I've gotten brain freeze from drinking a slushy before, definitely not a unique thing, happens often.

A change in external circumstance seems to have little connection to internal change. I am surprised to feel no more or less inclined to perform certain tasks in this new environment than in the old one. So much has change and nothing has changed at the same time and it is only through internal change that I’ll be able to make the most of this new environment.

It is so interesting that you talk about this. I have been recently reading into stoicism and it literally discusses this very thing. I have been attempting to apply what I have read. I understand it on an intellectual level, but processing it or applying it emotionally is where the challenge can be at times.

There's an oversight I have to correct later on in my fanfiction, that inconsistency only happened because I wanted to add the latent memory part for past lives, and I need to clarify that all past life memories will be retrievable once characters end up in Nirvana.
