Vex's Wallpapers

Here's a wallpaper I made with Twilight. Wallpapers are typically an area that I'm weak in but I thought this one came out alright.

 

I'm a bit of a minimalist designer as you can see. Let me know what you think.

I prefer moving backgrounds but, this one has alot of empty space. Don't get me wrong, I love empty space in a wallpaper, especially one as good as this.

Yeah, I've made wallpapers in the past that had lots of empty space and a couple people didn't like it. To each their own. I prefer a nice clean minimalistic wallpaper. I never know what to do with the empty space anyways. :S

It should just be nice to look at and functional, minimalistic wallpapers are very nice. Although, as I said, I like mine to move .

I personally like all the empty space, makes it look nice and simple, it also leaves space for desktop icons...if you use then (I've turned mine off...so that's kinda irrelevant for me....) You don't want something big and distracting in the background to distract your from the real twilight sparkle that is the main theme.

The empty space could have been filled with a very slight gradient - weak enough to not be explicitly noticeable, but strong enough to make the empty space feel a little... less empty.

 

I really like this wallpaper, but I can only use it on one of my laptops due to the screen resolution. Vex3d, for the future, might I suggest working at a minimum of 1920x1200, for those of us who have high-res monitors?

There is a gradient behind the design, although it does look a bit small and dark.

 

You guys and your high-res monitors. I will definitely make them higher quality next time. I made this one to use on my desktop and figured I'd share it. I want a bigger monitor...

It's a bit different than the original. I centered everything and used some slightly different brushes. I also hope the gradient is a bit more apparent.

I do admire your brushes, I must ask you for them later. But Fluttershy's seems to be a branch off of Twilight's. All the mane6 have different colors but you used Twilight's in Fluttershy's when you could've just stuck to just one color.

 

I've also taken notes upon this style aswell, Excellent work.

That's sweet, and yes, empty space in something like this, that focuses on the color coming out and bursting from the black BG, and to show off that shadow effect under her hooves, then it's a good thing imo.

I love the assembling in the first one you posted.

 

Pic isn't too big and it's not in center, just how I like it.

I really appreciate the kind words. I never thought I would ever get to this point. I had pretty much given up on making wallpapers before this fandom and I think I realized what the problem was.

 

Before, I never had a focus point so I was pretty much grasping at straws. Ponies give me an excellent focus point and allow me to produce things I never dreamed of before. ^^
