searching Descendants of Equinox

Alright, I'm going to have to break this in to two parts. The first part will explain how magic works in the roleplay. I don't mean this as "You can do this, you can't do that, blah, blah, blah." I mean this in a sense that I will actually create a system as to how it works, why it is, etc. Not only am I doing this because I hate it when phenomena goes on unexplained, but I'm doing it to give you a better understanding of the lore in Descendants of Equinox. The second half will consist of the actual lore. Also, on another note, I'm new to this ( ), so you guys are gonna have to walk me through the steps on making a roleplay.

 

The basics of magic:

 

When living things is born, they are given three types of existence. The first existence, the soul, comes from the moon. Soul is what gives living things the ability to care, love, cry, and feel emotion. The more soul one has, the deeper and more emotional one will be.

 

The second existence is magical existence. Magical existence exists in all living things. However, only living things such as the unicorns are gifted with the ability to use their magical existence as utility. Magical existence can be broken down in to two parts, sprite and aura. Think of aura as the amount of magical energy one has, and sprite as the tiny little being that creates more magical aura when the magical aura is used up. The stronger one's sprite is, the more aura it can produce in one setting; and the more aura it can produce in one setting, the more powerful the living thing's magic will be. When a living thing exausts it's magical aura, the living thing will have to wait until more aura is regenerated by their magical sprite. The strength of the magical sprite also determines the speed at which it regenerates magical aura. When Chrysalis was stealing magic from shining armor, she was only taking his aura. However, the main antagonist in the last episode of season four was able to take sprites as well as auras.

 

Soul and magic both exist in one form or another inside all living things. However, these two existences are constantly trying to push each other away, which is why the sun and the moon cannot be in the sky at the exact same time (if an eclipse where to occour in the My Little Pony universe, then that would mean big trouble). The only thing that stops these two existences from blasting each other apart is physical existence, which is one's body. When you think of magical and soul existences as two magnets facing each other at the same poles, repelling each other, you can think of the third existence, physical existence, as a box that prevents the two magnets from throwing each other. With this law in mind, more often than not, larger living things will have more powerful magic than smaller living things. However, exceptions to this rule does exist. The main antagonist in the last episode of the fourth season was able to generate more physical existence as he gained magical existence in order to prevent himself from exploding.

 

Although soul and magic constantly try to repel each other, the two are practically unstoppable when they work together. This is what makes the Element's of Harmony so powerful. They provide artificial physical existence which pushes not one, but six of each existence together so closely that there's a great surge in energy.

 

Lastly, when a living things die, they give their three existences back to the sun, moon, and earth. However, there is a phenomena that exists called pollution existence. Pollution existence is bad existence that doesn't fit anywhere in the sun, moon, or earth, and just sits and moves on the earth's surface like, you guessed it, pollution. Pollution existence exists in the form of entire areas such as the Everfree Forest, but also exists in the form of living things such as timber wolves, changelings, poison joke, and other monstrocities that where never mean't to come into being. When a pollution existence being dies, it's pollution existence just sits on the earth's surface until it finds another host.

The Lore:

 

Equinox was dealt a bad hoof in this big game we call life. When he was just a gray coated, black maned unicorn foal without a cutie mark, his mom and dad were killed in a magic accident caused by Twilight Sparkle, who recieved her cutie mark shortly after. Twilight's loves ones put in their best efforts to keep this horrible truth away from the young filly in order to protect her, which mean't that Twilight was oblivious to the grief that Equinox went through; and just dismissed him as a bad seed when Equinox, equally oblivious to the fact that Twilight didn't know what she did, tried to bully her. The unfortunate event followed by a series of misunderstandings lead the two to hate each other greatly.

 

As Twilight Sparkle went on to furfill her destiny, make friends, and become alicorn royalty, Equinox became more and more spiteful of her success. He worked equally hard in his talent, magical swordplay, but couldn't even make it into Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns because the orphanage he once lived in did not have the money. Equinox decided that Twilight Sparkle owning her own kingdom was the last straw, as he ventured in to the Everfree Forest in hopes of harnessing it's pollution magic for utility. Equinox did everything in the ritual right except for one thing. He overestimated how much existence his physical being could hold, and literally exploded as a result.

