"Dan, I looked at the tape and there was no way that could have been tampered with. Unless they managed to put the camera on a continuous loop, then they couldn't have done it." She listened to what Binaryhad proposed. "Did you say a hitpony? They could have done that." Golden reasoned.

Light looked at Thy again. He decided to lay her on a table in the museum, which he then did. At least she would be comfy when she awoke.

Dan nodded after hearing the hit pony theory. "We have no evidence that they didn't have a hit pony, which is why everypony in this room is a suspect." Said Dan.

"Everypony here is a suspect. Right. Well, we can't question two of them ecause they're out cold. The ponies I'm talking about are Doctor Volt and Thylacine. But we can question the others." Golden jotted down a few notes and thought about who she could question.

BinaryPony's eyes widened. "Okay, so I just walked into a murder-mystery cliche?" Binary asks in a confused tone, and then angrily he adds "Ugh, you know what? Buck this! Just tell me what you want sent back to the lab and I'll have guys look at it. I mean soon we're all going to say 'the butler did it!'"

"My primary suspects are in fact the two that currently are knocked out. Think about it. Both had the opportunity to kill him, and they had the ability to move the remains of the Doctor. I did some searching, and the Doctor was apparently murdered at his abode. The body had to have been moved by a means of transportation, which would knock out many of the earth ponies, however, there is one earth pony in particular that could move the body." Said Dan.

Light, meanwhile, heard Binary's comment. "Murders are all different, Binary. This one, in particular is weird." Said Light. "However, I think I have something you can analyze." He said. Light turned to Paladin. "Paladin, with your permission, I'd like to use the Eye Of Uadjit, so it may be searched." Said Light.

Golden's jaw practically hit the floor. "Are you kidding me!? Your primary suspects are the two knocked out cold!? Oh nononono. How ... huh ....?" Golden went into complete panic mode and started to hyperventilate again.

 

Starcover merely glanced around at all that had transpired. He doesn't care anymore. He just wants to go home.

Dan cuts in. "Think about it, miss Flame, Thylacine is the owner of a large flying vessel, and probably carries much cargo that could be large enough to store a body. Doctor Volt is strong, and could easily carry the Doctor's body with relative ease." Said Dan. "Although, everypony present here had a motive and opportunity to kill our victim." Said Dan. "I can tell you, if you'd like." He said.

Goldem seemed to have visibly calmed down but in the back of her mind, she was still slightly panicking. "Yes. Please tell me what you think happened." Golden took in a shuddering breath and jotted down a couple of new things about Doc. Volt and Thylacine.

"Well, currently, we have 5 suspects: Masquerade, Starcover, Lee, Doctor Volt, and Thylacine." Said Dan. "Now their motives are as follows: Masquerade admired the Egyptians, and the gem, and may have been willing to kill to make the curse come to life. Starcover may have seen the same opportunity as Masquerade. Lee is special, for say, and may use this to get back at the Doctor for discriminatory reasons. Doctor Volt and. Thylacine adore the jewel, and both want it for themselves." Said Dan. "They all had the opportunity to kill Doctor Vanderveer." Said Dan.

"Do they have criminal records? Otherwise, I think I'll need to take a sample for DNA, hoof prints, and magic signatures." Binary chimes in. "Once I've got all of this information sorted out, I can take what I need back to the lab and see what I can found out about this."

Dan nodded. "Take what samples you need. Only two ponies here have a criminal record." Began Dan. "Thylacine is an outlaw in many galaxies." Said Dan. "And then there is Doctor Volt, who, in Light's last case, murdered a pony by the name of Professor Dirk Carlton." Said Dan.

Lee looked around at the mention of getting dna and magic samples taken. Thinking, hard, he decided if he was going down, it would be in his own way. If it came to having to give samples, he was going to have a little fun with it.

 

PALADIN 

Paladin went back to the roof to nap. With lunar guards now stationed around the building and at every entrance and exit, he felt that the area was secure and he could rest.

Starcover's ears perked up at the mention of DNA samples. 'Why would they want to take my DNA sample? I haven't done anything wrong. At least, I hope not.' Starcover thought to himself.

 

Meanwhile. Golden jotted the new information as she heard it. "Some samples would be good. it's gotten way out of hoof with the jewel and we need to get back to the original case."

Icy had been in the corner, watching and listening. Like usual. She already had a pretty good idea about which pony was the murderer. The only thing preventing her from voicing her thoughts was BinaryPony, who was going to take DNA samples and do other nerdy things relating to the case. Icy was itching to know Lee's secret.

Dan nodded at Paladin as Paladin went to rest. Dan next turned to Golden and Starcover. He spoke to Starcover first. "We need DNA samples for a test, to see if any of your DNA patterns match that of DNA patterns found around and with the body and the jewel." Said Dan. He spoke next to Golden. "This should assist us in solving this main case, as well." He said. He turned to face Icy. "Icy, would you please step forward so we may begin?" He asked. He spoke finally to Binary. "Begin with drawing samples." He said.

Binary approaches Masquerade, Starcover, and Lee each with a cotton swab. For each swab, he slides it on the inside of each pony's cheek. Using the database will allow him to identify the DNA patterns for Thylacine and Volt. "I'll have your results ready in a few days. Plus, all I can find is who touched what and where, not if the person is the perpetrator, so I need to find additional evidence to make a case." With the swabs bagged and tagged, Binary left for the forensics lab.

Dan nodded. "All right." He said. "I'll check for prints on the body." He said. Dan turned to the body and knelt at it. He examined it closely. The cause of death was penetration with a sharp object. "Hmm..." Said Dan. "It would appear as if the cause of death was stabbing." He said.

Golden overheard what Dan had said. "Cause of death is stabbing? Like with that blunt pencil. What's the object that caused the death this time?" Golden trotted up to Dan to see if she can inspect the object better.

 

Starcover let Binary take a DNA Sample and whatever else the pony had to do for these stupid tests.

Thy was asleep still. She would have killed that pony who took her DNA. She was not in the data base anyway because she was alien. And if they found out that , she would proble be disected for study. She could hear everything they said but she couldent wake up. She was confused.

Meanwhile Light was looking over at Thy as she slept. He looked concerned. Almost as if he knew something that the others didn't. And he did.

Paladin nods at Light. "Of course. I'll have on of the guards bring it. Or rather, would you like to accompany one of the guards and myself to a more secure location where you can look it over without any of the suspects around?"

"Let me see that." Golden looked at the body closer but then remembered that spell she used in the last case. The X-Ray spell. grunting with exertion, she managed to light her horn up and moved it up and down the body. "Do you see anything out of the ordinary?"

Paladin flew over to one of the guards and lands next to him. Whispering in his ear, the guard nods and takes off, out the door. He walks over to light and says to him. "Alright. Whenever you're ready to go. The guard will retrieve the amulet and meet us at an unspecified location. I'm sorry I can't be more specific, but I'm not taking any more chances with this."

Dan moves up and down the body, looking it over. "The wound appears to have penetrated the heart, and seems to either be a blade or horn like in shape." Says Dan.

 

Light nods. "I understand. I'm ready when you are, Paladin." He says to Paladin, all ready to go wherever.
