Whose played a Pokemon Game with the Nuzlocke Challenge lately?

 

I figured I'd start a thread where we can share our stories that make Nuzlocke's so fun. I normally would feel that my game is interesting enough to share but mine has recently taken a darker turn and the story I have in it surprised me, so I'm going write it up and post it for everyone to read. I'd also really like to see the stories other people have!

I never figured my pokemon journey would be any different than anyone else's, I mean sure I was going to succeed where so many others fell by the wayside, but that didn't make it all that different... At least not until recently.

 

But I'm getting ahead of myself to understand where I am we need to go back to the beginning...

This is a nice idea, I suppose I'll start. I've done a couple nuzlockes before but so far my only successful one was in Y. It was a pretty average nuzlocke for the most part until the Elite 4. I should note that my team at that point was Greninja, (Mega) Venusaur, Azumarill, Beartic, Gothitelle, and Tyranitar. Pretty good team right? The star of the team was by far my Azumarill, Bongo. Between it's typing and Huge Power ability it was the Pokemon I always turned to when in a pinch not to mention it also made for a nice physical wall if it knows Charm (which you can abuse with the game's A.I.).

 

Anyway after a couple hard loses at the hands of Team Flare (mainly my Manectric) I had finally made it to the Pokemon League with my new Tyranitar and Gothitelle. At first it was no big deal. Between both Azumarill and Greninja Malva went down easily as did Siebold and Drasana. (Siebold was a tad annoying to deal with without water coverage though.) Then I make it to the final member for my run, Wikstrom. Everything went pretty much like the others until he sent out Aegislash. Knowing steel no longer resists dark I sent out Tyranitar who was slightly weakened. I go for a Crunch. Aegislash survives because it's in shield form and then BAM! Sacred Sword OHKO. In a panic I send in Greninja who knows Dark Pulse. Same thing happens. I believe at this point I just said screw it and send in Azumarill because she was the highest leveled of my team and could probably take a hit the best. So I beat Wikstorm but take what was probably my hardest loss up to that point.

 

Never the less I heal up my remaining Pokemon with whatever healing items I have left and continue onto Diantha herself. She doesn't give me too much trouble but I still suffer some nice blows. Then her stupid Mega Gardevoir comes out. On normal playthroughs I have no trouble beating this thing but in a nuzlocke setting with the condition my team was in, it was like fighting Cynthia's Garchomp for the first time. Seeing as Venusaur was a poison type I send it out and mega evolve just to make things more even. Of course Gardevoir was faster and goes for a Psychic almost killing poor Venusaur. I immediately call it back and send in Azumarill not wanting to take any chances. This is when Gardevoir kills Azumarill who was my strongest and longest living team member now that Greninja was gone. Gardevoir continues to destroy my team until I am left with nothing but a half dead Mega Venusaur and a Beartic who I had barely used the entire Elite 4. With nothing to lose I send in Beartic. Gardevoir uses Moonblast on Beartic who clutches it at the last second and takes the hit then kills the Gardevoir with Shadow Claw.

 

At last I had beaten the champion Dianthia and her demon Mega Gardevoir. My heart was pumping so fast at that moment that it killed me I wasn't recording the fight and in fact the entire playthough, because that was some crazy last minute shit Beartic pulled off. I also can't believe I just wrote like 3 paragraphs about my nuzlocke run. I'm so sorry if you read all this.

Pokemon Nuzlocke Soul Silver - Torrent's Journal

I started out a long time ago as a simple ten year old kid in New Bark Town. I didn't get to choose my starter, you see one of the rules here is the last number in your trainer ID number decides what starter you get: 1-3 is grass, 4-6 is fire and 7-9 is water, 0 you get to choose (those lucky bastards).

 

Anyways I got lucky my ID is 47554 which means I got to have a wonderful fiery Cyndaquil, they are my favorite of the three, on top of that I hear I got extra lucky in that my Cyndaquil is female which is apparently kinda rare. I named her Cyndi (creative I know but cut me some slack I was 10 at the time), I've loved her and cared deeply for her ever since. We've had our close calls (I've come much closer to losing her than I want to admit). but she's still with me and she's a Typhlosion now.

 

 

@@Vaporeon No man that's exactly the type of stuff I'm looking for! Over indulgence and love of the game and the challenge!!!

 

The latest events in my game have been so crazy I'm literally going to write it out in here like a journal I mean it was a 4chan /v/ comic that started it all to begin with and I really wish I could draw and make this a comic because suddenly my play through has a plot to it.

 

" It's my challenge to anyone that reads this thread to go start a Nuzlocke challenge and keep a journal on here and see how much more in depth the game becomes when you give it a narrative plus the Nuzlocke threat of loss."

So you know I still have my starter and that I'm very protective of her; that's fine and I hope you find it understandable because I've had my share of loss, more than I care to remember.

 

I experienced my first losses in Azalea Town as Bugsy's Scyther brutally used it's sword like arms to cut down two of my earliest catches an Ekans named Caedus and my first ever caught pokemon a rattata named Penelope.

 

Azalea also gave to me as well, an egg I had been entrusted with hatched there and I became the proud papa of a Togepi who I affectionately named Simba, cause I hoped one day together I'd see him rise up to be a king.
