Growlithe followed behind Froakie. -I wonder what type of pokemon we'll find here- He thought as he walked with his eyes closed and off in his own world. His ears would twitch and allow him to follow behind Froakie even with his eyes closed. After hearing a voice he opened one of his eyes and looked at him.

"I'm in for simple adventure, learn some new moves, and to see new sights. Nothing special about that" he let out a fire as he yawned. -Plus, I get bored too easily- he thought with a frown.
"What about you?"  He looked around to notice the Vulpix from before.
"So where is everyone else?" he said noticing a few other pokemon from their team were missing.

Vulpix smiles at Froakie and flutters her eyelashes at him.  "Oh no darling, nothing so exciting as that I'm afraid...  Just a girl seeking a little excitement is all, heh heh.  Seeing distant lands, discovering beautiful treasures...  Meeting interesting pokemon..."  She giggles again at that last part.  "Why, that's what has brought me out here.  It's so...  Sweet of you to ask about me though, darling."  

 

As she had spoken Vulpix stood up to walk closer to the others, walking around to step between Froakie and Growlithe.  She growls playfully at Froakie as she finishes speaking, and flicks one of her tails under Growlithe's nose before walking a short distance away to sit down again.

Dedenne beamed as soon as Heliolisk reappeared from beneath the rocks with his green tassel bag.  Still misty eyed, he wiped his face and giggled at Heliolisk's silly antics.  "Heehee...oh gosh, nene..."  The mouse pokemon moved over to Heliolisk to retrieve his bag, looking up at him with an admiring gaze.  "Thank you so, so, sOOOOO much, sir!  You're...you're like a hero!"  Blinking with sudden realization, Dedenne gasped and looked between all three of the older Pokemon.  "Whoa!  Wait a sec, nene...are you a Rescue Team?!"

Heliolisk beamed. He seemed to like the adoration, though he already knew what the Dedenne had said to be true. Not every pokemon has their own fan club, after all. "No need to thank me! Thank your luck for running into me!" Heliolisk chimed. 

 

Whilst Heliolisk was busy admiring himself yet again, Dedenne asked the Oddish a question, to which Oddish happily answered. "Yup!" Oddish said, bluntly. There wasn't much else to say about the manner. "Well, I'm going to catch up now. 

 

 

With Oddish back in the animated state that Vulpix was now assuming how she always acted, the small fire fox shrugs slightly before glancing at Togekiss.  "Er...  Sorry for getting in your way, darling.  We'll just...  Keep moving."  Laughing quietly with a small smile playing across her muzzle, Vulpix slowly turns to start walking towards the entrance of the Mystery Dungeon with her usual sway in her step.

 

Vulpix would never admit it, but...  Dare she say, she was excited?  She knew that Oddish had mentioned that this dungeon wasn't all that dangerous, but still!  It was going to be her first time exploring with these pokemon that, if everything turned out well, were going to be her team!  Adventure, finding new treasures, meeting new people...  She had to make a good impression, because this was going to be her first step!

 

Arriving at the entrance to the dungeon, she turns around to wait for the others.  Oddish had mentioned them being on the same team, along with that shy little Cottonee...  So, there was nothing left for Vulpix but to wait for them!  As she sits there she lifts up one of her front paws, flexing her toes so that she could take a closer look at her stubby little canine claws.  Hmm, I do hope I don't chip one...  I'll have to remember to watch where I step, I suppose.

"Well it seems like everything is alright. I'll just go on ahead to the Mystery Dungeon." As Froakie turned to the dungeon's entrance he noticed three strange figures sneak into the cave. "Hm, that seems strange." The frog Pokemon thought to himself. "Perhaps this first dungeon won't be as easy as we thought." He soon arrived at the entrance around the same time Vulpix did. "So what brings you here?" Froakie asks, trying to make small talk while waiting for his other teammates. "Looking for adventure? Want to get stronger? Seeking vengeance against a Pokemon that dishonored you and your family?" Froakie asked. He doubted any of this was true as he watched Vulpix look at her paw in vain.

When the three arrived to the entrance, they could see that everyone was there. Everyone except Oddish, that is. Froakie's team could easily enter the dungeon without her, but Vulpix and Cottonee would be in some trouble if they did. That pokemon seriously needs to be more on top of things...

Nuzleaf snuck around the rockslide, careful to avoid Togekiss' line of sight. It took him a while, but he ended up emerging out of a clump of bushes in front of the mystery dungeon, right behind Vulpix.

 

"I haven't missed anything important, have I?" He asked, sitting down next to Vulpix, and plucking a blade of grass out of the ground to fiddle with.

