Lykos proceeded to give him his own piece of mind. He was walking slowly to the other side of Artemis.

"We are not doing the same mistake again with this warlock or his associates. You are not helping yourself one little bit by glorifying his purpose. His purpose means nothing to us, and i doubt you'll get a different fate if you continue being stubborn like this."

Hmph! He flared his nostrils a bit dismissively... Perhaps they required help from him and it would increase their odds against the ferals but regardless if he wasn't willing to share some information about him. 

Artemis on the other hand grunted her teeth beneath her mouth in an attempt to keep things in her mind under control. This stupid pony was not helping itself my being the same a-hole with his friend. She would rather kill him before anything happened that she didn't agree about. Right now she wasn't willing to be democratic about the situation... no more mistakes, no more double crosses, no more traitors... NO MORE.

"Your comrade is dead." she stated simply.

Pious had been about to pound the two ponies into the ground for daring to speak to him, a prince, in such a manner. But when he heard of his teacher's death, he stopped.

"That's impossible! Mantorok can't have expired, all hope is lost if that is so!" Pious sputtered, eyes wide and mouth hanging slack

Soul nodded at what this pony was saying. It was nice to see that they had reached a mutual agreement.

 

"I'll try to, but like I said, they may try and do something stupid and rash, so I can't make any promises. Can I still get your promise that you will not harm them if they DO decide to something stupid, like try and get a sample?" Soul said as they walked through the forest. For the first time, It struck Soul how big these ponies actually WERE thanks to their Equibane usage. This pony was easily the size of Celestia, maybe even bigger, and Soul's Neck barely made it up to the top of Malinter's Thigh.

@@Pripyat Pony,@,@@Aquaspark, ((OOC:Lykos is a wolf...)) Apparently the newcomer had more than just... met the warlock. What relation they had was beyond her... it was clear that he valued him much. Perhaps this was something they could use. Artemis stayed silent for a bit then proceeded to take out the magical paper that Soul had given her.

"I have an inside source... another of our friends that managed to be captured. He was reported dead from him... He witnessed it. He wrote a response himself here."

She said that and then she handed the enchanted piece of paper to him. Right now both him and Lykos were simply... observing... not doing anything else... but keeping quiet... and await a reponse.

"Impossible!" Pious grumbled, snatching the paper up and looking at it frantically. He growled in frustration and tore it apart, spitting on it. "If this is true, then the world is doomed. Without him to keep in check chaos, the world will be torn asunder" Pious ranted, pacing back and forth

Pious reacted instantly, turning his body to diamond and ramming the one who had just insulted him. "You ignominious fool! You'll suffer for your insolence!" Pious hissed, using his telekinesis to pick up loose stones on the ground and fling them at his foe in a veritable storm of pebbles

@@Pripyat Pony,@,@@Aquaspark, "I don't give a damn about you being offended. If you seek to fight me i'm no pushover!" She wasn't the one to be taken out like that. Instead of trying to avoid it she donned her metals claws and put them in front of her acting like a shield. She was hit but most of what was hurt was her ego... she just stood there proudly and tall. "You are going to get yourself killed in here... you tearing that paper facilitated that. You have no idea what you're up against... how were you going to get to Mantorok anyways? You are weak... you are alone... and now... you are done for." She was trying to get under his skin... Lykos was standing ready looking for a way to help... but he didn't want to get in the way of Artemis' own attacks... besides he enjoyed the fact that the tigress, the panther of the wild Artemis was acting. She resembled more her cunning self that brought them so close together.

"Silence, puerile brat!" Pious snarled in rage, charging forward himself and beginning to grapple Artemis. He wasn't afraid of her, his skin hardened to diamond levels. "Apologize and I may hold back my wrath" Pious offered, attempting to force her down. In a brawl, he held the edge, in his mind anyway

Sou's bag began to light up and made a very loud cracking noise. Soul noticed it instantly and took action, knowing what it was. He cursed.

"Get down, NOW." He told Malinter, as he threw his bag down onto the ground and ran to hide behind some nearby trees.

 

Using his magic, he grabbed the Magical parchment from his bag and thrust it out. Almost as soon as he got it out, it burst into flames. Making it fly as high as he could, the parchment exploded very loudly. He cursed even more, wishing that he had something nearby to punch.

So you actually DO want his corpse because if it doesn't provide what you want it will likely provide clues as to where what you want is!" She acted like she didn't hear the "Tome of Eternal Darkness" part but a portion of her was deeply disturbed as she glanced Lykos and the others with a warning not to tackle the subject. It would be best to be prepared to take this person out regardless... and it would also be best to take their time... hurting themselves fataly too early would not be wise. Afterall they had ferals to face.

