mega thread What are you thinking?

I like how efficient Linux is, on Raspberry Pi OS less than 2gb used, and that is with Chromium web browser use with Jriver media center.

Compare that to Windows 11, even after fresh install it regularly consumes a whopping 8gb with similar activity. And people want to tell me planned obsolescence isn't a thing?

My Pi 5 system has about 8gb of RAM so less than 2gb used with application use is not bad.

About that controversy about Monarchy existing in My little Pony Friendship is Magic, the same thing gets stirred up about Disney Princesses, another piece of culture war rubbish I want nothing to do with. Although I do agree that Sultan in Disney's Aladdin movie was not competent, Jasmine would be a better ruler of Agrabah in my opinion. Sultan did not see Jafar's treason as a red flag enough to have him removed, if Aladdin hadn't have come to save him, Agrabah would be forever under Jafar's control, that whole fiasco could have been avoided if Sultan had listened to Jasmine's concerns, on top of this, Sultan tried to force her into marriage.

Thinking about the comment I left on Twilight Soapbox thread about the Monarchy in Equestria from My Little Pony FIM

Since I cannot make political statements outside of that forum section or DMs here, I have no choice. I've given the reasons why I would rather support Luna and Celestia in that fictional world if I could live there which is not going to happen, than the rulers we have in real life though. Our rulers suck, and have done far worse things than Luna and Celestia ever did. I don't believe that is ever going to change, because human nature is far too broken. On the bright side, yeah some people with empathy exist, just not enough, but it is evident here on this forum.

Planning to get drunk tonight, play deliberately melodramatic breakup music and leave a comment on an old ex partner's friend's profile to ask how it's been and to give her my contact details if she wants to talk.

It's gonna be really fucking funny. :please:

Since I'm lacking excitement in my life in general, experiencing mental health problems like depression and anxiety, sometimes triggers set off panic attacks, I've been tempted to go on the booze myself, it's not a good idea long term or even the short term depending on how extreme people go about it. Some people get drunk for fun nights out but even then, things can go badly wrong, from fights, to even alcohol poisoning and being taken to a hospital to have it removed, sometimes people don't even make it to the hospital. I drink wine sometimes on Christmas, birthdays or new year, but that is about it really, the occasional burst of fun, not constant.

I do admit though vodka and orange does taste nice, and I do get bored very easily, but no, it's better for my health to skip the booze and just go watch a movie or talk with family, I enjoyed a pizza last night. Then again consumption of fast food can kill people just as quickly as alcohol can in certain cases, I don't have type 2 diabetes, at least not yet, but I cannot imagine my lack of exercise helping that.

Existing in this world has been, difficult, avoiding more morbid terms? coming here to talk with people who have similar interests or at least understand each other enough to be nice to them, like people giving hugs to Bairro yesterday was very cool to see. Positivity here does help lift the mood, you could say, a little piece of Equestria, exists here on this forum. :kindness:

We cannot go there physically, but the ideals they share and live by, can be lived by through us.

I don't want to go to a bar anyway, social anxiety as well as seeing people barf up would send me rushing out the door.

Have you considered you might suffer from complex PTSD? Some of the things you've said sound like it to me, I thought I just had depression and anxiety but those were just symptoms of a larger thing. It's more common than you might think.

I'm more of a vodka person ;] it's cleaner than wine or beer in moderation, far less chance of inducing vomitting unless one overdoes it.

Screw pubs/bars IMO, they're not a good place to get to know people compared to other places and the drinks are way too expensive. :p

What will I find when I go shopping for my mom's birthday?

Scented candles, chocolate, or a cute plush. Maybe some soap or a really cool razor sharp ninja sword!

Plus there's a risk of drinks getting spiked, I know. Bars may be a place where people like to hang out, but they are generally a risky place to be, as for the price of drinks, airport bars are the worst for that in my opinion, if people like to get a drink there it's often better to just buy water or a tea or coffee, and then wait until they get on a plane where they can order their more tasty beverages like tea or coffee, or booze for people over the age of 21, sometimes food and drink come with the flight booking. Duty frees can be a good deal sometimes too.

As for what you said about my mental health, I have not looked more deeply into that to tell you the truth, it hasn't crossed my mind.

You're too nice but I wouldn't stress too much about it in your situation - besides, in general people have their ups and downs and I think everyone has something more serious going on with them due to the complexities of life. It doesn't mean don't care of course but everyone is gonna have their moments. :hug_day:

It depends on the area and one's gender and/or race. ESPECIALLY the area. But I haven't had any sketchy experiences personally - I have found ordinary people in the outside world kinder than it sounds on TV, TV tends to have a super negative bias because positivity doesn't make the news usually.

You may want to give it a search, I could PM you things you've mentioned that made me think so if you'd like. :) Psych terminology can sometimes be too clinical and confusing. Obligatory I'm Not a Professional, just read waaay too much on the subject (especially to understand my own shit lmao) /facedesk

I just saw an episode of Startrek about an admiral making a cloaking device against the treaty signed in good faith with the Romulans, and I couldn't help but think: maybe they should have kept the tech anyways. Just incase the Romulans prove un-trust worthy or break the treaty themselves.

I'll be watching Looney Tunes in a moment, the WB Classics collection DVD's came, good, now I can watch Sylvester and Tweety and get my mind off miserable things for a bit while I have a cup of tea. I hope Silent Dusk is doing okay, he said he was feeling unwell this morning I think, he came back on and said he was taking medication for something and is now feeling tired. I like My Little Pony Friendship is Magic and Disney movies like Aladdin and The Little Mermaid, but I have seen enough Princess Fantasy for the time being, I'm going to slapstick humor for some laughs.

I did it.

I don't even want to get hopes up as she doesn't even use the account anymore but it's still up - maybe one day she'll check and find my contact details. Or she won't. But it'd be interesting to say the least.

I forgot to make a thread explaining why I joined the MLP forum, too late for that now. lol but you already know by now my favourite Mane Six character is Fluttershy, my favourite Princess is Luna.

How I became a fan of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, well at first, a friend recommended it to me, I did not think much of it first, I had previously assumed it to be no different than any generation before it, "just a cartoon for children", but nope, I was wrong, My Little Pony has something everyone can enjoy, not only children. It's also cute, in a good and non condescending way.

Now I became obsessed with that fiction, when I found out about this forum, I decided to create an account on here later on.

My Little Pony Friendship is Magic borrows so much from known European folklore and mythologies, like griffins, dragons, unicorns, phoenix, centaur in the case of Tirek and many more.

I'd argue Princess Luna's Nightmare Moon transformation is similar to a werewolf, a weremare, because her transformation is still linked to her lunar powers. That is pure awesomeness. I've even got a shirt with Nightmare Moon picture on it, and I intend on picking up a figurine of Nightmare Moon from Ebay some point too.
