"Wait..who's Summer and where is he?" Thunder asked. Chirp reached down to the floor. Thunder put her down on the floor. Chirp slowly walked over to Oceans Uncle. "If we could find Summer, then he may be a valuable pony during this time. We can't afford to make any mistakes here." Thunder stated.

Tears welled up in Ocean's eyes, "T..Thunder, love... Summer... he is...was" she swallows hard, and tries to blink back the tears, "Thunder, Summer was my father." She walks over to the window and looks out of it, she looks back and saw the forlorn look on Thunder's face, she sighs and gets up to walk to him, hugging him and kissing him on the muzzle she says, "Please love, don't look sad, you didn't know. It's ok, nopony blames you for not knowing that he was my father"

 

Ocean's uncle stops pacing and looks down to Chirp, he lets a small smile  cross his face and bends down to gently pet her on the head, "you look after your daddy, now won't you little one?"

A small tear fell out of Thunder's eye. "If I'd known." He thought to himself. Chirp squeaked happily when Ocean's uncle patted her on the head. Thunder walked close to Ocean, also hugging and kissing her to comfort her, during this time of mourning and grieving.

Ocean gently wipes the tear way from Thunder's eye and kisses him, hugging him tight, then smiles when she hears Chirp's happy squeaks, "Aaw, that is adorable, my family absolutely adores her, and by the looks of it, she loves them a lot too." She kisses Thunder again, "I am sure that if we end up having to fight, my mother and aunt would be more than willing to look after her while we do so"

"I hope we don't have to fight another quarter. The only thing we'll have to fight is the evil foe responsible for this." Thunder stated returning Ocean's hug. Chirp reached up to Ocean's uncle, because she wanted him to pick her up and hold her. She let out a little mew.

"I hope so too, but none the less, just look at how happy Chirp is" Ocean says giving Thunder Dash a long kiss.

 

Ocean's uncle smiles and picks Chirp up, cradling her in his arms and singing a lullaby to her soothingly, he smiles down at her and gently strokes her.

Chirp stirred a little in the arms of Ocean's uncle, before letting out a soft mew, and drifting off to sleep. "Chirp has been that happy ever since I met her. Found her while walking from the sisters' old castle in the Everfree Forest. Heard a noise form a bush and decided to go check it out. That's when I found her." Thunder stated nuzzling Ocean.

"and you took her in out of the kindness of your heart too" Ocean says nuzzling him back, "And just look at how happy she's made my family, she's like the light that brightens up their lives. It is good to see them, especially my uncle this happy too."

 

Ocean's uncle continues to gently stroke Chirp and kisses her on the head, "thank you little one" he says sweetly

Chirp stirred a little bit, but fell back to sleep. "She can stay here with you guys while I manage Canterlot and all. I'll come and visit sometime after this." Thunder stated. "So, before we get too off track, how do you want to do the burial. I can have some guards do a tribute in the burial. But it will have to be quick unfortunately." Thunder stated.

Ocean's uncle gently held Chirp close to him and tears swelled up in his eyes, "T..thank you, we will take excellent care of her, I promise, and Shade will be ecstatic, it means a lot to us that you would trust us with your little angel here" He stops for a second, "that would be wonderful, it was how Summer wanted to be buried anyhow."

"Okay then. I will rally up some guards and have the proper tribute ready in a few hours." Thunder Dash stated. "Come on Ocean, let's go and find some available guards." Thunder stated as he was about to head out the door. "Bye Chirp!" Thunder stated. Chirp suddenly woke and started to mew.

Ocean's uncle smiles, "Don't worry sweety,, your daddy will be back, how about I go find Shade and you can play with him, would you like that sweetheart?" 

 

Ocean smiles and gives Chirp a little kiss on the head then goes to Thunder Dash, "Yes, let's do that, the sooner we get the burial done, the sooner my family can feel better" She kisses him on the muzzle and waits for him to leave first

Thunder nuzzled Ocean back and headed out the door. Suddenly, an undercover guard approached Thunder. "Thunder, there's a serious issue going on in Luna's Quarter! The foe...it is there. If it contacts her heart..." The undercover guard took off his cloak. "Then we may be facing a problem bigger than before." The guard stated. "Oh no...Nightmare Moon..." Thunder stated.

