movies/tv Animal Animes?

I want to watch some animes that focus on animal characters (for inspiration).

I've seen a couple (both the 60's and 80's versions of Kimba, as well as a cute dog series called Tetsunoshin, and the original Japanese version of Sonic X), but I want to expand.

Any genre is fine--as long as it isn't explicit.

Suggestions?

Well, I watch Sonic X, which is mostly about these talking animals who enter a new world where their fight and livrs continue.

To clarify for everyone: I'd prefer four-legged characters. You see, I'm trying to "study" for my animal characters...

I don't know many. Does Pokemon count. There was also this one that used to air on Toonami about hamsters called Hamtaro. That's all I can think of.

To be fair though, this the only 'animal' anime I've watched so far.