 

Equinox was dead; but at the same time, he still existed.

 

When normal beings die, they give their soul, magical, and physical existences back to the moon, sun, and earth. When pollution beings die, their existence remains on the earth's surface unformed and without a conscious. However, when these existences are fused together, they both do not go back to their place of origin, and they stay in tact to a degree. Equinox, when he exploded, was split into an uncountable amount of separate beings, all scattered across Equestria. Some of these beings were simply weak foals, while others had the power to rival alicorns. All of these beings had the same coat and mane colors that Equinox once had, and they maintained the same talent. However, the similarites end there. Each being had their own distinct race, personality, gender, body build, you name it. However, because they where never meant to come in to being, none of them have a cutie mark. (Cutie marks show destiny, not talent. All descendants of Equinox have the same talent that Equinox originally had. However, their destinies are all different.)

 

Only the more powerful of the descendants know how they came in to being. It is these descendants that still have great hate for Princess Twilight Sparkle. It is the powerful ones that choose to unite together, teach the weaker ones who they are and why, and overthrow the monarch. However, not all descendants of Equinox like this idea. These underdogs will be the main protagonists of Descendants of Equinox.

 

On another, more technical note. Because the magic of the Everfree Forest helps bind together the existences of the descendants of Equinox, they are able to take more physical damage than most other ponies. The extent to which they can be hurt without dying depends on their power. The magic of the Everfree Forest also allow the earth pony and pegasus descendants to use hoof magic to an extent, not unlike Zecora in the episode Magic Duel. Again, the strength of this magic will depend on the power of the descendant.

 

And, lastly of all, there are no alicorn descendants.

Wow, he looks just like what I imagined. I want you to know that I had no intention of stealing your original character whatsoever. The Equinox I imagined, although awefully similar, was made independently of your Equinox.

 

However, there exists a problem. When Equinox exploded from too much pollution existence and his descendants appeared across Equestria, they were all given different personalities, body builds, and even genders (their color schemes are the same, and they don't have any cutie marks, however).

 

But the Equinox you made looks like too fit of an original character to pass up. Maybe we should alter him slightly and save him until the end or something.

Alright, I've heard that I should also provide a link to the roleplaying thread in the first post of this thread, and a link to this thread in the first post of the rolyplaying thread, and that I should also list your names on the original post.

 

I'll do so, and then make a roleplaying thread. Do I need to make a prolouge on the roleplaying thread to get the whole thing started?

Alright, one more question. Do you want it to start out calm, or for there to be action right off the bat? I'm thinking that it should start out with the residents of Ponyville wondering why the Everfree Forest suddenly turned into a regular forest, unaware of the descendants or what has been done.

Oh, and a fair reminder to all of you. If you have a weaker descendant of Equinox, then he/she won't be aware of how they came in to being, who they are, what they're destiny is, or anything of the sort (for added effect, let's also make it to where they don't have a name, and they get assigned one during the roleplay). If your descendant is one of the stronger ones, then he/she will know what they are as well as have a deep hatred for Twilight Sparkle, which means that he/she will be an antagonist.

Remember, Equinox exploded when he took the Everfree Forest's corruption existence and accidentally made descendants, so that means he's dead (for now), the Everfree forest isn't dangerous anymore, and all that is left are descentants scattered across Equestria. So yes, it is a descendant; and it could be any descentant here that decides to take on the position.

I also suggest not making the roleplay advanced if you are new since advanced roleplayers are more literate and everything and require more detail and it is sometimes harder to make lengthy posts

Although I haven't roleplayed before, I've still written fanfictions. I'm good at adding detail and using proper English, don't worry.

Yeah I'll second that idea, 800 words is a lot for one post, I will write good posts but I do find it harder when I have to stretch them to lengths.
