Doctor XFizzle 8,669 November 6, 2011 Share November 6, 2011 (edited) As MLP Forum grows larger with more members and activity, there is the potential that some people/sites/boards might try to invade or be trolls to get their jollies. Since the admins cannot be online all the time, should we construct some protocol in case such trolling/invasion happens and the admins can't clean it up right away? So in other words, what do Feld0 and Kurtiss want us to do when these things happen? Edited November 6, 2011 by Twilight Sparkle Changing the prefix to Feedback - this is a discussion about a board protocol, not a site problem 1 MLP Forums' resident timelord, sports dilettante, and purveyor of wit and humor~*Traveling Timelord Nonpareil*~

Since the admins cannot be online all the time, should we construct some protocol in case such trolling/invasion happens and the admins can't clean it up right away? I'm up for it. Simple solution: Twilight's Friendship Report No. 18: "Friendship is a powerful thing that can even bring the worst of enemies together. It takes only understanding and compromise to make it happen." Essentially, just try and make friends with them. That's what our community is built around anyway, right? 2 Storytellers of Equestria (Audiobook Group): http://ponysquare.com/Audiobooks My audiobook series: http://tinyurl.com/cp7mt2g ~ Semper Fidelis. They'll just log in, post their trolly stuff, then log out and watch the carnage erupt. If there is a person who is against ponies but are not using names/swears or horrible images like that one today, then it's possible to try and befriend them. Doctor XFizzle 8,669 November 6, 2011 Author Share November 6, 2011 My suggestion would be to immediately report the topic or post, then try not to post in that topic so it doesn't get bumped up onto the front page. That way a guest or potential member can't see it or read it and won't get scared off. 1 MLP Forums' resident timelord, sports dilettante, and purveyor of wit and humor~*Traveling Timelord Nonpareil*~

Or we would need more mods/admins (I would vote for the report thingy) Ups, we allready had this Is he/she/it gone? and yep, looks like so Edited November 6, 2011 by ShoeShy 1 "She is cute, But she can be EVIL" -ProjectRKA "For every hoof, It's own shoe" -ShoeShy

Slendermane 477 November 6, 2011 Share November 6, 2011 Personally, I say just ignore it. It feeds on attention, so if we just ignore it, it will get bored. Under no circumstances should we allow it to grow into a flame war. This is a place of love and harmony. If you can't say anything nice or tolerant, don't say anything at all. Of course, overused pony pictures always help. Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you. I know there's one for reporting an user if you go to their profile. But yeah, ignoring them is pretty much the best solution. LyraHeartstrings 482 November 6, 2011 Share November 6, 2011 Yeah, when these "trolls" come here and attempt to make us angry, do not reply to their threads. Just leave them be and wait for a mod to ban/lock threads. Now a days, instead of trolls feeding on our angry replys and hate messages, they feed on us bronies "loving and tolerating" them. I'm sure that they already know that this is the general rebuttal against these attacks and it is really all that they want. So please, when some idiot like stfyff tries to "troll" us, just ignore him. It's like if you made a hilarious comment on a YT vid. You'd want people to respond and like it, but instead you get completely ignored and lose interest. Why are you dragging your cursor over my signature? Is there a problem here? Do you maybe expect something special? Honestly, that's kind of creepy. Are you trying to get as much information about me as possible? Maybe you're going to copy and paste this into onto your little collage or all things Lyra? (me, not the awesome BG pony...) You seriously have issues dude... I pity you. Let it fade into obscurity by simply reporting it and declining to reply or bump the thread(s) in question.
