My Little Anti-Brony: Stereotyping Is Tragic

There really needs to be more anti-"anti-brony" art....

 

 

This is me stereotyping the average anti-brony troll (just like we've been stereotyped since the dawn of ponydom), the ones who make it a point that they don't like the show and/or the fandom, and continously attacks both with causative art/posts or entire groups dedicated to spreading their dumb sh*t.

 

There is, of course, the type of person who plain says "I don't like the show/fandom" and leaves it at that. I'm completely cool with them.

They're a very rare breed, regardless.

I feel strange in that I have witnessed little to none of the anti-brony sentiments.   9 times out of 10 I hear stuff about anti-anti-bronies instead. But, I guess that comes down to where I spend my time I suppose.

I think you misunderstood my intended point, my friend.♥  I'm saying that I have personally been the subject or witness to almost no hate towards bronies. I've heard more bronies criticizing anti-bronies than normal people criticizing bronies, basically. But, I often lurk on the nicer side of the internet, so... I realize I don't see a lot of what goes on elsewhere.

 

Also, I kinda thought furries were the internet's doormat, honestly.   Though I suppose both us and them are decent candidates for the role somedays.

But that would mean we would just be engaging in Trolling just like them, which is what they would thrive on. Ever heard the expression, "Don't spit into the wind", it would apply to this as well.

Interesting enough, the only times I've ever been annoyed by a Troll online, is when it was another "Brony" on sites like youtube.

Anyways, yeah, you can't throw a dead equine without hitting a hater on Deviant Art.

Even IF you stick to the PonyNet, you'll end up face-first into one with too common occurrence.

Doesn't matter, though. Being anti-anything is just pointless. Only adds more fuel to the fire, really. Doesn't make any change. If someone doesn't like the show or the way the fandom is, whatever. No need to be a huge dick about it, though. 

 

If you don't like something, just ignore it and move past it. Sure, it sounds easier than it is, but you're saving yourself a whole lot of anger

I don't like Puella Magi Madoka Magica in the slightest, and I get a bit irritated with how much I see of it.

 

However, I learned that ignoring it just makes life easier on everyone, and I run into fans of that show everywhere. Maybe you should do just that with that group; ignore it. I feel a lot less stressed now that I pay no mind to Madoka, and perhaps doing the same to those guys would be of help.

^ This.  I don't understand why people devote so much time to...  The things they supposedly hate.  I see anti-this or anti-that stamps at dA and just wonder, "Why bother advertising what you DON'T like?"  I mean, I don't like everything.  And I, personally, have been met with acceptance and understanding regarding MLP.  But I've seen some "brave," anonymous so-and-so tear into someone for liking MLP or liking something else more than the internet apparently thinks they should be allowed to, and that rubs me the wrong way.  Some people are so concerned with how cool they appear or pointing out how uncool something else is that I wonder that they have the time for anything else.

 

I mean, if you're "anti-punching kittens in the face" I get it.  There's a cause I'd back. xD  But, for the most part, it's just "anti-whatever it is someone else likes."  Also, I thought the topic-drawing was clever, and I support pointing out the hypocrisy of others lol.  Admittedly, I poke fun at things (even things I like), but I don't deliberately go after the people who like said things.  I'm in a defensive position far more often than I'm ever on the offensive.  The motivation for a direct attack would be, presumably, rooted in a desire to elevate oneself in the eyes of others and garner undue attention.
