Rarity Paige Belle 1,855 March 23, 2014 Share March 23, 2014 It was actually the comics, not the show that got me hooked on FIM. Beautiful, Stylish, Fabulous AND evil! What more could you want? Scootalove 10,692 March 23, 2014 Share March 23, 2014 Well, the comics have an alternate universe style to them and it's fine to have the comics interest you than the show doing the same thing. Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules

Andaasonsan 3,205 March 23, 2014 Share March 23, 2014 Without the voice actors it's just not the same though. I can imagine them with the right voices, but the delivery just isn't quite right. Application REJECTED!

As much as I've begun to love Rarity, I still can't get over her voice. This way, instead of having to listen to her transatlantic voice I can imagine her as a proper British lady! GrimCW 658 March 23, 2014 Share March 23, 2014 (edited) Love the comics a TON, the in jokes, the expansion of the characters and world, and how it reaches farther than the show can be permitted while sticking to its "target" audience (Apple booze and drunk ponies FTW!) . The comics literally create a LIVELY world, where the show has a rather.. somewhat uninhabited place... Sure we see a lot of BG ponies, but not much going on with them usually, they're just disposables. The comic has constantly recurring characters, and it ties its various counterparts together to some degree (well.. thankfully not the RD mini... ) I love the comic, but the show has its charm as well, and always will IMO. TBH I wish Tibbles would make a transition (and opossum as a pet.. lol.. or live pony chess... fun!), as well as the Luna/Celestia personalities the comics has displayed. They seem more alive than in the show, where they often seem to just be literally nothing but supporting characters without personalities :/ The two actually have a relationship going, and have their own things happening, while the show just kinda of.. guest stars... And I don't solely refer to the micro series for the princesses, they actually explained in a short about Celestia's lack of participation in the changeling incident in the first season as well at the end of the final book. And the second saw a good portion of Luna's character pulled together and explained. Edited March 23, 2014 by GrimCW

FlutterDash4072 190 March 23, 2014 Share March 23, 2014 They're both great, and I'm way more excited for the next three issues of the main series comic than any of the episodes they've announced. Plus Spike, Celestia, and Luna are written better in the comics than in the show. Of course, they both also have their down moments, since issues in the side series can be pretty terrible. Hell, I'd say that the RD micro is worse than MMDW. 1 Signature made by Wheatley

Aisling Ink 195 March 23, 2014 Share March 23, 2014 I think the comics have a charm of their own, as stated before they are darker and get into stories we all would like to see the sequel of. They also go more in depth with certain characters and we see sides of them which we never will in the show. I don't think the comics beat season 1 and 2 but they are definitely better than the show for me as well at the moment. My OC Aisling Ink
FlutterDash4072 190 March 23, 2014 Share March 23, 2014 I have to admit that the last Friends Forever comic was a bit lame. I can understand that, even thought I loved it personally. It was light on humor and action, but it gave Spike and Celestia great characterization imo. Signature made by Wheatley

KittyTwilight 110 March 23, 2014 Share March 23, 2014 To be honest, I've never gotten my hands on any of them... I'm still reluctant as my parents don't know I like mlp as much as I do though they know I like it. If anypony knows if there is somewhere online I can download them, tell me. InspiredBrony 31 March 24, 2014 Share March 24, 2014 I think the same as you. I fell like the comics were made for the brony part of the fandom. You can definitely see more action, darker and scarier themes, and even ponies getting hurt. BAD! Did anyone read issue 17? Dang!
