So how do the rest of the mane 5 earn money? Pinkie works at sugarcube and as a babysitter to the cakes. so gets a wage. Fluttershy probably grows her own things so probably doesn't need much money outside of helping ponyville with any animal troubles. Twilight is now a princess. Ribbonfree 2,383 March 25, 2014 Share March 25, 2014 Spoilers for the new episode but we do know that Rarity has some rather high profile clients now, so she probably makes decent bank. Twilight runs a library which nobody ever actually seems to be in. I figure she receives a pension as the apprentice of the most important pony in all Equestria. Kind of like a collage student getting money from home. Pinkie Pie works in Sugarcube Corner as an employee. She's also Pinkie Pie, so the laws of economics don't really apply to her. Rainbow does weather stuff, and generally seems to be in charge of it so I figure she gets an even bigger slice of moolah. She has a pretty swank house, as we've seen. Fluttershy is the most tenuous, because we've never seen her taking care of any animals that aren't essentially her own. I've seen speculation from other bronies that she runs some sort of public service, sort of like a park ranger, to manage the animals in the city. Ooooh, that's an interesting take on it. Only reason I'd disagree with that is because pony society is implicitly designed to maximize harmony and stuff, so everypony in theory should be afforded some money for whatever their talent happens to be. It's been made note of a few times... I've always thought of Flutters taking care of animals as a hobby, instead of a job Except it is shown she has money, and needs to buy food. She's also held adoption fairs for the animals (which usually means income). She's the towns animal control officer of sort from the looks more than anything.
