end up with him and just because her crush likes Applejack (he has good taste in mares) dosen't mean he will get with her. The episode is probably going to be hilarious, and is probably going to inspire some very interesting fanfics.

In my opinion, it would be very foolish of the MLP crew if they introduced a permanent love interest for any of the Mane Six. The producers are obviously aware of the size passion of the fandom--if they're smart, they will leave the ponies unattached so each fan can decide who they want the characters to hook up with.

As usual, the fandom is freaking out over nothing. This isn't the first time Rarity has been in love. Remember Prince Blueblood? That stallion from season 1? The season Faust was in charge of? It's well within Rarity's character to fall in love. We've seen her react to other stallions throughout the series - hugging Thunderlane when he saved her, almost fainting when Flim and Flam spoke to her, etc. And many stallions have had their eye on her - the minor background ponies who were willing to pull her carriage to the Grand Galloping Gala, the nerdy Pony from Putting Your Hoof Down, and even Donut Joe. And of course, we cannot forget about Spike. Romance has always been a common theme in Rarity's stories and is something that's more closely associated with her character than any of the others, as we know that one of Rarity's dreams is to meet that perfect stallion. Besides, it's incredibly unlikely this stallion will be anything more than a one-shot character. It should be fairly obvious that neither Rarity nor Applejack are gonna hook up with Trenderhoof. THAT would be a complete game changer and would be going against Faust's vision.

 

On the other hand, I WILL be doing all kinds of raging if Applejack falls in love with this Trenderhoof guy and starts competing with Rarity for his attention. Then and only then would I find any reason to cry foul as that would be ridiculously OOC on AJ's end. I'm predicting Applejack to be oblivious to Trenderhoof's crush and I will be disappoint with almost any other outcome. Even though it will be adorable seeing a male pony in love with Applejack <3.

I think this episode will be straight up amazing! The only reason I think some Bronies were upset with Flash Sentry is because they thought maybe it would be a permanent thing. I'm a little surprised that the same didn't happen with Cadance but I think it was because she was introduced as already being in a relationship. 

 

Half of the fandom dreams of the mane 6 being involved with a love interest until it actually happens, then they hate it. I kind of feel like it's just the Cloppers though haha.
