searching Learning to Let Go (1x1 SoL, Friendship/Romance)

So, I've been wanting to do this for a while. A one-on-one roleplay. And I have what I think to be a pretty good premise, so here goes.

 

Galatea had once thought she'd found true love, only to have it snatched from her by a cruel twist of fate. It's been years since that happened - over a decade, to be more precise - but deep down, she still hasn't forgotten. She never truly grieved for her lost love, and so never really did let go. She just keeps the pain inside, locked up in her heart.

 

Her robot companion/son Nano knew that she worked nearly 24 hours, 7 days a week in that lab of hers. It was her way to keep her mind off of what she'd buried within herself: occupying all of her free time with work, never taking any time off to enjoy free time to herself. And so Nano urged her to take a break and actually go out for once. Galatea goes begrudgingly, but puts on a smile nonetheless once she's out and about.

 

This is where you (my would-be roleplay partner) come in with your character. Whether you have your character fall for her or just want to be friends with her, doesn't matter. (Though, I'd kind of like to take a crack at romance.) The main point will be to help Galatea finally open up her heart and let go of what once was.

 

There are going to be some rules, of course:

 

1. The standard rules of roleplaying apply. No god-modding, yadda, yadda, you know the drill.

 

2. If you're going for romance, don't expect it to be easy. You can have your character fall head over hooves for her at first sight, if that's what your character would do, but don't expect Galatea to instantly reciprocate those feelings. It's going to take some time to get her to really become emotionally invested in/romantically involved with somepony, because she was hurt so deeply in the past by her loss.

 

3. Preferably, I'd like characters that fit in the canon universe. I want some serious character development, stuff that I could possibly write into Galatea's story while still fitting into the canon universe. I might make an exception to this rule, but that depends.

 

4. Please, use proper spelling and grammar. Need I say any more?

 

5. Try to go beyond the character limit. I like detail, and plenty of it! You don't have to write a novel, but I would personally like to see more than one or two paragraphs.

 

6. If you've read up to this point and agree with these rules, tell me your favorite kind of fruit.

 

...Sorry if I sound a little strict there with the rules, but since this will be a one-on-one, I think I have a right to be a little picky about my roleplay partner here. Or... not? :squee:

This looks good! I honestly haven't been in a 1 on 1 yet and I'm honestly excited to have a chance at being in one! For the next week or two I might not be super active, but I'll be on enough :)

 

I think I'll be joining with either Ash Finder or Royroger. It's getting kinda late where I am and I'm on mobile so sorry about the briefness!

And pineapple :P

 

Also, I'm considering Dog Ears. I'll give you a definite answer tomorrow morning :)

 

I've decided to use Dog Ears. I haven't used him in a while and he's always been one of my favorites.

Okay... I'm going to have to pick one. And if I don't pick you, please don't hold it against me...

 

lonewolf1735, I'm sorry, but I'm afraid that a party animal might not appeal very much to Galatea considering her more down-to-earth nature.

 

Thunder-Dash, you might want to take a closer look at the rules, there might be something you missed.

 

@Ampharos, you were the first to respond, and I feel as if your character would be the most compatible with Galatea. I apologize for not responding to you sooner, but I just recently got home to my computer.

Awesome! I'm very excited for this. I guess I should point out that Nestle is a brown hound-like dog and his name is pronounced closer to "Nessle" rather than "Neslee". Just thought it was something to point out :)

Hehe, I figured it was the former, actually, as far as pronunciation. Anyway, is it alright if I start the roleplay out in a cafe, where Dog Ears could happen across Galatea? (Mind you, she won't want to be there, but rather had gone out at Nano's insistence.) Or, maybe she should just be walking outside?

I know you`ve already accepted someone else, but I was wondering if we could still do this roleplay. My character is Nassir, a Zebra. I can come up with reasons why he'd be in Equestria, and how he could bump into your character. While i`d be interested in a romance, Nassir would probably have it be slow goings no matter what. It'd probrably start as a friendship that slowly, and hopefully realistically, grows over time.I hope you`re interested!

 

Of course, since you already have THIS roleplay filled out, maybe we could come up with a different role play to do? I understand completely if not, of course. 

 

Oh, and and love me some Durians!