Pious snorted at their lack of enlightenment, feeling very proud for having eclipsed their intelligence...in his mind at least. Just as he was about to launch into another tirade about how he didn't need to look around Mantorok's body, there were notes inside Mantorok's house, he paused, realizing how idiotic he had just acted. These ponies must have psionic abilites to manipulate you!

Malinter hadn't bothered to move. He was very tough to kill and he'd been hit with stronger in his lifetime, he watched the patchment explode above them before turning his attention by to Soul behind the tree.

 

"I suppose I should ask what just happened... only now you've probably alerted every wild beast within a dozen miles of us. We'll have to save the lecture onf Equibane for another time. We must move quickly."

@, @, Glory had stood back to allow Artemis to do the talking; now tho, she had to act. For one thing, the fight would attract wild animals to this spot; for another, it was entirely possible that they were not alone.

 

"Enough!" she cried out, using her magic to lift Pious up in the air and hold him there. "You will stop this at once! I am a prophetess. I can see right now that if you continue along the path you are currently taking, you will end up like your master. You have just one chance to save yourself, but you must choose now!"

 

Glory was telling the truth. In the brief moment that she had been alone while Artemis had gone to face down the intruder, a vision had come to her. Her visions did not only tell one probability; sometimes, they told more. And one had shown her the stranger's death if he went off alone into the woods to try and recover Manterok's possessions.

Nearby, hidden from sight, Sanura watched. She would go back to the others once she had asertained exactly who these ponies were and what they intended to do, for this could impact on the Tribe.

Pious struggled in the telekinetic grip, finally settling for becoming solid gold. The extra weight should make holding him a lot harder, though it would lower his durability. He gave her a disdainful glare as the telekinesis broke from the extra weight and he landed hard. He was superstitious and would believe her...maybe even respect her.

 

"Your education is clearly superior to the brute whom assaulted me. I shall heed your words, but best make it quick, lest I lose my temper" Pious snarled out

"You already have," Glory pointed out. "And what good has it done you? My vision showed me two possibilities. One, is the one that shows your death at the hooves of the ferals after you storm the camp to try and get back your mentor's possessions. Do not think that your breed will save you; there are crystal ponies among the ferals, too, tho not pureblooded ones, and they have ingested Equibane which makes them stronger. The second possibility shows you agreeing to join with us, and staying alive. I leave the choice of what you do next in your hooves. All I can do is pass on the warning I received; I do not wish to impose on you."

Pious barked out a haughty snort. "I wasn't going to Mantorok's body, I couldn't care less about it" Pious chuckled, smirking widely. "Like I said, I'm after the Tom-" Pious began, remembering himself and shutting up quickly. "Be that as it may, however, vengeance on the ones who killed my master would be pleasing. Very well, I shall join your squad. But put a muzzle on your dog" Pious sneered, giving Artemis a glare

@@Pripyat Pony,@,@@Aquaspark, "Everyone... be silent." She says observing cautiously her surroundings... something was definately wrong and she knew it. You know that feeling when someone's ire is on you and you feel their cold gaze upon you? That was the feeling she had now. She just stayed silent directing her senses and ears around at all directions. So focused she was that thankfully for the crystal unicorn's sake she didn't hear him trying to rudely patronize her. 

Lykos noticed her reaction in time and carefully and slowly he went near Glory and whispered in her ear... "We got company... make no sound... Don't look around, don't let them know we noticed them."

@, @, Glory's eyes widened but apart from that, she made no indication that she was unnerved by what Artemis was telling her.

 

"They don't have to be enemies," she whispered back. "In fact, since they're watching us and not attacking, based on what we have seen so far, it's unlikely that they're a feral."

@@Pripyat Pony,@,@[member=Simpleton Spice], Artemis suddenly turned towards the unicorn asking straightforwardly.

"Did you see anyone on your way here?" she looked at him straight in the eyes inspecting them with a piercing gaze for any kind of information. She was on the lookout for any inconsistencies on his speech and any clue as to if he lied or not. In the meantime Lykos was also worried.

"I don't know... i don't trust this guy much... Mantorok was a pain in the butt and i doubt he will be any different. If he betrays us... i kill him... just so we're clear."

@@Pripyat Pony, @,@[member=Simpleton Spice],  "Well i certainly don't know you... would you mind clearing the air as to who you are? That is if you wish the "facilitation" of our actions together." She says snickering. He wasn't the only one to learn the "perplexed" version of the language. She certainly wanted to learn about it... that way she could pass through the veil the authority wore and play them at their own game. It was interesting to see them use fancy words to cover up their lies... and she wasn't going to stand up for it.
