Noooooo..darn it, we almost had her! Am I the only one who took one look at that green magic weaving into lady Ra-ra's horn and scrambled for there mlp comic? Oh man my mind was lost for like the entire episode, pondering "is this the end season foe...oh please please....darnit!"

 

I will however take the silver prize, since spike is now offically only "best dragon friend" we have clear skys and calm waters for Rarijack sailig.....toot toot!

Heh, that would've been cool to see Nightmare Rarity in the cartoon, even if she has to be watered down a bit to pass censor scrutiny.  But a story like that would be so big it would need to be a two parter and those seem to be reserved for Season openers and endings.  Still, Rarity can be a very interesting pony when she becomes corrupted.

That would involve the nightmare forces, not some random puff of dark magic sealed in a spellbook.

It would have been more interesting if she had been transformed in another dark pony instead of Nightmare Rarity. If Nightmare Moon returns, I'd rather have her possessing somepony else, there's no need to repeat a plot in the show

I think that possessed Rarity was even better than Nightmare one. Her power much more fits her personality. She was more menacing, actually have done a lot, and who knows how it would end if Spike didn't broke the spell.
Of course NR seems to be more powerfull because she managed to defeat Luna, but besides this she didn't managed to do much.
Although NR looks much cooler, possessed evil-Radiance Rarity seems to be more interesting in my opinion.

I'm all for Rarity all of the time, but Nightmare Rarity has been one of the most infuriating things to me as a Rarity fan AND a member of this fandom, so why we would want that element in this show is beyond me.

 

Honestly; I find it insulting to Rarity, her fans, and the fandom as a whole that they'd just toss her a recycled concept in an attempt to "ail" her lack of presence in shitson 3; if that season was a person, I'd throat-punch it.

 

Throw in a poorly executed arc filled with nothing but poorly written dialogue, stupid concepts, and an ending that'd insult the intellect of a newborn and you've got something the fans would go crazy over? Seriously, I thought we were better than this.

There is nothing redeeming about Nightmare Rarity other than character design. If you'd look at the comic, you'd realize as much. They just threw her something that'd already been done and executed it with the sort of quality that screamed "We spent the majority of the time writing this comic not actually writing the story, just popping bubble wrap over in the corner of the room." Boo.

 

WHY anyone would want something that'd do nothing but drag down not only the show's lighthearted feel (which, is honestly one of the most appealing qualities to me) while dragging down the overall quality of the show that got us here in the first place is simply too difficult for me to fathom.

 

She looked cool, but she had nothing else going for her, and this is coming from one of the most obsessive Rarity fanboys on MLP Forums.

WHY would we want Rarity as a villain in the show, anyway? Or any of the mane 6, for that matter? The only one I can see it working out for remotely is Twilight, but, honestly, I'm unsure about that still.

Exactly. You are skeptical right now, but I know for sue that having any of the Mane 6 as a villain would feel a bit unnatural. Besides, we have fan fictions for that.
