did the writing staff poke us again?

okay a fair amount of us have grumbles about twilight sparkle not being called princess.

 

all of a sudden an unrully mob of little kids are mobbing twilight calling her princess.

 

It's all good and all.

But i think we just got zinged.

 

Was diamond tiara and silver spoons a stand in for the analysis community guiding us to focus on twilight the princess?

Not really. We know that the writers are trying to focus on Twilight being a princess, and seeing some ponies actually notice that she is a princess is something that made me smile.

Twilight is acknowledged as a princess, but enough time hasn't passed for everyone to think of her to be as great as celestia.

 

But little fillies tend to like her a lot thanks to the sudden popularity of what they think is cool, but I'm sure we'll get more of twilight soon.

I do think the writers were making a point and the point was showing how low key she is about her fame. You'll notice she didn't try to down play what she is, but she also didn't make a big deal about it. She doesn't look for acknowledgement, but doesn't seem to care when it happens either. She embraces it and I think she would with adults too.

do you feel this episode was a missed chance for twilight to get her key?

 

I guess that means we at least have a twilight episode down the road coming.

I've been thinking about that and perhaps yes it was a mistake. I can only think they have another episode in mind. It was really a CMC episode, so I can't say it's totally wrong. At same time I've often wondered if she already has her key and has had it since ep 2.

This would have been a weird episode to  get her key since she wasn't really the focus of the episode and she didn't have any great challenge to overcome.
