"Sorry. I meant race as in different species." Golden clarified. She got up and began to walk around their mini campsite. "I don't think that's an actual thing, racing between species, but it would be hilarious if it was." Golden chuckled. She looked at Tulip and gave her a bright, beaming smile.

Tempest stood up, and trotted forward.He soon came up to a mountain with multiple caves, and smiled. "Is anyone in there?" He asked, his voice echoing through the cave.

 

Two dragonesses exited the cave, and smiled when they saw Tempest. "It's good to see you." Dark the tallest one, said.

 

The smaller dragon, Gale nodded slightly, and smiled.

 

The bat pony laughed slightly, and sighed. "I wish this was on better terms." He said, before explaining what had happened.

 

Dark nodded, but sighed. "I'm sorry, but we won't be able to help." She said.

 

Tempest nodded, and glanced at Dark. "I understand." With that, the the bat pony flew into the air, and towards the crystal empire. "I guess I really am alone." He thought, as his vision became blurred with tears.

 

Celestia sighed, as she finushed writing and sending a letter to Lightning telling her to meet up with the forces that she had gatherd that would be attacking the crystal empire. Luna and Celestia would also be going.

After several hours of brewing and talking about her plans, Lightning's horn blowed and forth it burst a note from Princess Celestia, telling her it was time to go with the troops...they were going to attack Sombra's forces at the Crystal Empire.

 

"Zecora... is it ready yet? I must be leaving now," Bliss told her as she rolled the scroll up and placed it in her saddle bag.

 

"It is ready my good friend," the zebra took a wooden spoon, and poured the brightly glowing green liquid into a vial, "but please becareful...don't meet your end..."

 

"I'll do my best Zecora... Is there anything I should know about this potions?" She levitated the vial over to examine it.

 

"Only that it will help you to channel your magic to your will. If you want to become a dragon, focus on that fact and this should fit the bill. I do not know how long it will keep your magic in check, anything could happen in war, with the tinest speck." She lowered her head trying to keep herself from showing more concern then she had as Bliss placed the vial in her bag as well and turned to make her leave for the Canterlot troops, "Please Princess Bliss, before you go!" She hugged the white alicorn, nodding to her as she went, "Protect yourself before the others...this should be your goal. If you were to be lost...it would be at a greater cost. The ponies of Equestria need you, but if you were to be lost...hope will be in few."

 

"I promise to look after myself Zecora," she hugged her and smiled, feeling so happy to know a friend like her, "I will..." She focused her magic, and teleported into the air and flew straight back to Canterlot, spotting the Princesses leading their troops to the Empire. She flew up alongside Celestia and nodded to her. "I sure hope this mad plan works..." she whispered to herself as she flew on next to them.

Tulip smiled back at her "So...race equals species?" Got it. She wanted to push more, but decided that Golden would only lead her in circles. She sighed than stood, "I'm gonna go explore. I know the Everfree is dangerous, but I just wanna climb some trees or something, can I go? Just alone." She grinned and batted her eyelashes.

 

Cherry offered no input, she was about Tulips age when she started exploring the forest. The filly could probably handle herself, granted she stayed out of pits and monster dens.  @,

Golden looked at the filly. "If you can take of yourself, then you can. Just make sure not to wander too far." Golden told her, trying to keep her safe, but trying to let her have a sense of freedom as well. Golden yawned slightly and looked at the Everfree. "Who knows what could happen ..." Golden muttered to herself, trying not to think of her past.

"Cool, thank you!" It was with those words that Tulip set out on her secret mission, she was off to learn the secrets of controversial politics. There had to be SOME pony around who would tell her what it meant.

 

When Tulip was out of sight, Cherry turned to Golden Flames, "So, what next? We get to the castle then...what? Hide there until Sombra takes the world over?" She scowled the words.

Golden sat on her haunches and looked at Cherry. "I don't know what we're going to do when we get to the castle, Blossom. I only thought as far as getting to the castle! Actually, I'm quite surprised we did manage to get this far. So no, I don't know what we're going to do when we get there!" Golden said furiously. She got up and paced around the clearing.

Ivy appeared on the outskirts of the crystal palace, and trotted into the city. "Why do I feel so strange?" She thought to herself, as she wandered aimlessly. "Could it have been that bat pony? No. I don't even know his name, yet I feel like I saw him before." The silver unicorn then sighed, and sat on a bench to clear her thoughts.

 

Celestia glanced at Lightning, and returned the nod. "You wouldn't happen to know where Tempest is, would you?" She asked, slightly suspicious of the bat pony's recent actions.

Rainbow Dash, Fireblaze arrive back to Canterlot, As they arrive to Celestia Thorn room and then they land as they bow to her too.

 

“Princess Celesta we got some bad news. Futtershy Have been Capture by Darkness one of King Sombra Lackyes. Discord told us.” Rainbow Dash saying

 

“Yea Darkness Ko him, he heeling him self now and Futtershy is in Crystial Empire as we speak and I don’t know what King Sombra or Darkness plan do to her?” Fireblaze saying.

