Not sure why some people would assume WAV is better than FLAC or ALAC for music listening. They're identical when in use, WAV is wasting space, as for the CPU usage thing, it hardly uses anything on my Pi 5 setup in Jriver, 2%. If a single board computer can handle that with ease, any modern hardware will. The loss of convenience for library management with metadata is not worth the minor performance boost IMO.

FLAC is king. They are larger file sizes but so worth it.

Larger than mp3 yes, FLAC IMO offers the ideal middle ground between metadata support and quality. It's lossless, but it doesn't consume almost a gigabyte per CD album in doing so. Depending on the compression ratio a CD consisting of 20 songs can get below 500 megabytes. I hope Amazon scraps mp3 for new customers and upgrades to FLAC for music distribution, Beatport and Bandcamp are way ahead of them.

You know like when you hear other people mowing their lawns, but you haven't mown your lawn, so you feel guilty, because you haven't mown your lawn, but when you hear other people mowing their lawns and you have mown your lawn, you feel smug, because you've mown your lawn before they did. :D

Pfft, mowing lawns is overrated anyway. The grass monoculture isn't even natural :p

So a teaser dropped the other day for the elusive "Season 7" of Gumball huh, and there's been no sign of any horrible redesigns and the humour still looks on point? My curiosity is piqued. yI7Rcre.png

Saw it too, it seems the exact same, maybe because Ben is directly involved, but it looks great :D

I did see Mr. Bocquelet was still involved so I had hopes, Gumball was one of my favourite cartoons so I might be quite excited for this. XTLLMik.png

I was thinking about how my social anxiety makes it hard for me to communicate exactly what I want to say. You see me super energetic and overall out there on here, but in real life..I'm really just an extremely anxious person who hardly speaks. I sometimes have to write down what I want to say and give it to the person because talking is a challenge. I'm still anxious on here too. I try to write something, but I delete it, write, start over again, and write again. And even then I don't like what I said. I don't know, sorry, I'm just bad at talking.

I used to have the same problem as you. I used to be unable to talk to other people in real life and sometimes I still have problems with it, but the situation has improved. I think that with time you will also be able to communicate better with people in real life. When I write messages on the forum I often check whether I wrote the messages correctly and sometimes I also don’t like what I wrote, so I rewrite the message, but over time I have become less likely to do this. Don't worry, you communicate well on the forum. Especially in the blog "Today is A Gift" you wrote amazing text!:fluttershy:

I agree about FLAC, it's the format I use for my music player, too! Although, the space required does rely heavily on the source. For example, CD quality —44.1 kHz and less than 1000 kbps per song— can indeed take just a few MBs. But! if we go to high fidelity extracts, I have seen things like 192 kHz and over 5000 kbps, making each song around 200-250 MBs, so you can imagine the rest of the album!!

True, FLAC is flexible in that regard. I have to use compression anyway on my Pi 5 setup because SD cards have bad lifespans unless you use the high endurance ones, but they have problems of their own, slow write speeds, really if people want both good speed and reliability they should use an SSD. People did complain that the Pi 5 did not come with an NVme SSD slot, which I can understand why, 100 megabytes per second read/write speed is definitely not helpful, not even in Linux when web browsers constantly access the drive cache for cookies and whatever else.

I've read on other forums where people have managed to kill their SD cards in a matter of months when using them in the Pi, but if it happens to me, as long as I got files backed up which I do, It's not too much of a problem anyways, because SD cards, even the Sandisk extreme pro ones don't cost too much. I just have to be careful how I use it that is all.

Why must cars be so expensive, it always goes from 'some' into 'several hundred' in expenses.  kRFqYRS.png Sigh, time to look on Ebay for a new headlight and see how much that will be as well...

Here's another dangerous death battle situation if a crossover happened between two fictional characters, Queen Chrysalis from My Little Pony vs Shadow the Hedgehog from Sonic the Hedgehog, Chrysalis had prep time, managed to master chaos control with the chaos emeralds after learning about them, and gained Sonic's super speed because she ambushed him and siphoned his energy away, it is stated in the wiki that Chrysalis in the comic version of MLP can steal others magic when using her love draining abilities, this would imply physical attributes as well, I mean, Sonic's powers aren't exactly rooted in science.

To use an analogy here, in Dragonball fiction, it was shown that characters had to use Ki to enhance their physical abilities, because biology alone was never enough to secure a victory for either side of a battle. Ki is sort of like magic, but it is not spell casting or divine intervention, in eastern mythology it is the energy of the life force in living beings. Ki is not rooted in science either and has never been proven to exist in reality, but you get my point here.

I do believe Chrysalis love draining abilities in My Little Pony to be a censored type of life force drain, as when she uses it she does weaken another character.

In my death battle suggestion I made earlier, before anyone says that is Chrysalis cheating by gaining the powers from others, her opponent being an artificial life form is not exactly a fair fight either. Prep time and all the rest of the amps given was necessary in my opinion to even the playing field and make that death battle more entertaining for fans to watch if it were to happen in an animated video. One sided battles are boring.

Playing through Pokemon White for the first time and N is probably the most interesting Pokemon antagonist... Can I join him? Or adopt him? :D

I want to get my own place, unfortunately for the time being I am stuck in a Council estate where there are waiting lists for moving home.

I had to terminate a conversation with somebody in my home by walking out of the room because she kept raising her voice at me, I am annoyed with the way she treats me sometimes. I cannot have a normal conversation with her because when she raises her voice she is not a pleasant individual to be around, it becomes doubly aggravating when she blames me for it, accusing me of not letting her get a word in, when I do. I like my brothers but not her, she may be my Carer for the moment but at this point I'd rather be on my own because of all the negativity with her.

And she is not the only relative in the family who has treated me like this. This is the definition of a broken home, now I realize the reason why I used to be so short tempered, her influence.
