mars 4,863 March 4, 2014 Share March 4, 2014 Okay how about this. When Sombra was defeated he wasn't killed but sent to earth, so the mane six have to defeat him again, only this time with the use of guns! You're missing the point. The target demographic (or most bronies for that matter) don't want to see the mane six murdering someone in cold blood.
SnipSnap 432 March 4, 2014 Share March 4, 2014 When sucker punch was released here in the UK it had a rating of 12A, which meant that anyone could see it as long as they were with someone over 18. That had plenty of guns but no bloodshed. Also there were quite a few kids in the audience. Did you even read this post? THE GODDAMN MLP SHOW IS FOR KIDS. PARENTS WOULD SUE HASBRO IF THAT MOVIE EVER CAME TRUE. And I mean very VERY young kids. Not 12-year-olds that just begun watching people kill. 3 All credit goes to Kyoshi

It could be one way of marketing FIM beyond little girls and bronies. They could market this movie at boys and say hey look liking MLP is cool, they don't just sit around doing their makeup. You could even do a brand new toy line aimed squarely at boys! Beautiful, Stylish, Fabulous AND evil! What more could you want? (Thanks Kyoshi for letting everyone use your sigs!) You could even do a brand new toy line aimed squarely at boys!My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic doesn't even show any of the ponies doing makeup (except Equestria Girls)! And bronies are the same as boys, and the manufacturers got it covered with selling the stuff to boys anyways. You don't need to aim it specifically at them anyways, they would have to screw up the entire show to do that! And the movie idea you have is a perfect example of messing it all up. Except that we don't need that. FIM is a very good thing in that it has broken down stereotyped gender walls. This show needs no help crossing the gender acceptance line except in the eyes of those who are stuck in their 1800s way of thinking that women belong in the kitchen and men should be big and tough, out there working in a steel mill. 3 WTB: Luna, Trixie dog tags & AJ blind bag | This fandom needs more Mane-iac! | AJ, Rarity, and Trixie trot into a bar. PartyWithPinkie 189 March 4, 2014 Share March 4, 2014 I'm pretty sure if they did some big blockbuster pony movie that they would use the voice actors already hired. Aren't they bound by contract, or something? So whenever something is happening with the show, they are a part of it because.... Well, that's their job? And the voice actors who voice our ponies are not exactly unknown, you'd be surprised at how many fans those ladies have even before MLP. And Katy Perry as Pinkie? Oh.... The cringe. I wouldn't want someone who was in the Smurf movie to voice a pony. And movies have been casting a lot of unknown actors and actresses recently. I don't know where you're getting the idea that the movie would do badly simply because of the voice actors. It would be like if they got Angelina Jolie to voice Twilight Sparkle for the Equestra Girls movie because if Tara Strong did it, the movie wouldn't do well because not everyone on planet earth knows who Tara is. It's not like someone's gonna go "Hey, I don't know who these voice actors are, who are probably altering their voice beyond recognition anyway. This movie sucks!" And they wouldn't get new voice actors anyway. They know it's a bad idea because we would hate it and they want our money,

So we're just going to pull the gender stereotype card and say us dudes over here just want guns, blood and shit blowing up now? I admit those things are cool but I can enjoy a well-written, cute, emotional story just as much. Also, just because some of us like those things in fanworks doesn't mean we want them in cannon. Yellow Diamond 7,575 March 4, 2014 Share March 4, 2014 I wonder how frosted Tara Strong would be if anything like this were to happen? I know she's been outspoken in her agitation over blockbuster animations filling up on stage and screen actors who basically do their own voices. The only times that approach has worked without trouble are arguably the Toy Story trilogy and the first two Shrek movies. In the latter franchise, however, you still had Cameron Diaz voicing herself as a red-haired ogre. I'd cringe pretty hard if a bunch of celebrities replaced the original voice actors for the Mane Six. 2 Domine, tu omnia nosti, tu scis quia amo te. If she wasn't singing, and carried a political message with her I'd rage so hard we'd re-invade Iraq. So, if she just shows up to sing some nice music, then I'm fine with that. So long as she sings, and doesn't bring any political nonsense celebs are famous for bringing to everything they do. http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/vera-yeoman-r5921Muh pleb tier OC .http://mlpforums.com/blog/1663/entry-12477-pony-waifu-wedding-13-maiq-x-fleetfoot/ MLP forum's #1 Fleetfoot fan also married to fleetfoot <