She looked up to Celestia and shook her head in no. "No Celestia... last I saw him we were in the Everfree forest, think he was looking for a friend or two," she said firmly, not wanting to mention the fact she met former agents of King Sombra as well. Now wasn't the time to dwell on two suspicious ponies when the real threat was still at the Crystal Empire.

 

"I have a plan to assist in the intiative attack... If I'm allowed to do so?" She added in to change the subject.

Cherry just shook her head and began packing up the wrapping left over from her sandwich. "I don't know Flames. I guess we'll just find the castle and figure it out when we get there. We still need to tell Tulip about her parents. Then we need to find some way to keep her safe. The other ponies we meant may say a thing or two about us. If that happened...we'd be in real trouble."

 

 

Tulip made her way about the Everfree forest and found a rather large tree to try and climb, maybe she'd be able to see things better from the top. @,

Celestia nodded slightly, and sighed. "I hope he doesn't do anything foolish. Anyway, what is your plan?" She asked.

 

Tempest landed not to far from the crystal empire, and didn't feel a thing. He had stopped caring as the icy plains came into view, and trotted forwards. "For to long I have stayed my hoov, and now the world shall fear my wrath. For to long has this war surged, and it's time to end it, all of it." He thought, as a hooded cloak materialized out of the bat pony's aura.

 

(@Fireblaze: Celestia isn't in Canterlot. She's heading to the crystal empire with the Equestrian military/ royal guard.  @Harmoniouswhovian: Tulip should be able to see the troops. Just sayin.)

Golden closed her eyes and calmed down. "You're right. Let's find Tulip and then we-" She stopped speaking when she opened her eyes. She found that she could see thermal images, without activating her thermal spell. She just gritted her teeth and looked at the orange blob that she knew to be Cherry. "Doesn't matter. Let's find Tulip and get to the castle." Golden muttered. She's seen stuff like this before, when she used her thermal imaging too much. It goes away after a few days but she hated it when it happens. She looekd around and found many orange blobs, luckily, none of them were near.

Tulip was quite far away now, she leaned at the top of the tree and saw what looked to be three fillies walking in the distance. Perplexed she leaned closer and watched them.

 

"Ya sure you left it here Scootaloo?" Applebloom asked her friend as she crawled beneath a sticker bush and held it up so Sweetie could get through.

 

"Defiantly." Scootaloo said looking back at her friends, "I was trying some off road scooting and the dumb thing fell off my head." She looked thorough the bushes for the object, her helmet, hoping it wasn't to deep in the brush.

 

Sweetie wasn't really looking as hard as the other two, instead er eyes drifted to the treetops, worrying that some filly eating beast may be hiding and ready to pounce. Instead she saw the glint of a blue crystal pony in the branches of a tree. She alerted her friends, pointing to the treetops.

 

"Well that's strange." Applebloom said when she saw who her friend was pointing out, "I wonder what that pony is doing way up there"

 

Momentarily forgetting about the helmet, the trio made their way to the tree and waved at the tree pony. The tree pony climbed down. "Uh, hi." She said to the trio, "I'm Tulip, who are you?"

 

The CMC grinned at the filly and introduced themselves.

 

Then Sweetie noticed something, "Hey, you don't have your cutie mark!"

 

Tulip blushed, "No, not yet."

 

"Neither do we!" Applebloom grinned showing her flank, "Wanna hang out with us?"

 

Tulip grinned, "Sure! Hey, you three wouldn't happen to know what a controversial politic is do you? I need it so I can get information."

 

The CMC all shook their heads, "But our sisters might!" Applebloom perked, "wanna go ask them?"

 

"That sounds great, I don't know how long I can play, but I'm sure my uh..." What should she call them? "My mom and my aunt, wouldn't mind me going into town for a second!"

 

"Then let's go!" scoots said, "We'll find the helmet later guys." With that, the group took off for Ponyville.

 

 

Cherry nodded, packing up the last of the picnic, "ya, let's get moving." @,

"I think I saw Tulip go this way." Golden pointed, placed her bags on her back and headed in that direction. "Hope nothing's bad happened to her." Golden muttered. She looked at the orange blobs and discerned different shapes. Bunnies, birds, carnivorous plants ... Her hoof bumped against something. She picked it up with magic and showed it to Cherry. "What colour is this helmet? All that I see is black. Must mean it's cold."

She gulped and continued, "I've had some help and, I've come up with a short term ability to create a transformation spell to become a large dragon... If I take the inititive, I could surprise Sombra's forces with hopefully little damage to myself, allowing for our troops to make a surprise attack after I move in."

 

She could hear the vial tapping away in her bag, just waiting to be used, but the fear of how long it'd last remained a factor in her mind.

Cherry looked down at the discarded helmet embedded in the ground, "Color...um, navy blue with a white stripe, though it's scuffed a bit from being in the dirt which adds a dusty brown tinge. Why?"