Ocean nuzzles Thunder, "We need to go there now, my father's burial can wait" she says, trying to calm Thunder down and soothe him "Let's go, Equestria needs us more than my father needs to be buried, we cannot let this force take hold of Princess Luna" Ocean says a little shakily

"Unfortuantely, we cannot head into Luna's Quarter, we must stay here and protect Canterlot. It may look as if the Royal Guard Force cannot stand, but there are plenty of guards around. If Twilight could get all of her friends in her Quarter to wield the power of the Elements of Harmony, then we might be able to stand a chance. But first, we must break this curse the foe has on the Princessess. The only problem is, I don't know how, with Twilight herself being under that curse." Thunder stated.

Ocean facehoofs, "Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that, sorry love. I guess I kind of get a head of myself sometimes. But what can we do then? There must be something we can do! I don't like not being able to do something, even if it is something about staying here"

"Well, guards are stationed on each side of Canterlot; so that's taken care of. Undercover guards have gone into the other quarters to perform further investigations." Thunder added.

Comet awoke suddenly and confused as to where he was. He then remembered that he had stayed at Nuclear's place over night. He looked around and observed his surroundings, as the previous night was rather dark. He got up and, with what he could find in the kitchen area, began to cook. He mumbled stuff about how bad the situation with the kingdom was, and how screwed they would be should war start.

The green stallion walked through the Crystal Empire's train station, his mismatched eyes greedily looking over the beautiful crystalline architecture. "Mmm...I should come here more often..." He smiled to himself, finally stepping into one of the streets.

The gray mare groaned, turning over in her bed as she smelled food being made. "....IB...?" she mumbled tiredly, getting out of her bed. She heard her friends still asleep which ruled them out. Nuclear entered the kitchen and was mildly surprised to see Comet cooking. "Oh, you didn't have to do that. You could've woken me up to do it."

Comet turned to face the half asleep mare and raised an eyebrow. "By the way you stumbled in here I don't think I want to risk it..." Comet said jokingly. "Oh, and what would you like? What I'm making here might not appeal to your tastes... W-was you serious about last night? About joining the guard with me?" Comet asked curiously. Comet added numerous poisons to the mix that he was concocting.

Fear. Fear is power. At least that is what Aaron had always been taught. The corps. taught him much and was now on his way as a new member of the Sinestro corps. to an uncharted sector of space. He knew he was just sent out of the way so the real members could spread terror through the cosmos, but Aaron knew why he was sent here. To be placed out of the way. Why you ask? Because while the others are serial killers, tyrants, and those who spread terror, Aaron was not. He was just intimidating. Flying through the vacuum, he hoped that he would find something interesting. And little did he know, he would.

Shadow had been perfectly fine throughout this whole ordeal, as a matter of fact, for him this whole split was opportunity. When the split finally came to be the Royal Guards were not at their best, it was the perfect time to "borrow," some of the more forbidden tomes from the castle.

 

The black stallion scanned the pages of one of Starswirl's many volumes that he "retrieved," from one of the more restricted sections when the split began. As a matter of fact, he had taken enough to create stacks of them upon his desk. "Well, if I knew how much information the Princesses had under lock down, I might have broken into the library sooner."

 

He looked to his side, feeling that urge once again, an urge that he perceived as a useless distraction when in the face of his learning. Walking towards the back of his room he found that all the food was gone. Now he would have to go outside and find some more, a thought which he did not enjoy... Shadow hated dealing with other ponies.

A guard noticed Shadow and stopped him. "Halt! Who are you?" He asked not letting Shadow get around him.

 

Meanwhile, Thunder was still with Ocean.

 

An undercover guard had snuck in to Celestia's Quarter and was gathering data to bring back to Thunder. 

 

The foe had planted itself in Luna, and was slowly nagging at her semi-pure heart.

Ocean nods, "A..alright, Do you think we could find the guards who would be willing to help with my father's send off and burial?" Ocean asks Thunder Dash, nuzzling into his mane and smelling the earthiness of it, "Oh and would you like to get little Chirp some things for her stay at my family's mansion? Some toys, foal food, milk, anything.. I can pay, I'd be more than willing to pay for things for your little sweetheart."

"Yes, there are plenty of guards around here, which is good, because we could send your father off with the proper burial." Thunder stated. He then called for some guards. Three of them appeared in front of him, one of which was a unicorn guard. "Yes sir?" They asked. "Quick, I want you to prepare the best burial place, Ocean's father passed away and we need a proper funeral." Thunder stated. "Will do sir." They stated as they went off to find more guards to help.