Yellow Diamond 7,575 March 4, 2014 Share March 4, 2014 How would you feel if someone like Beyonce appeared in the show? I'd first wonder why she was brought aboard to voice a character. My suspicion would be that Hasbro was looking for some publicity, not unlike when Tori Spelling did all those promos for "A Canterlot Wedding". Apprehensive as I might be about the whole affair, I'd still watch the episode with keen interest to see if it amounted to nothing more than a giant publicity stunt. If it turned out to be a good episode as a result of Beyonce's participation, I'd heap due praise upon her. As I alluded to in my previous post, I'm not completely averse to celebrity voice acting; however, if they're done for their own sake and not for the general benefit of the show, it becomes a distraction and detriment. You could start a new toy range based around Dashie and call it something like Action Ponies! Hasbro is pretty happy with their original target audience of little girls and are happy that even people outside of the demographic are buying their products too but that doesn't mean they're going to try to push it to every demographic in the world because that isn't what it's made for. Although, I'm excited to see what they do in the next 5 years of MLP. I hope the do something like Ninja Turtles where the last season was way darker and heaver because they were trying to keep up with the kids they already had as fans and mature it for them, I'd be really interested to see what they did with that if they made it a little darker and stuff. Pushing it to an ultra-violence level immediately (or at all for that matter) is not the same thing as naturally making it a little darker over time, though and the former should never happen.
Flutter's lover <3 8,206 March 6, 2014 Share March 6, 2014 No. Keep the original VAs. Why would they even change them? It wouldn't be My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic without the proper/original voice actors. It'd turn into some Hollywood look a like. and it would suck. the voice acting is one of many aspects of the show I fell in love with. Take away the Original VAs...and...well, it's not MLP anymore. As I said more like sucker punch! The mane six with kung fu skills and automatic weapons! Guns and MLP don't mix. I sure as hell wouldn't wanna see the mane 6 with guns in a big movie. As it wouldn't be MLP. As much as I love FIM, some seem to delude themselves over how big the fandom really is! Come on, it's not Star Wars! Dude, the fandom IS HUGE. Sure it might not be as big as Star Wars. but Star Wars has also been around since the 70s, and it's ALWAYS been big. Where as MLP has been around since the 80s and 90s, it wasn't big at all, until now that is. And it's not really fair to compare a fandom that's only been popular for a few years to a fandom that's been huge for a few decades. 1 Fluttershy's lover, she's my waifu. TwilightDreamer 69 March 12, 2014 Share March 12, 2014 That would be a recipe for disaster for MLP. The CGI would do the film that you mentioned some good if it gets off the ground but Flash animation is so easy and so simple when you look at it from cartoons that DHX Media have done in the past. I don't think a CGI movie made with a new cast simply for the box office amounts would be a blessing, I would say it's actually a curse since it would destroy what makes MLP today so great. Getting a new cast for the money would only make the franchise and the fandom along with the show suffer since there's bound to be some controversy that will stir upon news of the new voice actors and actresses. What makes a film a classic and a masterpiece is more important than money any day so why would they just hire new voice actors and actresses just for that reason and putting the steps into making a great film on the wayside? I would have to say for my final answer: NO. Let's just keep that CGI movie and new cast idea out of the way and not get onto it too much, it's just too far ahead into the future. Besides, I wouldn't want to be in or help make a cartoon movie just for the money, I want to work on it to just enjoy the fun and excitement that cartoons back then would give to us when we were kids.
