gaming Video Game Role Models

Hi! ^^

So, I'm sure some of you have! But have any gamers, besides myself, had a video game character as a role model when they were growing up?

I know I sure did/do, none other than Sonic the Hedgehog! ^^

To this very day, I still have no clue why in the world I love Sonic so much! ^^"

When I was in that pre-teen/early teenage stage of my life when I was trying to figure out "who I was" and everything, I finally discovered who Sonic the Hedgehog was, my absolute biggest role model of all time. I literally did everything I could to find out more about Sonic, just his name strikes my heart in one of those weird ways.

Sonic makes a perfect role model, because he's always trying to do the right thing, along with being cool and blue. He's always truly been the dead-on definition of a "Hero" to me, I can't count how many papers I did in high school about him.

Sure sure, I would get laughed at and made fun of for loving a spikey blue dude, but who cares, you know? It makes me happy, it was someone I could look up to and try to be like, and that was all that mattered.

I can honestly say to this very day that some of Sonic's personality has rubbed onto mine. ^^

Now, for the second part of this topic, who do you think would make a perfect role model for your kids, or just kids in general?

Along to back up Sonic, I've recently discovered Pit, from the Kid Icarus series. I first seen him in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and always thought he was just a joke, often referring to him as "Arm Pit" (lol), but little did I know how truly badass this character was.

Recently, I've re-purchased the 3DS game; Kid Icarus: Uprising, which I've happily put on my "Top 10 favorite games of all time" list. ^^

If you've played the game, it's no mystery to why I think Pit would make a good role model for anyone, young or old.

He goes out of his way, at times putting his own life in danger, to do the right thing. While Sonic does the exact thing, to at times even a more extreme way, what's different about Pit is that he gets the snot beat out of him at times, has almost died, and still comes back with a strong spirit and a heart of gold.

If you have a 3DS and have been looking for a game to really sink your teeth into, I would highly recommend this so you can understand why Pit is an amazing character.

So there you have it, friends! ^^ (

Did/Do you have a Video Game character as a role model when you were going up/now?

Which Video Game character do you feel would be a perfect role model for kids?

Bonus: Explain why for both questions in detail.

NATHAN DRAKE.

He's cocky and smart (most of the time) and he always adds a sense of humor to whatever he does.

He's also bold and he will do anything to save the world from evil getting their hands on treasures with destructive capabilities.

I never had a role model from a video game when I grew up, but I think the canonical Vault Dweller from Fallout is a potential role model because after he helped his community and saved humanity from death, he got kicked out  but he never came back for revenge.

Guess Harry Potter... he was... cool in a way. Dunno... i just liked him.

Paragon Shepard. Because Paragon Shepard is awesome that's why. Solving conflicts with only words and inspiring loyalty e.t.c.