Expecting a long wait, Vulpix casually turns her attention back to inspecting her nails again.  "I think your team is all here though...  So I imagine you'll be heading into the dungeon soon?  Do be careful, won't you sweetie?  I'd hate to have to bail you out of a tight spot."  Glancing at Nuzleaf out of the corner of her eye Vulpix grins and growls playfully.

Nuzleaf seemed to struggle with himself for a second, grapping with emotions other than dislike. It looked painful. Of course, Vulpix wouldn't know this.

He ended up smirking over at Vulpix in the end. "I can handle myself. Hopefully you can too." He grunted, shrugging. "Oddish has to be around here somewhere."

 

Cue Oddish landing on his head or something.

Dedenne looked back and forth between Heliolisk and Oddish, quite taken aback by the grass pokemon's sudden appearance.  Actually...many Pokemon were at the rockslide now for some reason, which immediately peaked Dedenne's curiosity.  Turning back to Togekiss, Froslass, and Heliolisk, Dedenne bowed his head with gratitude.  "Thank you again for helping me, nene!"  After putting his bag's strap across his shoulder, the mouse pokemon then scampered after the Oddish, catching up to it rather quickly.

 

"Wait, nene!"  He called out, walking side-by-side with the Oddish now.  "Sorry, nene, I don't know who you are yet!  I'm Dedenne."  He figured introducing himself was the polite way to go about things.  After all, it was his dream to be on a Rescue Team, so what better way to get on one by first getting on a member's good side?

Heliolisk bowed in response to the Dedenne's gratitude. By the time he had looked back up, the little ones were already gone. The trio returned to their work, hoping for no other disturbance.

 

As Oddish headed to the entrance to the dungeon, she noted the pokemon from earlier. His name was Dedenne? Odd. "Hai! I'm Oddish!" Oddish said, still bouncing at her normal pace, despite the fact Dedenne had to basically run to keep up. "I'm the leader of an adventure team!" Oddish said. Such a statement had no connection to the conversation at hand, and Dedenne probably already knew that, but Oddish said it regardless. "We're kinda missing one member, but that's okay. We're heading into a Mystery Dungeon now, actually...!"

When Oddish and Dedenne had arrived, she accidently bumped into Nuzleaf. "Oops! Sorry about that!" She said, bouncing up infront of the entrance. "Alright! So, as I said earlier, this dungeon is super short and sweet! It's only three floors, and the enemies are nothing to fear! Froakie's team, you go in first. My team will go in second."

Cottonee eventually made it back over to Vulpix and Oddish. She had got a little distracted with things and it had taken her a little bit to get there. She tried to casually get a little closer to Vulpix, since she seemed like the most trustworthy on the little squad at the moment.

Dedenne's eyes sparkled with excitement, his heartbeat quickening.  They were already going into a Mystery Dungeon??  Sure, Dedenne has been in one before, but never past the first floor.  Regardless, he was pretty confident in his battling and surviving capabilities.

 

"If it's no trouble, nene, I'd like to go with you guys inside!"  Dedenne offered, looking hopefully around at the other Pokemon.  According to what Oddish said, her team needed another member, so that was working in his favor.  "I'm pretty quick on my feet if you need a speedy guy."

When Oddish bumped into Nuzleaf she inadvertently pushed him into Vulpix, who giggled quietly and didn't make any effort to move away from him.  In fact she may have leaned back into the grass type.  Fluttering her eyelashes as she suddenly found herself very close to Nuzleaf, Vulpix smiles at him and growls playfully.

 

"Why, darling, isn't this rather sudden?"  Vulpix giggles again, bringing a paw up to flick at Nuzleaf's nose.  "You don't want your team to leave you behind though, it sounds like you're going in first..."

Vulpix turns her gaze to her team mates, smiling slightly as she sees the Dedenne from the rockslide and winking at Cottonee as the fairy inches closer to her.  "Oh, I'm starting to look forward to this!  I know you said it's not all that dangerous, but it's starting to sound terribly fun..."

Nuzleaf merely grunted, sounding thoroughly irritated. Getting to his feed and without a word to Vulpix, he got to his feet and walked measuredly towards the entrance to the dungeon. He leant against the wall by the door that was really just a hole in the cliff face, and blew a haunting melody on the piece of grass he had plucked out of the ground. Had to keep his grasswhistling in practice if he'd ever need it. He nodded at Froakie as he blew, as if saying it was about time they headed out.

Froakie returned Nuzleaf's nod. "Alright then seems like it's finally time." he said to his team. "Everyone stick together and watch out for any trouble." Froakie immediately remembered the shadowy figures he saw entering the dungeon. "Come on, let's show Oddish why Team Froakie is the best!" he said before entring the dungeon. "Hm. 'Team Froakie' I quite like that." he thought to himself.

