I think he would have escaped anyway, the EoH effects have been known to 'run out', if the tree that made them can be drained then so can any spell cast with them, if anything the CMC's arguing just the straw breaking the camels back.

Discord is a spirit, not a god. We don't know if he's unkillable or not. In any case, he'd the spirit of "discord" not chaos. Discord(the word) refers to breaking friendships apart and causing strife, ergo, evil. There's also him brainwashing people and causing property damage.  

 

Still, the cows get penned up and the end of the day, barked at by dogs, and lassoed. The animals in Fluttery's yard are free to go as they please, she doesn't keep them caged up

True, but Discord turned out to be capable of good after all. He hasn't caused any chaos since, and if he even thinks about it, Flutters keeps him in line anyway. He's also the one who convinced Twilight Sparkle to go back and save her friends.

 

As for the cows, maybe it's for their own good. Where else would cows go during the night? They wouldn't fit through any doors, and they probably don't have the intelligence to live in a house anyway. Didn't know about the getting barked at by dogs part though.

A few minutes? Discord would perform a whole musical about himself and how awesome he is before he'd even bother to attack. If anything he'd actually let Celestia set her own plans first then act. Hence why he gave her time to get Twilight and her freinds all the way from ponyville before he even introduced himself them.

I'd like to think we has humans are either smart enough or cowardly enough to decide that the words of a talking horse with magical powers are worth listening to. I think it depends on the extent of the power she can display for us. If she can, say, cause the sun to spontaneously set or whatever, then yeah, I think we as a race would be cowed.

Well........that could be.  Then again, we have weaponry which even Oppenheimer, himself stated it was nothing but a power of total destruction, so i doubt she would survive,   For us to listen to her to, i doubt that would happen to b/c you would have the power of the churches coming back and referring her as a heretic.  (You could say our views towards Celestia would be somewhat similar to the Covenant's Prophets, stating the humans are heretics to there gods and are destined to be destroyed, type of thing).

Science puts Celestia to shame. Assuming Celesta and Nightmare Moon are equally matched, the biggest thing they can destroy is a stone pillar. A nuke would vaporize Celestia

Naww, Tyrant Celestia is nothing to believe in. It's just an ongoing joke like Molestia, or Trollestia. I personally love Celestia to pieces, (2nd favorite pony) so I'm not really a laugher for them. They'd never make a tyrant princess like Celestia in a kid's show like MLP.

Yup............Mankind's greatest weapon and its ultimate destruction.   The atomic bomb......a power to decimate every living thing in its path.

 

BTW, want to quote something from a very famous person, for he even said such a power would be indescribable:

What about telekenesis? I don't think a limit to Celestia's ability to levitate things has been established in canon. Maybe the reason they use lame ass magical beams in canon is because they can't be magically forced back. In theory she could catch anything thrown her way, bullets, missiles. Of course that's speculation, but since it's never been shown falsified in canon I think it's a valid possibility to consider.