 

Tulip followed the group of fillies out of the forest. They came to an apple farm and walked around until they found an adult.

 

"That's my brother, Bigmac." said Applebloom pointing at the stallion working on the farm, "maybe he knows."They approached the stallion, "Hey mac," Applebloom started, "Can you explain what controversial politics are?"

 

The stallion blinked before saying "eeenope." and bidding a hasty retreat.

 

Scootaloo frowned, "whatever it is, it must not be good huh?" @,

Applejack noticed Big Mac hastily retreating from something. "What the heck has Big mac running fer?" Applejack asked herself. She walked in the direction that Big Mac was running from. Once she turned the corner of the barn, she saw the CMC as well as a crystal pony. "Howdy y'all. Would you care to introduce me to ya friend?" Applejack asked them.

 

Golden shrugged and placed the helmet on her head. "Just wondering. All that I saw was it being black. Anyway, we'd better find Tulip." Golden said and trotted off in the direction of Ponyville. "She may have gone to Ponyville so let's check there. "

Cherry raised a brow as the two of them made their way to town, she had grabbed the helmet and put it in her saddlebag. When sh was a filly, she would find lost stuff all the time in the forest. Most of the stuff was jacked by sprites and pixies, than just dropped, usually on traps. "Why did it look black to you? Are ya color blind?"

 

"Oh hey sis," Applebloom greeted, "We're just showing our new friend around, we found her in a tree."

 

Tulip gave a timid smile, "hi miss." She said. "I'm Tulip."

Luna went home after eating and was wondering how her friend Celia was doing? So she wrote her a letter saying she is ok and has anything interesting happened while I've been gone. Luna had Derpy Hooves, another friend of hers deliver the letter to Celia.

Celestia nodded slightly. "See what you can do, but be careful." She said.

 

After a few minutes, Ivy stood up, and walked towards the main gates of the city. As she trotted into the snow, she saw a hooded figure, and made her way towards him.

 

Tempest sighed, as he saw Ivy. When she reached the bat pony, he dropped his hood, and stared st her. "Why do you fight for him?" He asked.

 

The silver pony was slightly confused and backed up slightly. "I don't know." She said, not taking her eyes off Tempest.

 

The bat pony grit his teeth, and lurched forward. "Then remember this." Tempest then pulled Ivy into a hug, and wasn't about to let go.

 

The unicorn was slightly surprised, and felt her memories return to her. She tgen remembered everything, and returned the hug. "I remember now, Tempest."

 

The bat pony smiled, and broke the hug. He then glanced at the city to notice sveral guards preparing cannons and their weapons. "I suggest you hide." He said.

 

Ivy nodded, and croutched behind a small chunck of ice a few feet behind Tempest.

Golden shook her head. "Not colour blind. Whenever I use my thermal imaging spell too much, it makes my vision go all funny. It's a side effect and let's me see things in either red, orange, blue or black or whatever colour there is to see in heat." Golden said nonchalantly. She was used to it and was actually surprised the vision wasn't permanent.

 

Applejack smiled at the filly. "Howdy Tulip, the name's Applejack." Applejack introduced herself and looked at the CMC. "Where's the tree that ya found Tulip in girls?" Applejack asked curiously.

Tulip blushed, she would have to lie...or at least dance around the truth, "oh, um, you didn't hear? You see, a war started and I had to leave with my mom and aunty. This big evil king guy was trying to kill everypony, and he had a whole army and everything! There was a hug fight, and my aunty and mommy took me someplace safe." She kicked her hoof on the ground. It felt bad lying, but she hardly knew the truth and yet, understood that the truth had to be protected. "Oh, by the way, do you know what controversial politics are?" She asked to older pony.

 

The CMC stared on, shocked at what Tulip had said.

 

"oh," said Cherry with a shrug, "that's pretty cool. How long does it last?" @,

Golden shrugged. "It varies, depending how much I use between each vision change. It could last from a few days to a week." Golde answered. The both of them walked into Ponyville and immediately began searching for Tulip. "What should we say if we ask anypony if they've seen her?" Golden asked Cherry.

 

Applejack had a shocked look on her face. "No, I haven't heard about this war and controversial topics are something for when you're older." Applejack smiled nervously and looked between the four of them. "Who's you're mum and aunty?" Applejack tried to change the topic to Tulip's relations.

"Horse feathers, why won't adults explain politics to me?" Tulip muttered before looking up at Applejack, "my mom and aunty are, um, my mom and aunty. Miss Flames and Miss Blossom. We were out picnicking in the Everfree, and I went exploring a little. I should be getting back soon, we were heading someplace safe, but I'm not allowed to say."

 

"Wait." Applebloom demanded, "King Sombra is back?!? But he was destroyed!"

 

Cherry gave a tired nod, "well, if you need help seeing, just ask, I'll explain things to you." @,