Narrow Cave, Floor 1

 

The team arrives in a small room, with a small puddle of water in the centre of it. There's three hallways, all of which seem to curve. Two of them seem to curve in on each other. A Hoppip sleeps in the third hallway.

Once the other team had left, Dedenne spoke up. Asking a rather peculiar question, no less. "Sure! That'd be awesome!" Oddish said, in response. She had expected the pokemon to ask something of the sort, seeing as it had followed her, plus wasn't from town.

 

"Alright! Are you three ready to go in?" Oddish asked, stepping in front of the entrance. "If any of you are having second thoughts, now's the time to speak up, kay?"

Growlithe was soaking in the light of the sun before he heard Froakie call out to them.
"Team Froakie?" He said confused. "Maybe we  should reconsider that name. I mean not all of us are you, But of course you knew that" he said in an almost mocking voice. -Dark types. always so vain-  He looked back at Nuzleaf -Still I gave my word I should serve them- He sighed and followed behind Froakie.

Heavily desiring to comment sarcastically about how wonderful a team name 'Team Froakie' is for a team with two pokemon who are not Froakie on it, Nuzleaf grimaced a bit and kept going. Inside a Mystery Dungeon was not the best place to be that way.  Anyway, Growlithe voiced exactly his thoughts on the matter. To state them again would be redundant.

 

There was only the one hallway in the room, and even with his sharp eyes, Nuzleaf couldn't see any feral pokemon in here, nor any items worth pilfering. Making it clear they weren't gonna get anything done by standing around talking all day, he started to sneak towards the hallway, beckoning the other two to get a move on and come with him.

Vulpix smiled as she looked at her team mates, with the new addition of Dedenne.  Two grass types and an electric type?  Between them, it seemed like practically any of Vulpix's weaknesses would be covered!  Though she was of course going to have to carry her own weight as well...  

 

"Er, Oddish, sweetie?  Not a second thought, but something I feel I should mention before we go inside..."  Vulpix smiled slightly as she tilted her head.  "I went through a mystery dungeon once - under escort, of course - but I noticed things tended to get bright and sunny around me...  One of the adventurers I was with called it Drought, and he also mentioned that fire moves are stronger during it...   I just can't help but notice both you and Cottonee are grass types, so if we do run into any fire attacks...  Just be extra careful, alright darling?"

 "Yay, nene!"  Dedenne jumped with glee upon Oddish's answer. He was finally going to be on a Rescue Team, and now he'll be able to bring smiles to the faces of Pokemon in need.  Given, he wasn't actually on the squad yet, but he hoped to convince them to make him a permanent team member while inside the dungeon.  His whiskers sparkled with electricity in excitement as he nodded enthusiastically.  "I'm ready, Cap'n!"  Dedenne took the time to look over at the other two Pokemon beside him; one was another dual fairy-type, Cottonee.  He had a Cottonee friend back at home, so he knew they were best at defending and stalling.  This Cottonee would compliment Dedenne's poor defenses quite well in the dungeon.  The other Pokemon was a Vulpix, which Dedenne didn't know too much about besides her being fire-type.  He should be able to cover those super effective water-types if the need arose, although Vulpix mentioning the Drought inside meant that water moves would be weakened.  That also meant that Dedenne would have to work extra hard to cover for the two grass Pokemon on the team, which would be more difficult for him to do than Vulpix since Dedenne won't get a power boost from the sunny weather.

 

Just remembering that he had failed to introduce himself to anyone here besides Oddish, Dedenne faltered before speaking up again.  "O-Oh!  Sorry, nene, I forgot to tell you guys my name.  I'm Dedenne; hope we can get along well!"  He flashed them a mousy grin to show his sincerity.

"It clearly curves into that other one there." he says pointing to the path a few feet away from the first one. "You see that one with the Hoppip? That's most likely the right way." Froakie explains. "We shouldn't have too much trouble dealing with it, should it awaken, but if we have to fight then everyone stay close." he says before turning to Growlithe. "And you." he starts. "You'll need to cover us seeing as your a fire type. I doubt Nuzleaf and I can do much to a grass type otherwise."

As Nuzleaf neared the curved hall, it seemed to split off into two directions. One towards one of the other halls in the room, and the other in the exact opposite direction. 

 

A Gothita had stumbled up beside the Hoppip. It tried to shake Hoppip awake, paying no heed to the three intruders.

