StarSwirlTheBearded 356 March 30, 2014 Share March 30, 2014 At the rate things are going, I'm gonna leak it one of these days. I don't know what I'll do then. But for now, it is well under control. facemelt91 62 March 30, 2014 Share March 30, 2014 I don't get why you'd hide it (well I DO get it, obviously) but I wouldn't worry about it. I always loved Pokemon all the way through school and people used to tease me for that sometimes when I was like... 17/18 and still playing it. Granted MLP is slightly different in the way that it has a lot of negative stigma attached to it (0mfg MLP is 4 gurls u fag) but I wouldn't worry too much about keeping it a secret or being found out. You guys make it sound like being a male MLP fan is like being a Commie in the 1950's. It's not thoughtcrime

just ignore me 86 April 1, 2014 Share April 1, 2014 One time I was scrolling through my pony music folder when a friend came up behind me. I threw the ipod like any sane person would than I had to run after it pick it up and lock it. When my friend asked why I did that I said he starteled me... flawless.

GXPBlast 597 April 1, 2014 Author Share April 1, 2014 (edited) I guess if the rubber hit the road, I might go to great lengths to hide it but for the moment, I don't need to put much effort into it. For starters, there are no such conventions here. Ever. No local brony community. What's more, I've no innate desire to get the toys (though I sometimes think about the comics) because heck, being an avid Metroid fan, the only merchandise I have of that franchise are just the games. Currently I have an SD card hidden in an unused school pouch in a drawer where pretty useless stuff gets stored. Inside that SD card are brony music and other brony-related stuff that I don't want on my computer because there's always that possibility that someone will need to borrow my PC when I'm already logged in and find some funny stuff in the My Pictures or Downloads folder Same here I find it best not to save things on my computer, I usually just save anything I dont want people to see on an external hardrive that is encrypted. GXPBlast 597 April 3, 2014 Author Share April 3, 2014 (edited) I have an update for you guys with a super close call that happened a few moments ago. My mom came to me asking for a favor and as I thought I had my tabs all closed out, I noticed that there was an extra window open and did not have enough time to close it. As I was helping my mom get something she wanted me to, she got a good 5 second look at my screen with the windows open with my user profile open. I dont know if she cared to much to focus or she did really get a good look. Either way when she left I had a min-panic attack. I really hope she did not really care for those 5 seconds as it was just really a walk by but I am really afraid she might get to curious and I dont think her reaction would be good. GXPBlast 597 April 3, 2014 Author Share April 3, 2014 I was in pretty much every situation the OP was, except I didn't pull the plug, I just held the power button. That works most of the time. I would have done that but I did not have enough time. I had like 2 seconds before they could see my screen. The plug was a quick method lol. applejock 358 April 3, 2014 Share April 3, 2014 Son... Let me tell you one thing...."Buck em". Why hide your passion, or even passing yearly interest? This moment in your life, if short or years in the making is something that is YOU. You care so much to hide it when you could put rainbow streaks in your hair tomorrow and rock that Derpy shirt and just not give a buck! So being blunt aside, the reality is, and no matter how many times you tell a young pup this, the only way to learn it IS by age. Just do what you want, be yourself. Shoot, society doesnt care anymore. The moment women started yelling neo-fem crap at men who opened doors for them, and the second guys stopped dressing up for a date (SWEAT PANTS ARE NOT FOR GOING OUT TO EAT IN!!), our whole class, posture, and etiqute (sp) system went to crap. Your a Brony, you love candy colord ponies and really really enjoy simple lessons that your Mother taught you as a pup, that life forced away due to things like, being cool, or being "the man" or whatever. Well guess what, Love and Tolerance is BACK in your life, you want to shove it in your back pocket like a wallet, thats cool. But damn son, at leat clip a chain to that bad boy too keep it safe..and swag a bit, eh? 1 ---> Here be Fabulous Mare! <--- There be Brony! ***Fear the Hater, for they are out to taint your Perfection. applejock 358 April 3, 2014 Share April 3, 2014 Explain why its hard? Please! If its your youth, I understand, really I do. But if that is the reason think about it ike this: five years from now you will be late teens to mid 20s, your hormons will have shifted, and you may or may not even care about mlp then. Why not ride the ride now instead of worrying if the lines to long. If it isn't youth, the your an adult who oddly fears what his boss or wife/gf thinks. In that case your stuck "in the mold" and have lost the spak of self worth. And the reality is you change now or wait for your midlife crisis. If it isn't "coming out as a brony" then for celestias sake do it because your a MAN, do it so you don't end up being just another number. Or don't, chill, relax, be happy with your mask and hide forever. ---> Here be Fabulous Mare! <--- There be Brony! ***Fear the Hater, for they are out to taint your Perfection. ~Silver Essence~ 2,625 April 9, 2014 Share April 9, 2014 Well, there was this one time when I was at my job training, and I was browsing through some art of shipping of MLP, as I love it and find it adorable, but my supervisor saw what I was doing, and told me what am I looking at. I got so nervous and scared, that I just said it was "just some research for some fandom about ponies." She looked at me funny, and even thought it was odd of me, but she just said "okay." Never again would I ever see ponies again outside of home. Lesson learned.

GXPBlast 597 April 13, 2014 Author Share April 13, 2014 (edited) Despite taking extra measures as mentioned in previous threads to prevent people including my parents from finding out I am a brony, I still can make careless mistakes.Since I am on the computer alot and can be on MLPforums a bunch, I sometimes can forget to minimize or exit. Just last week I forgot a second window was open and my mom possibly could clearly see me on the site for a good 5 seconds but she said nothing of it.Today now my dad could possibly have seen me on the site. Despite clearly hearing him come up the stairs and on his way heading into my room, I was so busy reading a thread post, that he walked in and possibly saw a good 2-4 seconds of this site open on my 40 inch TV connected to my computer. He said nothing of it but I think he saw it before I could exit and while I did exit. He said nothing of it and asked me to help him with his phone. But seriously, this is another careless mistake after my close call with my mom. So that possibly makes both my mom and dad seeing me on the site.I really need to be more careful and not make these careless mistakes anymore. If they keep seeing me on this site, they may suspect something and I could be screwed. Trust me, I am a closet brony for a reason around my family so please dont question why I am doing such things. TempoVelocity 5 April 13, 2014 Share April 13, 2014 I try to keep myself from being seen on this site and doing anything else pony related, but I'm pretty sure my friends have caught on to it because recently I went to a convention and I kept pointing out all of the mlp cosplayers the entire time we were there. Celestial Wish 349 April 13, 2014 Share April 13, 2014 I honestly cannot relate sadly. I live alone and even if my parents were around, I don't think they'd care cause they know that I wouldn't care if they were close minded. I also don't think they'd care because my parents were total hippies and loved the green leaf. I think being a brony isn't a big bad deal but it does attract bullying and unnecessary parental aggro.