Narrow Cave, Floor 1

 

Despite the fact Oddish' team entered the dungeon second, they might be the ones out first. This was because the first room they found themselves in was already where the stairs to the next floor were. However, a Ledyba, Hoppip, and two Starly guarded said stairs. Both of the Starly were sleeping, but the Hoppip and Ledyba managed to catch sight of the four pokemon. Hoppip was the first to float over to the team, shooting Bullet Seed at them. Ledyba followed, looking to be readying an attack.

 

Oddish nodded. It was just her luck she was weak to everything in the room in someway. Sure, she could take them all easily, but Cottonee certainly couldn't, and she was a grass type too. "I can get the pink one! You guys try to get the other ones!" Oddish said, running up to the Hoppip, being careful to avoid the Bullet Seed. Oddish was indeed fast. Ridiculously fast, in fact. She easily bounded up to Hoppip, and managed to sprinkle it with some sort of purple powder. This left the Hoppip seemingly dizzy. Before it could react to being poisoned, however, it was hit with a barrage of purple arrows, inevitably knocking the pokemon out.

Vulpix blinks at how rapidly Oddish took off to deal with the Hoppip, leaving them to deal with the others.  The light around her was already starting to grow brighter as Drought took affect, and she quickly glanced at the rest of her team.

 

"Erm...  I'll deal with the Ledyba, since I have the type advantage.  You two...  Deal with the sleeping pair I suppose?"  It seemed like the logical conclusion to Vulpix, anyways.  With a small smile and a wink at Dedenne and Cottonee, Vulpix turned to start walking towards the Ledyba.  Her usual sway was still in her step even here in the dungeon - she seemed as though she could have been walking down a city street, or even a catwalk at a fashion show.  As she drew closer towards the Ledyba, Vulpix opens her mouth and fires a small burst of fire towards the bug type.  An Ember attack - even this she managed to make look sophisticated.  And while she had other tricks she could have reverted to, she figured it was best to stick to the simple type advantage for now...  Who knows when her other moves would come in useful, after all?

Starly = Flying

 

Cottonee = Grass

 

Flying + Grass = Cottonee

 

Having done the math in her head, Cottonee started to panic. What if the Starlys had a flying type move? Surely they would! And even if they didn't, Cottonee wouldn't be able to do anything! All she could do was her weak little Fairy Wind. What good would that be? What was the point of even coming here? She was useless and weak. What allowed her to believe she could actually be something worth while? Cottonee tried to keep a straight face. She'd leave after this dungeon was over. "Um... Could you lead the way Dedenne?"

Dedenne faltered upon Cottonee's request.  Take on two enemy Pokemon at once?  Given, they were both flying-type Starlys, but still.  Oddish was receiving a Chlorophyll speed boost from the sun, and Vulpix a power boost.  Dedenne had to rely on super effectiveness alone.

 

But then it dawned on Dedenne.  Duh, he knew Parabolic Charge, which was basically a stronger Thundershock.  But it came with some cool little benefits, too; not only did it drain energy, but it also could hit multiple targets at once!  Perfect for this case.  He smiled confidently, clenching his fists with new-found confidence.

 

"Sure thing, Cottonee, nene!  Watch this..."  Sneaking up to the sleeping Starlys, Dedenne poised at the ready before releasing electricity from his whiskers into the two Pokemon.  He directed the electricity to transfer some of the energy from the Starlys back into Dedenne's body, and during the whole Parabolic Charge attack Dedenne felt his energy levels increasing rapidly.

Growlithe looked at the Hoppip. -I guess I could take it down easily, but there is no honor in that-. He let out a low growl from the back of his throat. He had a habit of growling when he was thinking about what to do.

"I'm going to guess most pokemon in here are grass types and don't worry I already gave my word to help and support you. Never doubt my word"  he said before heading towards the Hoppip. With great effort he began trying to walk softly and around the Hoppip.

Ledyba was easily hit by Vulpix's Ember attack. The bug type fluttered down, landing on the ground with a muffled thud. It shook it's head, clearly upset about being hurt, and fired a Swift attack at Vulpix. The move hitting Vulpix - as it never misses- gave the pokemon just enough time to be able to hover up again. Ledyba wanted no part of Vulpix, and instead set it's sights for something else. Cottonee seemed like an easy target. Ledyba then fired Silver Wind at Cottonee.

 

The Starlys, on the other hand, were immediately awoken by Dedenne's attack, flailing and flying into each other in confusion. They started pecking at each other, before realizing what was going on. The two then flied after Dedenne, aiming their Peck attacks at him.

Hoppip still failed to wake up, though Gothita who had been trying to awaken it did acknowledge Growlithe, and the other intruders. Instead of attacking, however, she began to cry (Fake Tears).
